 Lennon tenure

Well amost safe, bit would we in this position under tidser or macpake. Sadly no.
I never rated Lenton as a player, but he has grown on me as a manager. Good man management, good motivation, not yet seen great tactics, but probably due to players. Ok results against the better teams.
So we`ll done Neil, hope you stay.

5 league games under Lenny, won 2 lost 2 and drawn one. Scored in just 2 out of 5 games. Not amazing but an improvement over Tidser anyway. Mcpake might not have been far behind had he had Mullen.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do with some of his own players for sure. Not too impressed with whatever the plan is/was with wanyama though how he thinks he’s fit enough for game time.

Going by the talk about out wage budget for next season we might be steamrollering teams next season but if we spend the cash he’ll be under pressure to have us right up there.

The problem he had is he was lumbered with a team with no pace and very little to no quality in the final third. Thanks to mcpake offering mental new deal to players nowhere near good enough for the championship. Tidser then came in and somehow managed to make us worse by trying to play passing around the back football with a team who doesn`t have that capability on a pitch even a farmer wouldn`t use.

Lenny has come in and gone back to basics. And players like foggarty have really strived under him. IF and it`s a big IF Lenny stays I`m excited for the summer ahead. I don`t think we will be able to attract a bigger name than Lenny and we might attract bigger names with him the gaffer. Hopefully he has a clear out of the guys not good enough to get us fighting for top 4 and bring in better quality replacements to get us to that level.

Impressed by what I`ve seen, he`s gone back to basics for the most part and made us a more difficult team to beat. He knows how much we have to improve in the summer in recruitment but he`s done nothing but praise the players in public to keep morale high (something Tidser never understood).

As others have said, we need a bit of a clear out now. Too many players who just can`t contribute enough at this level consistently to get us fighting at the top end of the table. Certainly going forward we need an awful lot better, especially to get some quality in the wide areas to cause teams problems.

Hopefully it`s a big summer ahead with some long needed positivity for what could happen next season

Holding midfielders often get overlooked, unfairly in my opinion. He was an excellent player.
Gary Mason’s importance to our team was not fully appreciated by some.

It`s nice to hear someone smart, thoughtful and eloquent speak on behalf of the club. He makes us sound like a professional football club.

I`m not saying Tidser was thick but, if we`re all being honest, his interviews were difficult to listen to.

He has reinstated both Fogarty and Clay who have both done well yet couldn`t get a look-in under previous managers. He has scrapped the pishy passy game which would never work on a tattie field nor with the calibre of players that we have, and has instilled a bit more confidence in them. Clearly scoring goals is still a problem but we are harder to beat now.
The job for this season is nearly done and we can start looking forward to a clearout and rebuild for next year. Well done Neil.

It is interesting, we have gone back to a back 3 which is something mcpake went with and we got similar results with….ie 0-0.

Hamilton getting those points deducted and airdrie blowing it yesterday meant it felt like a good point while under mcpake another toothless performance would have had the fans up in arms!

But you can only go with what you have and mullan aside it’s still pretty much mcpakes team, it certainly won’t be next season.

Lennon came in to a very difficult situation, a squad with limited ability, very little pace and low confidence. Hes found a team out of that lot who can pick up points, a couple of vital wins and look more confident getting the ball forward to have a go. He warned us it wouldn’t be pretty and it hasn’t been. He’s nearly got the job done though whilst dealing with even more injury problems. Had Connor young not been injured against Ayr I think we’d have seen him score his first pars goal under Lenny.

Worth mentioning the forgotten men, Fogarty and Clay, who couldn’t get a game under Tidser but have came in under Lennon and bolstered us. I’d be happy enough if we brought both back next year.

I think if we had persisted with Tidser, Airdrie would be above us by now. Well done Mr Lennon, I can’t wait to see what you do with an enhanced budget in the summer.

Exciting times ahead.

Hard to say with so few games played. The one difference I think is the attitude. He seems to have a good balance between praise and criticism. You can hear yesterday that he`s praised the clean sheet, flagged the issue with the pitch, but also highlighted a couple of chances Partick had that they shouldn`t.

Whether he`s here next year is down to himself and the club. If either side chooses not to renew then I hope we look beyond the usual faces.

Get him signed long term on Monday.

He gets it. He calls out everything most fans have been saying for ages. The utter garbage GMBH served us is now going to be a distant bad memory.

Spend, spend and spend in the summer. Can`t wait.

It’s not a case of IF he signs, more a case of when it’s announced.

Lennon will 100 percent be our manager for the next 2/3 years and I for one am excited to see what next season holds.

A busy summer, almost an entirely new squad, let the good times roll back at East End.

I’m giving a special mention to Fogarty who I think is excellent. Very steady and reliable, keeps things simple. I hope we retain him at the end of the season.

My thoughts exactly!! Said the same to my son on the way to the game yesterday, nobody can predict the future but it’s the start of an exciting time to be supporting the club

Said the same to my son yesterday, told him what anytime it is to be a Pars fan. Especially the younger ones, hopefully plenty good times to look forward too, a Scottish cup final appearance, beating the old firm in a game so many things.

Before anyone starts I don’t mean anytime soon but with a rebuild and new owners who knows what’s achievable in the future.

I would doubt that the deal offered to NL would have had such short-term vision. I would have thought more likely it involved a bonus to keep the club up and manage the club going forward if he does. I would think that as a manager, you want good honest professionals who have the right attitude and commitment to the game. Add technical skill, winning mentality, vision and teamwork to that and you are well on your way. He is clear and succinct in his post match interviews and his assessment is fair. I see a definite improvement as a team. Having a great individual players doesn`t make them a team, so personally I would hold back from commenting on individual players. A good manager builds a team from a group of players that fit together to become more than the sum of their parts. Whether they are playing or not, you would expect every player to contribute in some way so that they have some investment and involvement in the club. I like NL`s attitude, you can see he has risen to the challenge, and he has brought the players with him. He has experience of managing at the top level of Scottish football so deserves respect. We are fortunate that we have been able to benefit from that experience. It`s a roller coaster season for sure as NL says, and I am interested to see where we go next season. I have said before, my old boss used to say, his men followed him not because he was a great leader, but just to see what happened when we got there. I think with NL we have a leader, and the journey is going to be interesting.

I don`t think Lennon will be announced as our long term manager until we are 100% safe, which we aren`t. Hamilton still have an appeal and Airdrie could technically still overtake us,even though that`s very unlikely.

Dinnae count yer chickens.....

As for him as a player,he was an excellent player that did what he was asked. He played the simple ball to the more creative players, helped the defence and provided leadership qualities. Not every great midfielder is a box to box job chipping in with 5-10 goals a season. I think he only scored 3 goals for celtic and 2 of them were against us 😆 (I think he scored the opener in the infamous 1-8 game).

If the Hamilton appeal fails and we take something from Airdrie then he`ll be announced shortly after that (I hope).

At one point Partick were really getting on top in the second half but bringing on the 3 subs at one time stopped that. The opposing managers all talk about and know him being in the opposing dugout is a big factor. Some coup for Dunfermline if they can get him signed up on a longer deal..

While not flashy and under-appreciated Lennon for me was a great player - always working to make himself available to receive the ball and then to give it to the creative players. Also fiercely competitive with it.
