I`m a bit disappointed with only 3000, I maybe wrongly expected record season tickets sales with the publicity at the end of last season.
An I right to be disappointed and why is the figure lower than expected, even a lot of seats left in the NW.

In reality the pre season hasn`t kicked in a way to get the optimism running, although we played well in stages v hearts a heavy defeat in the end won`t have got the majority pumped for the season, lastly money is tighter then ever just now for many and a season ticket is a big outlay that in all honesty doesn`t hold much valve v walking up

Posted it elsewhere but I share this disappointment. When Lennon was appointed, I thought there was a momentum building and a couple of “well kent” players being signed and I thought we would be on track for record breaking numbers. In reality, we’re on par for the same numbers under McPake, so in the short term, you have to say there has been no Lennon effect.
I think the failure to heavily attract new numbers has been down to underwhelming signings, so far. That’s not me saying they are bad players, absolutely not, but 2 lads from Inverness, 2 unknowns from other countries and a youth from Dundee United, just doesn’t attract new fans or disillusioned supporters straight away.
I feel like I am having a pop, but I’m not, but I did think we would have cleared more than that by this point, and had a couple of players to help us on the way too that.

The 3000 barrier has been passed during the same calendar week as last season, which was a week later than the previous season (when we had just been promoted). Given a further year’s disappointing entertainment last season, surely it would have taken at least another week again to reach 3000 this year but for the new owner/new manager effect.

3000-3500 season tickets is about right. Neil Lennon and a new owner doesn`t magically make us a bigger team than we are. Deal with that fact.

It’s not often I agree with you mate but that pretty much sums up my thinking on it that fact that we can still manage to hit 3000 season tickets after the dung heap that was last season is impressive never mind the new manager or new owners
If people want to renew or buy their first season ticket then great if they don’t then it’s not really worth losing sleep over tbh

It would be interesting to see the breakdown of the 3000 and how many are for kids at the circa £20 level.
I’m not too surprised, I did think bringing Lennon in was an ambitious move and big sign of intent so thought this could drive ST sales but the late activity in the transfer window has probably dampened expectations and stalled sales somewhat.
Think the main reason though is that it’s just not value for money these days. We’ll still have those that buy their ST religiously but there will be more now that realise you miss one or two games then you’re better off paying at the gate and given the outlay better in their own pocket than the clubs.
And I can’t really argue with that reasoning.

Just bought STs for myself & better-half. so missed the July 2nd deadline to keep last season’s seats in south stand (basically on the halfway line). We decided to take seats nearer the 18-yard box, even though old seats hadn’t been taken yet and there were even another 2 seats available in the row in front …. might suggest that there aren’t many ‘new’ ST buyers. although perhaps come end-of-month/payday someone might take them?

To be honest I’ve always regarded the purchase of a season ticket - more of a donation than a saving on walk up prices.
Also I’m pleased the way the team is performing at the moment but still have the feeling that a marquee signing is missing.
Hope all the pre season rhetoric has not been misplaced.

Hopefully today’s result, performance and style of play can be replicated to a large degree for the Hamilton and Stirling games. If so, I think that would help dramatically in having a wee surge of ST sales prior to the league beginning proper. Coupled with a solid GK and one more experienced signing, I think we could surpass 3.5k. Let’s hope momentum can continue to build.

...... I would much rather watch Championship football than premier if you are going to be bottom 3 or 4 every season - so I can see the interest for them - they will be top 3 and Saturdays will be more fun for them than the last x number of seasons ( cup wins excepted)

Another email from the club regarding season tickets. Under 12 tickets apparently being used by adults, so as I understand the email.. all u12 season tickets have been cancelled? Until you can prove you’re not gaming the system. Absolutely ridiculous decision if so. They could simply have checks at the gate instead of asking everyone to have it sorted by close of play on Monday.

Don’t think they’ve been cancelled, there is now a specific gate they have to use. Seems to be an amnesty period for those who have tried to bump the club and get cheap tickets.

