Andrius Skerla

Signed for his local team Zalgiris Vilnius at 17 in 1995. He went on to play in the UEFA cup against Aberdeen, and to win the Lithuanian national league in 1996. After making 41 appearances for Zalgiris and scoring 2 goals, he earned caps for the Lithuanian national side at under 21 level, then onto the senior team, where he made his debut at only 19 against Indonesia.

After the Lithuanian`s had a rather successful euro 96 campaign he was spotted by future PSV trainer Bobby Robson, who was set to take over from Dick Advocaat the following season. He made his PSV debut against Michael Mols Ultrecht in 1997 under Advocaat. Played crucial games in the Dutch erdivisie and the Champions league for PSV against Kaiserlautern and Benfica, both home and away tie`s. Winning the Dutch league title also twice in his time.
But after being struck with injury`s, and poor form, Andrius was dropped and lost his place to newer players and the coming and going of a new manager, Eric Gerets. After Making 25 appearances for the Dutch Giants it was time to move on.
Then the move to Dunfermline in the summer of 2000 came along since when he has made over 100 appearances for the Pars scoring two goals, one in the Scottish cup against Celtic. He received a number of Player of the Year awards at the end of season 2000/1 and won the official club player of the year.
His national career is currently on hold, due to a brief bad patch with the national manager, but so far Andrius has earned 33 caps for Lithuania
