Belarus gave Scotland a get-out-of-jail card. Let`s hope they make the most of it tonight. A one off game with home advantage represents a far better chance of progress than two play off games which are unlikely to be both at Hampden.

McLean definitely the right choice when ahead. Different if we still needed a goal, but no point putting another out and out striker on when defending a lead.

It`s not negative though, its a midfielder for a midfielder.

I don`t see how that was a penalty. Robbo had a foot on the line, but the Dane had no part of himself in the box. Does Robbo`s body count as a continuation of the Dane`s? Well we got recompense with the sending off. I knew we`d start playing more attacking if they scored. Boy, we`ve got some spirit, and cohesion -just as important. Mega achievement.

Clarke has to go. Would rather not lose than try to win a game.
He had 2 strikers on the pitch at this point 😂

By far the craziest Scotland game I`ve ever been to.
Absolute bedlam for every (excellent) goal & at the end. Thought we`d blown it once again at 2 2.
I still have no words, but WE`RE GOING TO THE WORLD CUP (and I need to win the lottery lol)

Well, that was totally bonkers! Delighted that I`ll have at least ONE team to support next summer. I`m not at all confident that Italy will make it. Giovanni Trapattoni used to say, "There`s no 2 without 3." 😱
Not your average Sunday League player.

That is why we have a love/hate relationship with football. The best sport bar none. Brilliant just brilliant. The cheers from every house in the street was incredible, just incredible. Well done Steve and the boys. Will be in Gran Canaria when it’s on. Gonna be some holiday. Hope my wife understands 🏴🏴

A great night of football from Scotlands perspective. It shows what teamwork, resilience and belief can do. A night that the players will always remember.

it goes further than last night. 60 minutes in Athens and 3-0 down, almost losing the pulse but then quick fire double in the game for us to give it life and the swing in Copenhagen to get the fans believing again and carrying into last night to then produce the biggest 90minute rollercoaster i`ll ever witness.
Qualifying vs Serbia in lockdown was special given how long it had been since a tournament and in 2023 when we were sitting at home between games felt good at the time but nothing will ever beat the drama and emotion of last night

Hopefully a positive knock-on vibe for our internationalists on Saturday. Goals from Barney McTominay, Chris Shankland, Shea Tiernan and Matty McLean.

Spent most of the day watching aw the videos from last night, in pubs and at the ground. Nearly everyone is the same, with King Kenny the 2nd`s goal, FFS REF BLAW THE FKIN WHISTLE, BLAW THAT WHIST-YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS and then pandemonium.
Amazing footage

Ive been watching the game over again tonight too Big T. Christiansen was lucky not to be sent off in the first half. He had 2 yellow card worthy fouls on John McGinn before half time and only one of them was carded. He was obviously skating on thin ice and when je barged into McGinn for a second yellow it was poetic justice that he got the second yellow. No sympathy for him at all, McGinn was running him ragged and his fouls were cynical. Our Scottish commentators did us no service at all by insisting the second yellow wasn`t justified.

Was it in The Scottish Pub? We were in there before the BVB game and we got talking to a couple of lasses, they were absolutely steamboats and a great laugh. Turned out, they were from Dunfermline 😅

With the QP v RC game off I had a look at the highlights of Tuesday`s game. I don`t think much has been said about Denmark`s contributions to their own downfall.
In the build-up to our first goal a Danish defender, in attempting to clear his lines, passes the ball straight to Gannon-Doak who promptly provides the cross for McTominay`s bicycle kick. Then, in added time the Danish no 21 sclaffs his clearance from the edge of their box straight to Keiran Tierney who takes advantage by hitting the ball first-time past Schmeichel.

Did you shake it all night long Big T?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckgd2nywde4o
In a strange coincidence, the comparison with the fastest blooter of a football in that article is reported as happening in a game involving Sporting Club de Portugal which is the current club of.....
Number 21 (Hjulmand) who got a score of 4.9 on FotMob which actually seems generous as only one mistake which led to a goal was attributed to him. Not a good day at the office.....

Something I didn’t realise after McLean’s goal was that there was no restart. Was it because it had gone well past the extra time? I saw the ref and assistant refs walking off the pitch but didn’t hear a FT whistle either?

Think ref blew whistle when players reached the corner, nobody realised though because of the absolute bedlam that was ensuing. I noticed the West Side linesman running towards the centre about 10 seconds after the goal so assumed he had blown then.

One of the commentary teams managed to keep some element of professionalism and mentioned he had blown full time while the rest of us were losing it (I wouldn`t have known but watching it the next day).
