At least we can get to half time only 1-0 down. These friendlies against lower league sides are ideal for building up confidence. Are EK in League 1 or 2, either way stiff opposition.

they arent trialists, its players they have signed but are not registered as yet.
not overly fussed with the result and the same from Thursday gone, it doesnt change anything in terms of the squad which needs massive changes and probably more if its going to be a back 3 every week to have a chance of a top 4 finish which is what is being talked about as an aim.
presume Lennon will be interviewed after the game, probably more interested in what he has to say than the game itself.

It’s not the result that concerns the majority it’s the shape of the squad. If we are serious about bettering last season and improving the general feeling about the place which ultimately feeds onto the pitch then this is a big week for us.

The dot not bedwetters and positivity leeches will be working themselves into a frenzy here.
I wouldn`t be worried by the result, it`s effectively half the first team and half the youth team, playing in each half. Gets some minutes in everyone`s legs, let`s the coaching staff have a look at all of them. If it was an important game and we started with Lennon`s preferred first XI I`m sure the result would be different

I really don’t know why people go to pre season friendlies never mind make outrageous assumptions for the forthcoming season. These games are nothing more than fitness sessions. Absolutely no way you can assess our likelihood of making top 4 this season on friendly matches where the team selection is a mixture of raw youth and players building fitness and pretty much the whole team is changed at half time. These games have no impact on the new season whatever the score or result.

I`ve just come in and looked at our team - that`s not our best eleven - looks like Lenno`s using this game for other reasons than testing our prospective first team. So, though I`m disappointed that we`re losing and our goal machine is still in reverse, nae worries. Wait till we field our best eleven - maybe against the tarts, after all, it`s prudent to guard against injuries in these friendlies innit?

I agree The Boss, but I’m sure we will be making the signings we need very shortly. Lennon hasn’t signed up with us to just try and dodge relegation again so I’m sure he’s had assurances over a bigger wage budget and bringing in players. I think we need 7 in before the league starts.

So we didn`t have our best eleven in either half, but only about three in each who are likely to be starters?
EK are a team on the up, and they were bound to be up for it against higher league opposition. Also I don`t imagine any of our players were giving their all or anything like it, so as not to risk injury.
What I take from it is that, I`m optimistic there will be more first team starters soon.

Difficult game to judge the team on. SH was way better than FH but lots of poor decisions in the final third left us goalless. If we are bringing more in it has to be this week to realistically have any prep for competitive matches.
Thought Ewan Otto stood out. Solid & creative always looked dangerous going forward.

Positives. I won the half time draw. £65. Number 14 centre back trialist was alright … Deniz marshalled his defence well. Young hit the crossbar. And some lads and lassies will have 3 balls for free that we sent over the netting.

Result means hee haw at this stage. If anything, today just underlined what we already knew, quality needs to be added. But I’ve no doubt Lennon and the recruitment team were already well aware of that long before a ball was kicked today. Wouldn`t be surprised to see a few new faces in through the door early July once contracts expire and markets start properly shifting.
Still plenty of time both on the pitch and behind the scenes to get things right. If we’re sitting here a few weeks into the competitive fixtures and we’ve not strengthened, then fair enough questions should be asked. But pre season games? Never been something I’ve paid much heed to. It’s all about sharpness, experimenting with shape, and getting minutes into legs.
Not the time to panic just yet.

Totally agree with Cammy. The coach said in his interview also that the league cup matches will allow time to get a few more bodies in so their only real target for signings is the first game in the league. I appreciate everyone is spooked because the Germans didn’t bring anyone in but this regime are trying to do the right thing and NL is looking to bring in quality from all over Europe. It will take time. Pars fans were over the moon with the amount of signings brought in last January but look how that worked out. If they had found 6 or 7 players in 2 weeks that would be a worry. We just need to be patient.

Neil Lennon:
"You consider the week that they`ve had in Bulgaria, and then they played a game on Thursday, and then flew back yesterday, I was really pleased with the fitness levels, and obviously the chances we created as well.
"It was a really good pre-season game actually, so, I`m delighted with the way things are going at the minute.
"They`ve all [had] like a game, 90 minutes under their belt now, so now you start to crank things up a bit football-wise.
"It`s pre-season so they all need to get the minutes in their legs, and we have worked them very, very hard physically.
"I mean, they`ve done over 80,000 metres this week, so some of them have probably not had a pre-season like that before, but they`ll feel the benefit of it going forward."
When asked how tough it was with such a short turnaround from returning from Bulgaria to going into another match, the Pars boss added: "It was a long day yesterday, obviously flying back from Bulgaria.
"There was a few delays, and delays with the baggage as well, so some of the guys weren`t getting home to maybe six, seven o`clock last night.
"It`s obviously not ideal preparation, but it`s pre-season. Like I say, we only planned for them to play 45 (minutes) and it`s a mix-and-match as well with a lot of the younger players, and players who probably haven`t played with each other before.
"There`s going to be a few creases to iron out but, in the main, I`m delighted."

I honestly can`t see us signing 6/7 new players. I`d guess 3/4 at the most. A striker, a goalkeeper, a forward thinking midfielder and a defender that can shuffle about.
It`s all a guessing game though, so who knows. Maybe we`ll sign 10 players.

added part to the interview on the official site
"How did you think the younger players acquitted themselves?
“Really well. We’re really well, really happy with them – John Tod, Freddie Rowe (pictured above), Ewan McLeod, the Sutherlands, the young Trialist came in on trial today. He did very, very well. I can’t really knock any of them. They’ve given me everything so far. We know where they are, some of them are young – Lucas Fyfe is sixteen and he started today in the first-team game. A great experience for him but it just shows that we’ve got good depth underneath.”
A couple of trialists played today, will they be signed soon?
“They did well but no decision will be made until maybe early next week. Obviously, we want to get a lot more bodies in as well. So, there’s nothing really to tell you on the transfer front, but we’re working very hard behind the scenes to bring some quality in as well.”

Will be interesting to see if Lennon improves any of the players he inherited… didn’t see it last season so let’s see how this season goes, the longer it goes on the less signings I feel we’ll make, we need 7-8 but think we’ll get 4-5 which hopefully moves us from a struggling side to a mid table one for this season.

Kozma, the right 4 in would maybe be enough to get us in the playoffs.
The right 7 in would maybe get us in the running for a title challenge.
Very interested to see how the rest of the window develops for us.
