Of course it does, everybody and their dug knows that. Some shops sell the same product (much) cheaper than others.
But did you know different branches of the same shop sometimes sell exactly the same product at different prices? I thought that was pure fantasy until now. I`d been told that St Leonard`s Asda is cheaper than the Halbeath branch. Today I discovered that to be true for some goods.
I wonder what justification they can offer for that?

Well, it`s obvious... they are all cheapskates doon the west end of Dunfy City. The east end folk happily flash the cash.

Asda at Leonards has been cheaper than Asda halbeath for a long time.
I always assumed it was to do with asda halbeath being bigger and more staff , higher leccy usage etc...

How do they do that when prices are set nationally?
Halbeath may be bigger but it also caters for a larger group of shoppers so probably works out cheaper.

Aye, Oz. All the rich toffs from Crossgates, Hill of Beath, Cowdengelly, Ballingry and Kelty, will all shop in Halbeath Asda as it`s more convenient than the St Leonard`s store. 😉

I noticed a while back that the Coop in Crossford was more expensive than the one on Linburn Road for certain items.That was a couple of years ago so not sure if it`s still the case.

I hope you don`t think I`m making it up, fcda? I`m not keen to give too many examples in case the manager at the cheaper store reads this thread and puts the prices up.
I`ll give you one. A lump of cheese at Halbeath was £5.50. An identical one at St Leonard`s is £5. Btw, 6 months ago, it was £3.80. 😞

Last month I filled up with fuel at a Tesco in Glasgow,on the way home wife asked me to Nick into Tesco at Duloch,while there I checked the fuel cost- 10p per litre dearer in Dunfermline!

Duloch Tesco is always more expensive petrol wise. If you`re headed towards Edinburgh then use the S.Queensferry one for petrol as it`s usually 5p/l cheaper. I suspect Tesco are more than aware that the nearest alternative is ASDA who don`t sell premium unleaded. Once they open a petrol station up by Dobbies you`ll see the price suddenly drop.

Makes sense.I nipped in to buy cigarettes one day and they were far more expensive there than anywhere else.
