Born in Northern Ireland and starting his career at Belfast club Glentoran, Kirk made his pars debut, as a late substitute, in the 2008-09 season opening against Partick Thistle at Firhill. On his first start for the club he scored in the 2-0 win over Peterhead in the Cis cup first round.
Kirk signed for the pars from English club Yeovil Town and had previously played for Northampton Town and Boston. Scotland isn’t uncharted territory for the striker, Kirk made 134 appearances, scoring 32 goals for Hearts. Kirk also has 8 caps for his country, where he made his debut against Hungary in 2000.
