Wow, I`m surprised. I didn`t think they would bring quite as big a travelling support as hibs, due to it being a Saturday night, and a fair trek back up the road.
Fair play, that`s a good chunk of ticket money for the club

I`m not surprised. Aberdeen always travel well and also have a large fanbase scattered across the Central belt. Plus the cup is the only thing they have left this season.

I’d hope that we can sell out the entirety of what they’ve not been initially allocated, meaning the main stand east too. I get we’ve been crap in recent weeks but it’s a cup QF at home against a big (but beatable) team.

Was their initial allocation on sale today including the NE, or just the East? Just wonder if they sold one stand today to then open the next by section.

Aberdeen have initially been given the east and north east. east wing of the main stand is currently not on sale to either club, guess we want to see how home sales go before realising then.
Their tickets have been on sale since yesterday with phases based on points, they sold out on the final stage before general sale.

Amazing!!
The club is pleased to announce that the south east wing of the main stand will go on sale to Pars fans tomorrow at 10am.
Following your outstanding backing, we have sold over 9500 tickets for Saturday’s Scottish Gas Scottish Cup quarter-final with Aberdeen.
Nearly 6,000 Pars supporters have already purchased their tickets, and with the north west stand sold out and few tickets remaining for home fans across the rest of the stadium, we are pleased to now release around an extra 650 seats for home fans to purchase.
No further tickets will be available once the south east wing sells out.
Thank you again for your backing.
🎟️ Tickets on sale 10am, Monday 2nd March.

A similar history question from me...I usually sit in the NW as I quite like being pitch side. I always think it`s a shame there aren`t fans in the south enclosures regularly. Does anyone know the reason why they stopped being sold?

I`m struggling to remember why, I can remember them taking out the red bucket seats from one of the enclosures, I was briefly helping cleaning the seats in the stand etc a few years ago, and I briefly thought a few would look great in the garden, then realised they wouldn`t! I`m assuming it was never really open because access or safety?
I seem to remember the youth teams sat there- a couple dozen at most. Certainly it would need a licence for any numbers, probably not worth it.
When I was wee- over 50 years ago ( Jesus where did it go...) now and again would watch from there when it was just an enclosure, when you saw the teams coming out from the centre - the last time I remember watching from there was when George Best played at EEP!
If we ever go up, we should look at trying to fill that in, would fill up the stadium nicely, not being biased, it`s a great stadium!

I think it`s a security measure. You often see it in the bigger matches on TV, the first 2 or 3 rows are empty, sometimes with safety netting over them.
I guess maybe it`s to stop fans encroaching the pitch if they score?

In european games ofter teams cant use the first 3 rows due to the extra height of the electronic advertising boards, maybe the same at EEP for big games .

I’m sure it’s nothing to do with security and it’s to do with the electronic advertising boards that are put up for these televised games being a restricted to no view.

I did wonder if it was something like that. Feels like a shame but it is what it is I guess. Welcome to the future.

the extra boards have never been behind the goals at EEP, i doubt that has changed for this upcoming game.

10 or so seats are taken out by the camera in the North West. Always affects my season ticket seat not being sold (although its still accessible).

The front 3 rows of the Norrie not being on sale will account for a good few hundred of that gap. Similar at the away end? It`s pretty strange...
I think it`s a security measure. You often see it in the bigger matches on TV, the first 2 or 3 rows are empty, sometimes with safety netting over them.
I guess maybe it`s to stop fans encroaching the pitch if they score?
Didn`t stop the kid a few weeks ago running on then getting carted away after doing his ankle.

And it won’t stop anyone from doing it on Saturday if we bang in a last minute winner again it’s maybe a different security company at east end now but it’s mostly the same clueless idiots who work for them

Tbf, it`s become quite pathetic over the last few years.
At the Airdrie game a few weeks ago, I had to leave quite early. The guy at the door couldn`t figure out how the push bar worked. I had to take over and give it a shove. No big deal, but if there was a fire and several hundred folk running down the stairs, it isn`t a nice thought.
Between a language/dialect difference, and a lack of awareness of football culture, more often than not the stewards (or whatever they are called now) are nowt more than coat hooks. If you don`t know where your seat is, guarantee neither do they. If anyone`s had a bit too much ale, or there`s a bit of disagreement, these young folk have absolutely no clue how to resolve the situation.
Nothing against any of them personally, but having stewards at the ground has more or less become a pointless exercise now.
Having a fluorescent jacket on display, and having someone capable of doing the job in the heat of the moment are 2 different things.

It sounds very much like it is a training issue? I would direct your complaints to the SLO

Every job regardless of salary will have a basic amount of training..I would imagine all clubs will have similar protocols to follow before putting a steward on the job.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Pretty sure all matchday saftey staff must have a valid SIA certification which in itself costs around £200 covering you for 3 years

They do. They`re not allowed to work at a game unless they are SIA accredited.

Aberdeen look quite good in the second half with clever interchanges.
We have to get close to them on Saturday to force mistakes.

similarly Tony Doc was at EEP on tuesday watching us (and being abused by some ross country fans)
Olusanya will be a big threat on saturday with his pace and power if not always having an end product he is a danger.

Yeah I thought both Olusanya and Nisbet were standouts last night. Although in fairness, most of the squad looked fairly decent. Hopefully they got their "good game" out their system last night, and don`t turn up on Saturday

I recall the friendly a couple of years ago against St Mirren. Olusanya caused our defence major problems, first time I could recall Bene really struggling. Sure he scored their goal. Was glad he went off at HT

I thought Lyall Cameron was the stand out last night, I assume as hes on loan, he is not cup tied, Frame looked good going down the left , JCM or Todd if a five , will need help down that side .

VAR is an inbuilt system used at all Premier League grounds costing thousands.
It’s not something that can just be transported to the championship teams for a one off cup match

Is it maybe the press box?
Infact, it can't be as press box is a few rows.

External parties potentially, ie Scouts etc...
Not sure where BBC sit at EEP but I know at Livingston we always block off a back row for them as well.
