After the first two ties had been drawn my first thought was that we were going to get one of the OF, so ingrained is the idea that they would be kept apart.

Got this from BBC
Cup holders Aberdeen continue their defence of the trophy at home to high-flying Motherwell at Pittodrie. Aberdeen have never beaten Motherwell at Pittodrie in five previous meetings in the Scottish Cup, with three draws (including a 5-5 in February 1953!) and two losses.
Going by form I would say we will be facing Motherwell, but games have been pretty close well won a league cup tie at Pittodrie in September then following league fixture beat them 2-0 at fir park. Next game was 1-1 up at Aberdeen. Now they are going 2 games in a trot in cup and league.
I expect it to be really close 0-1 or a draw then Well to run out winners in ET.
Both are beatable if our young team play as well as we can and did against Hibs.

We need a few things to go our way to win this tie regardless who it’s against. We need to be at our best. Take any chances we get. Hope the opposition have an off day and some luck on our side. The draw could’ve been far worse. Either way will be a great day with packed stadium.

That was about as good as it could be for us.
We now have a run of four home games in 15 days coming up. Queens Park at the end of the month, the rearranged Ross County game on the Tuesday, the cup game then The Rovers.
Need to rediscover that old Fortress East End spirit.
From the Airdrie game onwards that`s also home six out seven Saturdays/weekends.
Edit: cup not necessarily Saturday.

That`s not too bad. Partick or St Mirren at home would have been better but happy enough.
The one really annoying thing is that we`ve got a rearranged game against Ross County the Tuesday before it. Obviously we hadn`t made it through when the game was arranged, but the first thing I did when I saw the game rearranged was check how it might fit with this round of the cup. Not ideal at all, especially if we end up playing our cup game on the Friday.
Another good reason to want it to be Aberdeen - they have a game against Celtic on the Wednesday before it. That might help a bit if the TV selections are finalised before Aberdeen-Motherwell is played, as we couldn`t be scheduled for Friday night in that case.

Surprisingly, in the last 50 years there`s only been 6 OF Scottish Cup finals.
On the one hand, it`s an indictment of the spirit of teams outside the OF.
On the other, I wonder how many times Celtic and Rangers met and knocked each other out on the way to other finals. It`s too early in the morning to look deeply into it 😂

Brilliant to be on the draw, and just brilliant to have a home tie. The club is on the up, and another rocking full house is great news for every Pars fan.
These young lads have a lot of potential, being looked after by an ambitious manager and board. What a great opportunity for them - a free hit!

Season ticket holders had several days to buy their seats before the public sale for the Hibs game. It will be the same for this match

I’m guessing the Kelty game was different as the NW was closed so denying some ST holders from taking their usual seats. Should be ok for the next round.
