Exciting signings for sure.
I can’t imagine we will keep everyone happy.
Suspect there’s a couple leaving and we needed 2 or 3 in first.
Otoo maybe? Hamilton ?
What do you all think?
Given the length of contract and age maybe Bray out on loan?

I agree
I see Hamilton being useful at slotting into midfield or defence
I agree on Bray, Kearney and KRH have been the ones getting more minutes on that side
I think Mehmet, Sam young, Sam Fisher, Keiran Ngwenya and Bray are the likely candidates..and some other youngsters..Hoggan etc.
Not sure on Cameron and Dobbie
Matt Todd maybe?

Yes, I reckon a few will have already been told they are free to find new clubs.
Ngwenya -as Raymie mentioned on another thread, 3rd choice left wing back, can`t see there being too many takers for him.
Fisher - Davidson, Otoo, Sam Young, Hamilton can all cover as a centre back. Again, can`t see there being much demand, although I think there is a decent centre back there. Obviously the court case is crucial.
Sam Young - May hang around as back up, maybe go on loan?
Matty Todd - currently 3rd4th? choice as the attacking midfielder behind Cooper, Andy Tod, Bray & Macleod. Would be sad to see him leave. I`d imagine another team in the Championship like Airdrie, Queens, Morton etc would be happy to get him.
Hamilton - can`t see it, why re-sign him in the summer? Good back up, versatile and there will be situations where his aggression is needed.
Bray - a bit surprised he hasn`t featured more. Where would he go? Back on loan to ICT? I don`t think he`ll be going anywhere, but he will need more minutes than he is getting, and there is only going to be more and more competition for the attacking places.

Don’t think Otoo will leave unless there is a decent offer, can cover a few positions.
Letting Bray go out on loan would weaken our bench.
Squad is looking strong, just need a striker.

Bray will be going nowhere. He’s not had a run in the team yet. Ngwenya will most certainly be on the way out though.
We now have more than enough cover there.
Mehmet seems happy enough to pick up a wage so will run down his contract.
Matty Todd I’m not sure about. Personally I’d keep him as what a great option to have even if not playing to bring on.
Will depend how happy he is though.
It’s a confidence thing with him I feel.

Ngwenya, fisher and Mehmet Would be who I would expect to leave at least on loan.
Some of last seasons 1st team starters are going to be lucky to make the bench.
Real competition all over the pitch apart from centre forward.

I think Otoo, Hamilton and Mehmet all have parts to play in the Pars resurgence. It`s about the squad not just first team, and I`d be very surprised if Otoo is not a significant part of our first team plans. Unless another team offers an amount of money our management team will accept. I`d rather not even countenance selling Otoo - he`s a real presence in the team.
Matty Todd - is still working his way back from injury. We know he`s class. Give him time.

Most of the names mentioned could be starters. The difference this season is there`s more fighting for those positions but it also means we`re not potentially knackering the squad. More flexibility to give a player a week off to get back to 100% rather than chucking them on when they`re only 70%.
Where it`s obvious a player`s pretty unlikely to get minutes then a loan move could make sense.

It`s a squad game.it will take a squad to compete near the top of the division. I suspect players will only go out on loan if it is good for the club and player. There will be periods in the season where all of the squad will be needed. Not sure I`d be writing anyone off just yet.i think NL and his team are better managers than that.

I wouldn’t write anyone off, the squad is a lot stronger than last season. If you want to be in the first team you’ll have to earn your spot.
I think that’s what the management want they have raised the bar of expectation & the rest is down the players.

They might send Bray out on loan but I don’t really see it happening.
If the squad is 27 then the obvious 3 for leaving are Fisher, N’gwenya and Mehmet. (I think Mehmet will sit on his contract unless he gets an offer of guaranteed football on the same money - I don’t see it happening tho) After that you could be looking at Matty Todd but I’d like to think that Matty improves with the team.
I don’t see Hammy leaving either. He’s the type of player you’ll need during a season, he’ll play anywhere you ask, all heart and will put his body on the line to help the team. Also picks up an unreal amount of free kicks.
Bene we just need to wait and see what happens with his court case but I’m sure both him and Fisher have properly done the guy in so 😬 not good for anyone!
Incoming I think we’ll see a striker and possibly another CB

Can’t see Ngwenya going anywhere tbh, he’s basically the only cover we’ve got at LWB so would be daft to punt him unless someone else is lined up. Mehmet’s as good as away though, he’s clearly 3rd choice now and you don’t keep a wage tied up in that. Fisher’s a different story – don’t think he’ll get many offers until the court stuff is sorted, clubs will steer clear until then.

