Has posted a leaving post on his Facebook page.
Saying it’s a tough decision but he’s moving on to challenge himself.

Gutted but well done to him. I hope wherever he`s off to works out...unless it`s Falkirk or Championship opposition.

All the best to Matty, if he`s talking about challenging himself then I assume he`s moving on to play at a higher level. Great professional, and he has everything he needs to really kick on and be a top player

Pretty gutted but if he`s going to a top flight team then you really can`t blame him.
Best wishes to him ⚽️⚽️❤️❤️

His post makes it sound like he`s stepping up a level. Good on him.
I`ll be sad to see him go, but I think we can recruit a decent enough replacement. There are other players I`d prefer to keep.

I hope he`s moving down to England to play in League One or Two.
I`d love to have him at Barnet, but more likely he`s going to the bottom half of the Premiership.
Good luck to him, looked out of the picture, but worked his way into the first team, and has earned his move away.

If he was to head to Perth, yes it’s a step up league wise but I feel it’s far from challenging himself.
Down south would be the correct move for him, if Lewis McCann can do it, so can he.

If you listen to the inside athletic podcast with Matty he more or less says he will leave as he wanted to play at a higher level, it was in discussion about how well Josh Edwards was doing at Charlton so it comes as no surprise to me.
Good luck to him.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

I don`t think this`ll be the last bit of disappointing news this summer, but it`s part of the reality of where we are. Fair play to him if he wants to have a go at the Premiership or down south. If we do end up seeing a few players leave to higher levels, fingers crossed it shows that we`re a good place for players to build their profile, which is always a positive for recruitment.

Not too bothered about Matty leaving. I did like him,
but he wants to move on. We still have some really
good players in contract and im sure Neil will bring in
someone just as good as Matty.

Not surprising given the delay in announcements. Probably the first of a few. Better to be clear where you stand early on. I wish him well. It open up the opportunity to recruit someone new.

"The Fifers tabled a substantial offer in their discussions with Todd, who Courier Sport understands would have become one of the club’s top earners.
But he is instead intent on finding a fresh challenge elsewhere.
Premiership sides and teams south of the border are believed to be amongst those interested in the versatile midfielder."
"It is understood the Pars expect to make a formal announcement at the end of this week when discussions with all players have taken place."

Par 33, Lewis McCann is a poor comparison. He will be out of contract in a few days and has failed to establish himself at Fleetwood, mainly due to injury. I hope Matty Todd actually kicks on and proves he can be constant with performances.

According to both transfermarket and wikipedia Lewis McCann`s contract at Fleetwood has another year to run.
Good luck to Matty. It`s a shame he wasn`t on a longer contract and we coiuld have negotiated a fee but that`s with the benefit of hindsight.

No blame on either side here - sounds like the club made a decent offer inside the wage structure, and Todd has decided he can do better elsewhere and wants to challenge himself at a higher level.
I`d say he`s good enough for the top end of League 2, or the bottom half of League One, so hope he ends up there.

Sad to lose a player who has been so consistent over the years. He’s been absolutely superb this year, & hopefully he can get himself a decent move down south. He’s easily good enough to play league 1.

He’ll get a decent signing on fee that could set him up and a good salary to match if he goes to the Prem or England. Having had a serious injury not so long ago it’s probably made him think about his future. I don’t blame him and hope it works out well.

Not sure that`s a big step up like Edwards, however if that`s his choice, so be it.
He certainly contributed in a Pars jersey.

not sure when you wanted announcements... we are barely 72 hours on from one of the biggest games in the club history. Announce pre match that half the starting line up arent getting deals?

Did anyone notice the drop off in results at Charlton this year after Josh was injured? Coincidence or maybe he was the driver behind a lot of the team’s performances. That is an English Championship team so I see no reason Matty could not get involved in the Championship. Great servant to us. Was hoping even a testimonial but these are few and far between these days at the Pars.

Good luck wherever Matty goes, plenty memories, and he leaves on great terms.
It`s great that he has picked up, football is fleeting and brutal, it could easily have gone the other way if he picked up another injury.
I like it when players test themselves, hope it`s a Prem team or league 1- if it`s English that could change his life
As for statements....well I guess it`s quiet, but all the players will be under contract for another few days? The club will give the players dignity surely and announce at the right time, or allow players to announce themselves.

Yeah. There was no point announcing things before the final.
We could have potentially qualified for Europe next season which could have swayed players possibly leaving us to stay.

No disrespect intended, but instead of saying `I want to test myself at the highest level I can` why can`t footballers come clean and say `I want to make as much money from the game as possible`? Everybody knows that`s how football works and no one would blame them for it.

Well...the two go hand in hand. A higher level generally means more money, doesn`t really need to be said.
