Not much praise for Neil Lennon in Hamilton`s post. He seems to prefer McPake. Seems a bit sad for a loyal club servant.

NL has not really played him, or offered him a new contract, so I can`t imagine he would get much praise in that situation?

James made him vice captain after signing him and he hardly put a foot wrong. Just because things didn’t work out in the end doesn’t mean he wasn’t well liked.

He said more about McPake as it was him who signed him and made him VC. He also thanks Lennon and others. A truly class statement IMO.

I think his statement is really good, and putting on a brave face when I imagine he`ll be hurting - it`s like the end of a love affair for him - he didn`t want to go, he`s not going so as to move up a level, nor for more dosh.
I hope he`ll be made welcome any time he comes to EEP - even if he`s playing against us. In my mind he`s one of the players who was a true Par. I hope he`s happy and appreciated wherever he goes.

Genuinely all the best to him. Must be awful being released from your hometown team. Everyone dreams of being. Roy Barry, a Tod, French, Paton etc at their team, just rarely pans out.
If he`s ever back at EEP I`ll applaud him, until his inevitable yellow then it`s Boooooooooooooooo 😂

It’s really strange to have players like Beni still in conversation whilst letting Hamilton, a man who bleeds black and white, go.
Always felt anytime TOB stepped on the park whilst Hamilton was benched that he was being done a disservice.
Loved him and I’m pretty sure will hate him just as much if and when he gets to do his thing against us!

You can see that Neil Lennon looks to prefer people that can play with the ball at their feet more than players like a Hamilton that is going to come in and break a game up when needed I think the strange thing about letting him go is that looking at this season you could see he was massively improving with the ball at his feet and finding passes that no one else really was I think it’s the same reason that he prefers matty Todd or Kearney at right wing back

Strange point to make. Lennon is literally getting rid of him, what sort of praise would you expect?
In general, I`d rather he stayed than Bene. Young player, loves the club and puts his body on the line. However, based on who the owners/Lennon brought in last year, I`m hopeful they have a few decent targets.

From what I`ve observed on a few occasions, Bene and Hammy are good mates. I wouldn`t be surprised to see them together again at some point in the future, either playing for a Championship / League One side or in Manager / Assistant Manager roles.

IMO I thought Hammy was worth another 1 year deal. If you are being overrun in midfield, Hammy is the go-to guy to break up the opposition`s play. I also felt his passing game was much improved.

Chris put everything on the park for our team and I’m personally sad to see him move on.
The fans appreciated his efforts while knowing he wasn’t the best quality of midfielder we have but that when the chips were down he’d come on and give the rest that kick up the erse.
I wish Hammy all the very best in his future career.

I thought he should have been played more this season. He always gave 100%. It`s a shame that NL couldn`t see that. I wasn`t criticising Lennon particularly because he`s been amazing since he came in. Just pointing out that loyal club servants like Hamilton don`t get the credit they deserve.

Ross County Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Chris Hamilton!
The 24-year-old joins the Staggies following the expiration of his contract with Dunfermline Athletic.
Hamilton, who operates as a holding midfielder, joins following a successful stint with Dunfermline, where the Pars last season reached the Scottish Cup final.
Chris has been a key player for the Fife side, making over 150 appearances since signing in 2022.
Hamilton, a League One winner with Dunfermline, now puts pen to paper in Dingwall for the next stage of his career.
Hamilton has a strong footballing background, coming through the Heart of Midlothian academy as well as representing Scotland all throughout the youth levels.
At just 24, Chris has already made over 200 career appearances and has captained the Pars on countless occasions, developing a real leadership and hard-working nature which reflects in his play.
On the signing of the midfielder, Manager Stuart Kettlewell said: “I’m delighted to get Chris in the door.
“He encapsulates the type of player we need to go and be competitive this season, as well as helping to reset the culture here.
“He brings leadership and a tireless work ethic.
“Chris wears his heart on his sleeve, and I believe our supporters will respond to that and enjoy having a player like that in the team.
“Importantly, Chris also brings real quality in the middle of the park, as well as being able to play in a number of different positions across the backline.
“Chris is a player who has gained promotion from this division, as well as having successful loan spells with Dumbarton and with Arbroath in the Championship.
“He’s also coming off the back of a very successful season with Dunfermline, where he’s reached the Scottish Cup final.
“I’m really looking forward to having Chris here and working with him.”
*Move subject to SFA Approval.

That`s Chris Hamilton in a nutshell and he will drive standards all round.
I wondered if Ross County or Inverness might be a good loan move for someone like Keith Bray. Both good for different reasons.

Absolutely love Hammy and going to miss his intensity and devotion to the club, he`s given us a lot of happy memories.
I think it`s been clear for a while we need upgrades in midfield outside of Gilmour and Amade. Which unfortunately meant it was time for Hammy to move on, he should be a great signing for County in League 1 and has more guts than their entire squad last season combined.