Strange for some to suggest people shouldn`t discuss players possibly leaving. I can`t see anything particularly unkind that was said above, most people just stating that in most cases the players are 3rd or 4th choice in their natural position. In that situation, it is normal for guys to leave, they need and want to play.
This idea that people need to be extra careful about what they write as some players/players families read the forum is also something I don`t agree with. You should be careful and respectful with what you post regardless and I can`t understand why any player would choose to read this, or family members really.

I`ve lost count of how many players we have signed now (nice problem to have) but we STILL need another striker. Sort that and I`ll be very optimistic for this season and even more so for next given the ages in the group.

I think we’re only a striker short of being proper competitive. Another reliable option up top and I’d be more than happy with the squad. Got a good balance now between young lads with potential and a core of experienced pros who know the level. We look tougher to beat this season, so if we can find that extra bit of firepower, no reason why we can’t be in or around the play off places by the end of the season.

All close season the talk on here has been that the squad is light and needs reinforcements. Now that we have recruited a few it seems a wee bit strange to immediately start discussing who should leave does it not? According to COWS the squad now comprises 27 players of whom one is out on loan. Assuming we recruit another striker that would mean 27 available for selection.
I suppose it all depends on what size of squad NL is comfortable with and whether he feels he can keep that number of players active and happy. We`ve been quite lucky with injuries so far compared with other clubs and other seasons but who knows what might be round the corner?

Definitely think some will be moved on before the end of the window - likely loans.
Ngwenya - clearly isn`t fancied by Lennon and with Fraser arriving and Otoo able to play LWB, he`s 3rd choice now. His contract won`t be renewed at the end of the season and so may make sense for him to get games elsewhere.
Fisher - again doesn`t seem to be getting a look in. Plenty other options at CB. Court case dependant I can see him going out on loan again and likely to leave on expiry of his contract.
Mehmet - has spent half of his time with us sitting on the bench and doesn`t seem to have been a problem for him. He`s a decent backup and probably on a good wage that he would not get elsewhere. Was in the squad for the Airdrie game. Suspect he will stay.
I`d have liked us to sign another experienced CB if we`re playing three there every week, especially given Bene`s injury issues and the court case. However, with the emergence of J. Tod, and Otoo and Hamilton able to cover maybe we are sorted for now. Can see Sam Young going out on loan.
Definitely need another striker. We seem to have an abundance of attacking midfielders / number 10s - A. Tod, Todd, McLeod, Bray, Jefferson?, Cooper as well as plenty defensive midfield options. Todd may appeal to fellow Championship teams but would be sad to see him go. With Bray`s long contract a loan move may make sense for him - more likely in January dependant on his game time between now and then.
Exciting and very interesting times for fans certainly.

the video interview he also said he was working with 21 and ideally wanted 24, which is strange when the squad was at 24 players in total, maybe meaning outfield players?
in the Press before the game he also talked about "a little surgery" to the squad with adding and players going out on loan.

Despite his good form (at least in goalscoring terms), I can see Andrew Tod heading out on loan again. Don`t think he will play up front if we get another striker in, and think there are a few options ahead of him in the 10 role.
Davidson is an interesting one, did well in pre season but hasn`t figured since and wasn`t even on the bench at the weekend? He`s also agreed to do some coaching at the Joe Cardle Academy. Wonder if he is the Benedictus replacement if his court case goes against him or if his current spell of good form can`t be maintained?
I think Mehmet will stay as a) it`s good to have 3 keepers and b) there won`t be many takers for a loan with his presumed wages. With Margetts there that means 4 keepers for training too which a lot of managers like (so they can have 2 small sided games playing at the same time presumably).
Think Ngwenya could be off, that`s three managers who haven`t really rated him and despite showing up well a few times he`s never had a consistent run. Only way I can see him staying is if there are no takers or we sell Otoo down south. Matty Todd is the wildcard. You`d think every League One team would love to have him and an Airdrie or Queen`s Park or Arbroath would take him in a heartbeat too. I`d keep him as he`s a totally different type of midfielder to the rest of the squad and can play box to box or as a number 10 if needed.
My prediction is that Fisher, S Young, Ngwenya, A Tod and the genuine youngsters (Hoggan, Fyfe, etc) will be loaned out where possible.

