What a boost for Chris if he reads the forum, which is likely if he`s a fan! The feelgood factor will quickly disappear with posts like that. What`s more important is the manager obviously rates him and says so.

you can sign a player today, yesterday, a month ago, its registered when the transfer window opens which is around the 10th June up here i think.
no need for the build up with that tweet, have already said didnt think he should be getting a new deal too and wont be the last on that front.

If the feelgood factor disappears it`s absolutely nothing to do with the posts on here, usual suspects blaming the support for the clubs shortcomings again.
Hamilton has been a walking booking and well off it the last two seasons, I hope for him and the club that he finds some form under the new permanent management team.

We have re signed a player who a lot of fans weren’t impressed with last season.
All the excitement for a player who’s extended his stay.
Players can be announced before the window, Gullan has been announced at St Johnstone yesterday, they’ve also announced a couple from Morton already.
I hope there’s another announcement today.

I want to start on a positive note—Hamilton is a player I really admire. He gives everything for the team, putting his body on the line and shows unwavering commitment. From what I understand, all the players with ongoing contract discussions have now signed.
However, my concern is this: last season, creativity was lacking, and our midfielders struggled to contribute goals. If we`re simply re-signing the same midfield that underperformed, what will change? The risk is that we end up with the same results.
I really hope to see 3-4 new signings that genuinely make an impact—players who make us sit up and say, ‘Wow, this is exactly what we needed to move forward.’

That`s good news. I don`t think I would single out Chris Hamilton for a poor season. It`s a team sport with collective responsibility. NL and the management team clearly see a future for him at the club. He will improve with better players around him. I dont see midfield has his best position, but he can operate in a back 3 or 4 and defensive midfield.

I’m ok with it, I understand the rationale.
He is nearly always available, not prone to injury. Is versatile, can fill other positions when needed.
Think he is a good squad player, the club are going through a transition and they aren’t going to be able to turnover a whole new team within one transfer window, or probably the full season for that matter so keeping Hamilton, bearing in mind it’s just a one year contract, makes sense for me.

Hamilton didn`t have a great season but did he not miss some of pre season that wouldn`t help.
I`ve got to say some of the comments regarding Hamilton signing again are disgraceful if you ask me.
3 years he`s been with us and the first 2 years he didn`t have bad seasons.
It`s possibly correct that a player signing a new contract less fanfare from the club but it is what it is.
All the best for the new season Chris

Can see why we have re signed him, can play in multiple positions, gives his all, disruptive ball winner.
Decent squad player.
If he wants to start regularly in a title chasing side he will need to be a lot better on the ball than he has been though. Maybe a preseason under Lennon will do him a world of good. He is still young enough to improve.
The social media build up was definitely misjudged though.

Well, the OP has certainly succeeded. Every Pars player has my support. Chris may not always perform at the level he or we would like, but he always gives 100%. Depending on who comes in during the transfer window, he may or may not be a regular starter, but he is a natural leader, helping to get the best out of the players around him and he can fill in more than adequately in defence. He is a valuable squad player and certainly not "dug meat."

Not a bad bit of business tbh. Hamilton`s a decent squad player that offers some versatility which is always handy to have coming off the bench. Not exactly buzzing about the signing, but not against it either. It’s one of those “fine, fair enough” deals. Still loads of time to bring others in with the window not even open yet, so no panic. Let’s see what else we do.

He knows the club, he knows the supports expectation, he’s one of us. You could see the look of despair on his face at various junctures last season. This is a pivotal point in Hammys career.
IMO - If it’s just going to be more of the same he’d be off. He’s been shown the bigger picture & he wants to be a part of it.

After seeing the twitter posts last night I was fully expecting to wake up and see Brian Graham in a Pars shirt, so I do admit it was a bit underwhelming to just see a current player get a new deal.
I guess the social media team got a bit of a buzz going, and that`s their job.
I was thinking Hamilton would be away, he`s a good committed player but I thought he was maybe a bit limited. I trust Neil Lennon will know more than EVERYONE on here combined however, so if he thinks he is worth a deal then I trust his judgement. Hamilton is still young, has played a lot of football already and if anyone can get him to the next level the Lennon can.
We haven`t really seen any development in any of our players under any of the coaching teams since Stevie Crawford left, they have had years of sub-srandard coaches, unhappy training, understrength squads, playing when injured, so I`m looking forward to seeing some of them live up to their potential

I believe that the club made a statement on how important development would be. It is as much a part of the club philosophy as the recruitment of new players. Throwing money to buy success is not sustainable at any club. Good to see NL talking about CH passion for the club. Passion is a prerequisite for any player we bring in.

I think we forget how young Hamilton is as well, he’s only 23. Gives his all, always available so he’s a good player to have around the squad but not necessarily a starter.
I think Hamilton does alot of the difficult stuff really well then struggles with some of the basics but hopefully Lennon can work on it with him
I think some of the frustration and being underwhelmed isn’t at Hammy but is more with that daft social media update which clearly made fans think we were signing the best striker in the league.

Marketing team made a blunder. Copying the Thistle thing was a poor decision, there was never going to be an upside to that unless we had Brian Graham or another one of Thistles best players.
Although I don’t think Hammy is the best midfielder in the league, he’s certainly good enough to play his part in a promotion chasing team. He’s a Pars man and has showed up for the team when times have been tough - played out of position wearing the captains armband. He deserves credit all that. Definitely helped keep us in the league that injury season.

