I`m not his biggest fan, but he was the best player yesterday. He didn`t have anything to do defensively, so had a lot of freedom to bomb forward. He put in some amount of crosses. Admittedly most of them were terrible. If he can work on his crossing he could be a good Championship player

Two Ayr centre halfs were MOTM.

Fraser probably best for us. Wouldn`t say anyone was massively better than anyone else though.

Amade did play well yesterday, especially first half.

Fraser probably was the best overall but did put a lot of poor crosses in from promising positions in the second half.

I think Fraser is a great LB. We’ve done brilliantly to get him.

I’m glad someone is appreciating Amade as well because I think he can pick passes and create things that nobody else in our squad can, I just wish he’d cut out the lapses in concentration. 1 moment he’s turning his opponent and putting someone in the next he’s rolling it softly to the opposition.

I`d like to see Amade having a go from the edge of the box a bit more this season instead of squaring the ball and losing a bit of momentum. He has 5 or 6 goals in him I think.

Amade would prolly be better for me higher up the pitch imo

Fraser has been one of the club’s best signings in a long time, consistently sound performances.

Fraser has been a great signing and the epitome of Mr Consistent.

I do think though that Ayr identified the back post for corners as a weakness of ours. Robinson and Fraser ain’t the biggest so it was no surprise that’s where their corners were hit that led to the goal..

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Before the game on Saturday, Charlie Gilmour said that Robbie Fraser was the best player at the club.

You know if teams let players stand by the posts , loads of goals would be prevented.

When defending a corner we should have a player on both posts. It used to be the norm for all teams but I have seen lots of examples in recent years of goals being scored from corners that could possibly have been prevented with someone on the post.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

absolutely nothing to do it, its a set piece, they arent going to be in the same position as if its in open play.

as for Fraser, his delivery was poor on Saturday.

Amade is a player I rate highly. He often finds himself in a good position at the edge of the box but he is very reticent to shoot, instead looking for a pass that is sometimes not on. This is my biggest gripe with him, but he’s a very good player.

Amade for me, although there were a few mis passes. Fraser was excellent, but Crosses could be better

Amades ball out to Kearney was worth the entry fee. There were a few much simpler passes though that he`ll be annoyed at himself for misplacing.

In relation to shooting, on Saturday he was often running across the box right to left where it would be more natural to shoot with the left but he didn`t seem to want to do that. It would be good if there had been a run from deep by someone else to take the shot.

I`m sure he`ll score a goal of the season contender at some point this season.

This! I nearly done a solo pitch invasion when Ryan Williamson scored his only goal for us.

On Amade, his diagonal balls are nothing short of world class at times.

That’s true. You wonder why he won’t take a shot on? He strikes a good, clean ball.

When Amade sets himself for a shot at goal he never looks as if he believes he`ll hit the target. You would hope this would be addressed in training but I`ve seen no improvement in the time he`s been here.

Thats my view we eck. I would put Charlie in the same category. If you dont have an attempt on goal your failure rate is 100%. At least have a go with the courage of your convictions. Hit the target and you have a chance ie rebound, keeper error, deflection etc.if it misses the target, you have announced to the opposition your intent. Its a game of psychology and probabilities.

I actually see a progression in Fraser’s delivery. He would put a decent ball in but he’s really started putting them in with pace. He was the only one that really offered any sort of cross on Saturday so fair enough they weren’t all great, a couple were poor but he was the only one doing it tbf

I suspect Fraser was under instructions from NL to sling in low crosses into the penalty area in the second half - Ayr defenders were blocking them though.

The problem was getting past the first defender as Ayr flooded the box particularly as the game was slowed down. I suppose its about putting the ball into zones in the box, but also getting the ball in early or quicker to make defenders defend the ball running back to their own goal.

Agree and also the Ayr centre backs positioned themselves very well. That’s exactly where one should be. Around the front of the six yard box.