Dear Pars Supporters,
Thank you again for your outstanding support and backing. Your loyalty creates the atmosphere that makes matchdays so special, and with over 3000 season cards sold already, we know KDM Group East End Park will be a difficult place for visiting teams to come this season.
During the issuing of season cards, we have identified a concern around age-related ticketing. We are aware that a number of adult supporters may have intentionally or accidentally purchased concession or student tickets across the stadium.
We understand errors can happen, and we want to give all supporters the opportunity to correct any such issues. We are asking fans to voluntarily correct these issues by contacting the ticket office by the end of business on Monday, 4th August, to update your details with the correct ticket type and settle any outstanding season card costs.
Supporters can visit the ticket office to do face to face, or via email by contacting shop@dafc.co.uk with:
- Order ID
- Name on ticket
- Contact email address
- Seat number
This will generate a payment link that will be emailed to the email address on the season card account and allow payment to be collected. You will receive the payment link no later than close of business on Friday 8th August.
Previously printed cards will no longer be valid and a new card will be available for collection, or digital tickets redownloaded.
To ensure fairness to all fans and maintain the integrity of our pricing system, we will also be introducing enhanced ticket checks at the turnstiles starting from our first home league fixture on Saturday, 9th August.
This will also include a new verification process for under 12s to ensure appropriate access and safety for our youngest supporters. Following a review of our safeguarding policies, the club cannot allow under 12s to enter the stadium unless they are accompanied by a responsible adult who will supervise them and be seated next to them in their season card seat. There will be a separate turnstile entrance for under-12 season cards and accompanying adults. Under-12 season cards have been blocked from and will not work in any other turnstile. Anyone under 12, not accompanied by a responsible adult supervising them, will not be allowed to enter the stadium.
Any supporter caught abusing a concession tickets after 4th August, will have their Season Card cancelled

So as I understand it there will be a separate turnstile in each part of the stadium for u12’s as long as accompanied by their adult parent/carer and they must sit together.
They can’t use tickets at other turnstiles.

Unsure what`s new here. They`re saying if someone "accidentally" bought an u12 ticket they have until Monday to buy the right one. The club will then cancel the old one and they can pick up/download the new one.
U12s were always required to be accompanied by an adult as far as I`m aware. This is just making sure the adult isn`t presenting themselves as a 12 year old 😂

You`re reading it wrong mate, the previously printed cards is for those who wish to rectify there "mistake" and buy the correct season ticket. Those with a valid U12 season ticket will not need to buy another, they`ll now just enter through a seperate turnstile. This is a check on the gate.

In short, people have been chancing it and buying concession season tickets as adults, that’s the crux of it.
It’s been easy to get away with it as well as I don’t recall anyone ever inspecting my ST card.
What they’ve done is enforced U12’s with the accompanied adult to go through a specific turnstile rather than the general one. U12 tickets will not work/scan on any other turnstile.
This gives security the opportunity to ensure no one is chancing it.
Current U12 tickets are still active but if you go to the club to admit you’ve chanced it they’ll let you off but you’ll need a new card and cough up the extra…else I’m sure your card will be blocked.

Good on `em.
I`d have thought the other age/price transitions would be more of a problem than adults pretending to be primary school children. Maybe a veiled warning for the other frauds.
Hopefully they`ll also be clamping down on the guys who get a "computer says no" from the turnstile (because their mate`s been through already with the barcode) but are let in anyway.
Maybe totally unconnected, but if what I saw before the Hamilton game is anything to go by, there`s a new breed of steward in town. One that`s happy to provoke a situation then go mano-a-mano with a full grown man and deny entry.

I walked through "security" with a full rucksack into the main stand on Saturday without being challenged at all ( I had come from the gym before the game so nothing dodgy but you never know !).
Similarly, the £5 game at end of last season I had around 8 guys sat behind me who had brought a carry out in with them. They really were a pain in the bottom with some shouting racist/homophobic abuse but I never seen any steward within the entire game (on that occasion it was far east side of main stand.

Folk chancing it has been going on for years. When we started the Pars Tackle Health school visits in 2014, I asked for and got complimentary tickets for the next home game for every school kid who participated in the initiative. My thinking was that at least some of them would convince an adult to bring them along to EEP and perhaps become Pars fans. (It only took one game for me to catch the bug, a 4-0 win v St Johnstone.)
Unfortunately, the practice had to be discontinued after a few seasons, when it was discovered that some of these tickets were being used by adults.

On neither occasion was I asked for proof of age, which I found deeply upsetting ...😩
I thought these automatic gates had a system that showed a steward stationed INSIDE the stadium when a concession ticket was being used, which could then be challenged if the user looked like a member of the Saudi Arabia U16 team.
Re Wee Eck`s perfectly understandable bewilderment about so-called supporters effectively stealing from their own club, I am sure it goes on in some form every week at every club.