What an embarrassing and disrespectful forum this is. Useful utility squad player that`s handy to be used to fill various positions and he has the potential to improve as a player that`s a vital cog in the machine.
People expecting a full squad of new quality players by the end of this coming transfer window are deluded. It`s going to take time to build a team that can challenge for promotion. 2 years is probably over optimistic too.
I know what teams with a lot less like Livi and the scum have done, but this is Dunfermline Athletic FC, nothing comes easy for us, it never has.
It`s all moot anyway as the other forum members aren`t real and I`m typing away to nobody. We`re all just a brain hooked up to some sort of matrix style thing, having our bodies used to provide power to something incomprehensible and no doubt malevolent in some way.
Masters, I know its all fake but please let Mullen sign on also.

Pleased Hamilton has resigned but yeah, giving it the big build up (including using a phrase Partick were slagged rotten for using when it was an underwhelming signing themselves), teasing things and getting fans hopes up when it`s only a one year extension, a player who signed his contract weeks ago and it`s someone some folk - not me - would have happily seen leave is definitely a bit of a social media gaffe. Totally unnecessary too. I do see why clubs try to one up each other, eveh though it is usually cringey AF, but when they try they really need to make sure they stick the landing.

Some of the comments in here are absolutely appalling!!
Good news and delighted to have him back at EEP for a further year 👍🏻
I totally agree. It`s great news that Chris Hamilton re-signs for us. Also, I agree that some of the comments on here are disgraceful, but nothing new there.

He signed the deal, a dream come true,
A local lad in black and white hue.
For Dunfermline’s pride, he stands so tall,
A warrior fierce, he’ll give it all.
A winner’s heart, a fighter’s soul,
Charging forward, eyes on goal.
But sometimes fire burns too bright,
A booking here, a reckless fight.
Yet through the highs and through the lows,
His passion for the Pars still shows.
Through brick and mortar, rain or shine,
For Neil Lennon’s squad—this lad’s divine.

Alwaysapar,
You’ve had a nightmare there mate, you can sign anyone with less than 6 months on their current deal and announce it. You just can’t register them until that new deal starts. Been the case for years now.

I’m reasonably happy with Hammy re-signing for another stint, and didn’t appreciate how young he still is - he may well improve further, and flourish under NL. Welcome re-aboard Chris!

p. s. I`m delighted Hamilton has re-signed.
I am confident the players will get a massive boost from Neil Lennon who has monumental experience. Much to look forward to next season.
I guess sometimes on forums and social media people`s comments may be interpreted different to what was intended

As Brian said, delighted for Hammy, a local lad who wears the jersey with pride and always gives his all. We may well get better players in, but they won`t have the same passion. We need players who really want to play for our club as well as the `superstars.`

I thought we had already extended his contract, so there you go.
Certainly 2 seasons ago when we had the horrific injury crisis at the club, he really held us together, played all positions, and played through injury - for that alone I`m forever thankful.
I get his limitations, but he`s a big presence at the club for someone still young. We need guys who can dig in. Just need to work on his bookings now!
I see overall that the players being signed by clubs at the moment are squad players, or guys that are needed for the hard slog that is Scottish Championship.
I`m thinking we will have plenty players lined up the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Glad he`s re-signed. Prefer him at centre back too but will be interesting to see where he plays depending who else comes in. Just needs to cut out a few of the silly bookings.

Uninspiring. Hamiltons been part of a team thats questionably one of worst Pars teams in recent history. Lets hope this is a signing as a back up/cover and not our first 11.
A lot worse than Hamilton this season just ended.

No issue Hammy signing but surely NL will be looking at better players .There is no question of Hammy`s loyalry and passion ,but that doesnt win you anything. Think most people were expecting a new statement signing .Happy to wait

Hamilton is the type of squad player you need. He can play in 2/3 positions, loves the club, won’t be a negative influence in the dressing room and is clearly glad to be here.
Is only 23 and played for Scotland right up to U21’s so there is also potential for him to improve.
I’m pretty sure he’ll not be the first name on the team sheet, but will definitely play a part next season.
I also seen his tweet announcing he’d re-signed. Is he hinting that Brian Graham would be joining him?

Of course this is a good outcome. Chris Hamilton is an excellent young player with much to contribute, and still things to learn. He`s a tough tackling utility player. Every team needs a Chris Hamilton.

Bottom line is, Hammys resigning is good, the way the Social media dept announced it is embarrassing and damming as it embarrassed is with other teams and made us look stupid. They need to admit they got it wrong but I’m sure the signings to come will make up for it. Ps, Happy Chris has resigned as he will be a good player for us

I noticed a post on X by someone whom I was not familiar with stating that the Pars had released Lewis McCann. I`m not sure how accurate this is, but given that his existing contract would have expired last night, there could be some truth to it.

Hey Fever, Dandy Warhol. having spoken to one of the team 5hey admitted themselves they didn`t quite get it right. Hopefully nobody will still be talking about it once a few high profile signings come in, but I think a few folk remember when we posted the Steve Carrel "it`s happening gif" only for us to announce Ross Graham on loan...

What a strange response to a comment on a thread about a Twitter announcement of one of our players extending their contract. Sums up the situation I referred to quite nicely.
