The Proclaimers will travel up from their Kent homes to perform “Cap in Hand” at Alex Salmond’s memorial service in St Giles cathedral. Another excruciating pro Indy dirge.
But will they get they fly /get the train up or walk five hundred miles heh heh

Respect and Parboiled are two words that don`t go hand in hand.
He`ll be telling us next he`s been up to take a slash on Alex Salmond`s grave

Surely your not an expat if you live in England though as we are all part of “Great” Britain?

Good point Dave though I do like the idea of Parboiled having to refer to himself as an expat.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Well if the Proclaimers are expats because they were born in Scotland but live in England then surely the reverse applies to someone born in England but living in Scotland?
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

I refuse to use the term expats. They are immigrants

‘Cap in Hand’ has the lyric:
‘I can understand why Stranraer lie so lowly - they could save a lot of points by signing Hibs’ goalie.’
Salmond was a Jambo, so hopefully they change those lyrics.

Would rather listen to a cat get boiled alive that listen to that pair "sing"
Sean Connery was one. Loved telling people how amazing Scotland was......from his house in Spain.
Legend of a man though to be fair.

What about the great British patriots who have left to live elsewhere at some time, usually to avoid paying UK tax? Mick Jagger, Michael Caine, Lewis Hamilton and various sportsmen spring to mind. And don't forget Rod Stewart. He may support Celtic and Scotland but he has no allegiance to Scottish independence.
What a reflection on the Unionists that a thread like this is triggered by a Remembrance Service for Alex Salmond.

I think Michael Caine is the only of those 4 that was pro-Brexit.

Does supporting the Scotland football team mean you have to swear allegiance to Scottish independence?
