It was the starting line-up against SJ but a few thought Hammy should have started, probably instead of Amade.

For me I would stick with 3 at the back. We are quite flexible now and could easily switch to a 4 if not working.

Terrell GK

J.Tod LCB
Abdulai CB
JCM RCB

Todd RWB
Fraser LWB

Hamilton CM
Gilmour CM

Bray AM

Stewart TM
A.Tod ST

Understood the Hammy shouts for saints game as Amade has been a bit off it recently but I think this is a game where we need quality on the ball and Amade gives you that. Big game for Caceres, these are the type he should be shining in.

Watching on Pars TV, it seems to be quite foggy.

Edit: It seems that the cold is affecting the camera. :)

Deserved half-time lead, but needed Billy to make two excellent blocks after unforced defensive errors. Great goal, cross by Fraser and run by Gilmou sublime. Definitely need at least a second goal to get the 3 points.

A good win against a decent Morton side. We managed the game very well in the second half and didn’t have too many worries.

Macleod made a difference, I thought.

Agree with Raymie - a couple of times Caceres found space in the box but ball wasn`t passed to him. Perhaps Andy Tod could have passed rather than shooting a couple of times. Caceres had some nice touches early on. Lots of good performances today against a niggly team and a poor ref that rarely awarded free kicks. Hard to pick a MoM but I thought Terrell, Abdulai, Fraser and Hammy were great today. Comrie denied us from scoring more twice.

Agree Caceres was in space in the box. A bit more vision when crossing and would have scored today

Phew!! Billy (that last-minute `punch` excepted) was great. In fact whole defence was solid, with Robbie Fraser deservedly getting MoM. Also thought that Chris Hamilton (much maligned by me, must admit) had what I thought was his best ever game in a Pars jersey. Well done! Looking at other results, we are well on the way to a play-off slot. Would be ironic if we did St Johnstone a favour in midweek!

Thought it was a pretty poor performance today, attacking wise especially. Defence was solid though. Was not pretty but a good three points.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

It`s the type of game today where you have to dig out a result. I thought we did that well today. Points win prizes.

I was getting nervous towards the end. Not sure the HT sub did us any favours and it felt like there were too many poor decisions made that turned attack into defence.
Thought Hammy and John Tod did well and the defence generally kept their forwards in check.
Abdulai looks v athletic and assured in the air but his passing is a weakness.

Thought going to the game today these are the games we need to win if we are to achieve top 4. Not a classic but the team stuck to the task & dug the result out.

Well done Pars……

IMO Pars deserved the win, but they made things difficult for themselves. A handful of poor clearances. A handful of misplaced passes.

Great result, team passing confidently but maybe overpassing when in around Mortons goal and ball ending up back around our defence. A 2nd goal everyone wanted and ended up 5 mins at end pinned back. Still quality on bench and returning players soon pars are in good place just now.

The positives: Great to be two wins and a draw from the last 3. Fixtures which looked difficult on paper. Still another to come on Tuesday but a great return so far.

The pitch was looking great, really holding up well despite the rain.

I thought the back three, Chris Hamilton and Billy Terrell were excellent.

Todd and Fraser were good again. Fraser maybe didn`t get forward as much this week but when he does he links well with Tod.

The negatives: The rest of the team and the shape particularly was a bit of a struggle to watch IMO. Too often early on the front three were miles away from the rest of the team. I get them staying up but I`d like them to stretch teams a bit or one drop in.

Bringing Chris Kane on seemed a logical move but you could see all the players talking and looking confused about who was playing where when it happened. I thought it actually made us worse.

Onwards to Tuesday were a win or a draw would see us move from 5th to 3rd.

As for the Pars, I`m exceedingly pleased with the three points today, The Ton have improved a lot, if you recall their last game out they went to Dingwall and gubbed Ross County 3 nil.

Lewis McCann I`m a fan, for the heart and soul he put into it, but we better no get started!

Back to the present and future - yes, delighted with today`s result, and for Hammy, being captain seems to bring out the best in him.

Noticed the way Imrie went round our players at the end of the game congratulating them.

Not just a token handshake either, looked like he spoke to a good few of them. Classy touch especially after a loss.

A hard fought but deserved win. I thought we should have had the game done and dusted by half-time. A second goal would have been a truer reflection of our superiority. Chances created were missed or lost by poor decision-making or over elaboration in the final third and by some good goalkeeping.

Speaking of goalkeeping, I hope we`re already speaking to Billy Terrell about a new, extended contract. He`s the best we`ve had in quite a while. Brave, decisive, confident, good shot stopper, and excellent distribution with hands and feet. Saved us a few times yesterday.

Agree about Terrell. He took a few more risks with people bearing down on him than I was comfortable with yesterday, especially on a slippery pitch, but he is definitely a very good example of a modern keeper.

I think that yesterday`s result highlights some important points;
1. We stood up to a physical side
2. We scored early but had the resilience to hold that lead for 90 minutes
3. Despite going a goal up we pressed for more goals
4. I see improvement in the players across the team.
5. We have goal scoring options across the park
6. We played well as a team

He’s also really good at reading the game and coming out of his box to clear the ball. I agree he’s the best keeper we’ve had in quite a while, and what a difference it makes having a good keeper.
