Being a dinosauric Pars fan, I have a vague memory of a 13,000 crowd for DAFC v St Johnstone when St Johnstone were flying high and more or less their entire support showed up at EEP. This would have been maybe 40 plus years ago? Any other dinos out there who can remember that game?

It was a really good finish, really deft and in the only place the keeper couldn`t reach it. Thought Gilmour had wasted the chance playing it behind Todd rather than into space but he did well to dig a cross out and it was a lovely finish.

St Johnstone`s main tactic seems to be to play about at the back and then boot it long for Sidibeh, who is clearly their main threat and even more so with McPake missing.

What a save by Terrell! Thought that was dropping in!

Good position for the free kick, allowed enough space to get it up and down with pace in it.

From what Ive seen they have been all over us so far. Good save from Terrell from lofty header and the one that flashed across goal.

Disagree they`ve been "all over us". They`ve had plenty possession, but not done a lot with it. Having said that, level at half time is about right and we need to up it second half.

Yeah, we have been under the cosh these past twenty minutes. Neil Lennon needs to have a good talk with the lads, settle them down.

We are not linking up well between defence, midfield and attack. St Johnstone are pressing us very effectively. The result is that, far too often, our defenders are clearing in desperation rather than with some forethought about where they want to send the ball—so, the ball is being given away to any one of five Saints sitting in wait, in space, 30 to 40 yards out.

Our goal was a splendid one from Barney after some fine work on the right. The Saints` goal was very well taken, but the free kick came after a careless foot up by Charlie Gilmour, who will have to be careful now that he is carrying a yellow card.

After we scored, we lost a bit of ambition, the defense and midfield were being pushed back which disconnected the front as they`ve obviously been told to stay high. Caceres and Amade have struggled to get into the game, but overall we are still giving it a good go

Referee has been awful and didn`t help with the second goal - we were trying to make a change and Mo Hutton had the board ready with Hamilton on half way but he let them take the throw in before we could make the change.

Good point, deserved that I think. Andy Tod was immense in the latter part of the game and deserved that goal.

Need to make better use of corners and free kicks, so many today that went nowhere.

Lots of positives as the season is progressing though.

Fine game. Very tense at the end, but that`s why we love football. That point may prove crucial as the season progresses.

The Saints appear to have the depth in their squad to win the title, but we look more settled now and capable of ending the season in a playoff position.

I`m reasonably happy with that result, but that referee was dreadful.

After rushing about and getting in late but just in time for kick off then we score first against the league leaders then I’m swearing at the ref in front of Willie miller and Brian McLaughlin who are on open all mics lol

I think coming back into the game with a goal at the end against the league leaders says alot. I think they ran out of legs the last 10 minutes. You can`t ask more from Barney or Andy other than put the ball in the net. Matty Todd was our best player I thought today. He`s back to himself and the player we know is in there.

Neil Lennon made the right calls with the substitutions. Helped Pars get back into the game, just when it looked like the game was running away from us.

Great start to the game, and boy did we have a few scares before the equaliser.

At half time I felt the boos for the ref were a bit harsh...by full time I wished we had booked more. What a crap performance he had.

Unlucky not to get Infront by Matty Todd early in second half, but again we were hanging on a bit up to the goal

After which we played very well and deserved the goal and boy was it a good moment. Roof really came off

Saints are a better team, but gap isn`t huge. I think they will win the league, but a bit more experience over the season I can us beating them before the season is over

Need to start seeing more from Caceres, not impressed. Barney getting better with every game and Matty excellent

Andy Tod for international callup!

BEAST!

Small point……..corners.

If we try and play the clever corner all the time it stops being clever.

I was surprised that Lennon made some of the changes he did. I felt for Mehmet after doing little wrong last week.
The likes of Hammy too will have been disappointed not to play but I love Amade and Gilmour in the middle.
The run from Fraser in the build up to the equaliser seems to be common in games. He has been a shrewd buy.
Abdulai is a real find too.
Terrell always seems to get injured during a game but that looked to be an outstanding save in the first half from where I was stood, looked like the ball was passed him.
Credit to Lennon, makes big calls and as long as he gets them right more than he does wrong then we have to trust the process.

If we try and play the clever corner all the time it stops being clever.

Maybe try mixing it up a bit more.

I was ok with our corners today. I taken that we’d realised that slinging it across from the dead ball then Saints physicality would have prevailed so we were trying to work it to give ourselves a better chance by giving their defenders more to think about.