I was still thinking we needed to add a bit of experience in amongst the team but couldn’t think of who. Reading the daily record this morning…… What would be so wrong with James McCarthy ? NL must know him…..but must be some reason he hasn’t had a club for a year………is he in similar nick to wanyama ? Or a bit injury prone ? He’s 34 and has bags of experience. I would have thought he might have been someone to add a bit of composure to our midfield ?

Ngwenya hasn`t done much wrong, but he`s too far down the pecking order now, to be honest I think he`s lacking something but can`t put my finger on it.
Seems mad that Matty Todd is also not really in the frame, but that`s the case. If we were to loan him out, it shouldn`t be to a club in our league -he would scoosh league 1, it`s a big year for him, I would be happy to keep him.

"No bloody way is Andy Tod going out on loan and listen."
He absolutely would have been at the start of the season but with the injuries etc, he`s grabbed his chance. He`s obviously chipped in with several goals but his overall play still isn`t what we need IMO and once Kane is fit and we get another striker in, he`ll be down the pecking order again. We also shouldn`t be expecting young players to maintain hot streaks all season. He needs to play rather than being 3rd/4th pick IMO and a loan to a top League One side would be ideal.
"Why is anyone suggesting we need players out on loan anyway? Lennon wants 24 players in the squad."
GK (3) - Munn, Mehmet, Terrell
DF (6) - J Tod, Benedictus, Chilokoa-Mullen, Fisher, S Young, Davidson
WB (5) - Otoo, Fraser, Ngwenya, Kearney, Ritchie-Hosler
CM (5) - Oakley-Boothe, Amade, Gilmour, Todd, Hamilton
AM (4) - Cooper, A Tod, Cáceres, Bray
ST (4) - Kane, C Young, A N Other, MacLeod
Assuming we bring in another "experienced" striker, that`s 27. And that doesn`t include Margetts, Cameron, Fyfe, Hoggan, etc who will be training with the first team but will presumably go out on loan as well.

Of that list the ones “at risk” Id say would be Mehmet, Fisher, Ngwenya and Todd in my opinion. Thats 4, meaning a squad of 23. Bene; may of course, be pushed depending on court case.
The problem is we play with 2 up top in this formation, so we 100% need 4 up there, maybe 5 with Kanes issues.

Since people are helpfully explaining that a forum is for people to express their views, here are mine: it seems like a bad idea for the fans to publicly discuss which players they would "off load" when we have barely started the season. It is likely to damage confidence. Personally I wouldn`t have started this thread.

This is a football forum that people discuss their points on view though. That`s the whole point of having a forum.. No bearing on Pars decisions within the club. Two seperate things.
Loose lips sinks ships ,as soon as we get a good owner ,management, and squad ,we have posts on people leaving ,accept the good things happening

Since people are helpfully explaining that a forum is for people to express their views, here are mine: it seems like a bad idea for the fans to publicly discuss which players they would "off load" when we have barely started the season. It is likely to damage confidence. Personally I wouldn`t have started this thread.
It doesnt matter how often you explain that. Some will just never get it.

Jesus wept 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ this place is really going to the doldrums if fans cant talk about players potentially moving on without folk taking offence 😂😂 have you never discussed with a friend a player not being good enough? Well you cant of, because thats against the rules of being a football fan…….
Christ oh mighty this place is falling apart 😂
ETA a squad of 27 with another 2-3 additions is FAR too big for this league. 24 is about right, and even then if every stats fit for the majority of the season, NL will be dealing with players not playing enough, which will be tough.