Only the most one-eyed Pars fan would deny that Saints were the better side and that we were slightly fortunate to çome out with a draw. Easily the best team seen at EEP this season, but why did they stop playing football during the last 15-20 mins and resort to "gamesmanship " and persistent fouling? Ultimately, that cost them 2 pts and sporting justice was done with our late equaliser.

As for the ref..... are those who officiate in the Championship competing in a race to the bottom? 🙄

How good was Robbie Fraser sliding tackle in the first half, 😉

A very good game and a good point. I too though was frustrated at our corners - Gullah had fantastic delivery for them and caused us problems. The occasional short corner is fine but surely not all the time. With Tod, Mullen and Abdulai we have a real threat but didn’t take advantage of them - I would have been frustrated if I were them.

Macleod, Hammy and Bray all did really well when they came on whereas the St Johnstone subs seemed to weaken them.

I think the reason they started fouling and using gamesmanship was they were running out of steam.

St Johnstone players in the whole were taller than our boys so throwing the ball just in the box from the corner all the time would’ve been just as fruitless.

Granted mixing it up a bit would’ve been sensible.

A point against the best team in the league, keep 4th and Morton at home next. Can’t grumble!

"How good was Robbie Fraser sliding tackle in the first half, 😉 "

Was probably the only time the ref didn`t give a foul against us for the player going to ground...

That tackle was outstanding. It really felt like he was sending a message.

Fraser`s a great wee player. It was his attacking run that sparked our second goal.

Good point in the end. The emotion in those moments when you score a winner or equaliser late in the game is impossible to replicate in any other aspect of life.

Have to say, I wasn`t very happy with the manager in the first half today. Firstly, that was not the game to leave out Chris Hamilton. I like Amade as a player, but against a fit, physical side who press hard in the first half, Hamilton is a better option. With that shape, and under pressure, both of the players in there need to play well defensively. I`d probably have done the reverse of what happened - start with Hamilton and Gilmour, and bring on Amade in the second half when the press eases off and we get more time to play. It as also far too tight with many mistakes trying to play from the back. We got nowhere with it, as we always do. I sort of get the thinking - against the more physical sides we tend to play that way, presumably because he doesn`t fancy us to win a physical battle, but it was clear very ealy that it wasn`t working and there were loads of early mistakes. I was desperate for us to settle but we never really did, even after scoring early. It was frustrating, as it wasn`t much different from the first half in the game at Perth.

Second half was better. First 20 mins were good with both sides attacking well, before we fell out of it a bit and struggled to get out of our own half. I don`t think we were doing that much wrong at that stage, we were just being outplayed by a better team. It wasn`t a big surprise when they scored to go 2-1 up, but I too was surprised that the drop off in their play after that was quite so extreme. A team will always become more defensive after getting a lead late in the game, but they pretty much stopped playing entirely. I didn`t really expect us to score, but what a feeling when we did.

In games against the Pars, St Johnstone have certainly been the best team in the league so far. They`re a bit like Livingston of last season in that they`re a strong, physical side, but they combine that with a level of play that is a a good bit better than Livingston managed. It was a good point agaisnt a decent team.

I’ve no time to read through all the comments so I’ll leave you with my overall opinion of today.
Did we deserve to win?
Not a chance.
Saints took right over after we scored the first.
They were more savvy up top than us and credit to our defence we still had something to cling onto much like the last game in Perth.
The spirit of our team got us through this as we looked disjointed at times giving silly balls away but speaking purely as a fan, the joy on the Stadium more than made up for anything when we equalised.
It was a combination of a frustration at the referee and linesman and a sense of injustice plus the goal which made it special.

I really enjoyed the match and having a rant.

I thought they ran out of legs and resorted to fouling. They were quite cute in stopping us playing and wete lucky with refereeing decisions the last 20 minutes. We were poor first half, gave the too much room in midfield but I think that`s because St J worked hard in the middle and ran out of steam at the end.

Today was a milestone in attitude I thought. The attitude to keep going, believe that you can score even in the last few minutes speaks volumes. It speaks for self belief and teamwork. You can have good players but it doesn`t necessarily make you a good team. I saw today a good team, who maintained concentration despite some of the refereeing decisions. It was St J I thought who blinked first towards the end of the game. We are only going to get better as the season goes on, and grow in confidence. You reap what you sow.
