If Dunfermline is anything like Glenrothes, tomorrow’s game may well be under threat. How are things through there?

We’re totally waterlogged in the garden - stone throw away from EEP, so hopefully DAFC have better drainage that we do!

Judging by the weather forecast strong winds could be the main problem tomorrow rather than rain.

Weather report looks like rain is fairly likely right through until tomorrow morning. Strangely there is a weather warning issued for 0800-2200 tomorrow but rain in Dunfermline doesn`t look too bad so the worst must miss us.
I imagine the game will be fine. Selfishly though I wouldn`t mind if it was off! Really want to see if we can keep this run going and I bought the 3 home game ticket but now can`t make it tomorrow!
Edited to say wind looks a problem in the afternoon.

The fans should be prepared for hypothermia in reverse. From 5 degrees C today to 15 tomorrow, there may be a severe shock to the system. So at least we shouldn`t be frozen stiff.

Some amount of rain has fallen in the past 24hrs and will continue to do so into tmrw, hopefully the pitch is holding up well.
However, games were called off back in January for “waterlogged pitches” and there was much less rainfall than this…yet folk laughed at the thoughts of conspiracy theories.

Aye but that was to do with the undersoil heating breaking if it’s on it’s on if it’s off then folk will either just have to go to the pub or take the wife to the bingo

Is the cost so astronomical that we can’t afford pitch covers?
It doesn’t take a weather expert to predict the rain we’ve had this week.

You should offer your services to the Met Office and BBC, both of which are forecasting gusts of 50mph at 3pm.

Today is a good example of when it would be useful for some kind of early statement from the club as to whether the game is any danger or whether an inspection is planned or not, even if a definitive answer cannot be given at this time. Lots of people travelling from distance need to make plans.

It`s a different story at Dundee where they had a pitch inspection at 11 and are having another at 1pm, two hours before the match with Motherwell is due to kick off. The SPFL is threatening to move the match to Airdrie to be played behind closed doors if it doesn`t go ahead today as they need to make sure all fixtures are fulfilled before the `split`. Motherwell aren`t happy with that prospect.

According to the reporter on bbc Scotland. The only reason the game is going ahead is because of the split. He says if it was earlier in the season there’s no way it would be played. No rain forecast but the ref has said if there is more rain it will be off.

I thought the match referee was the only authority to declare a game on/off ?
That would surely require him declaring today’s game on - not the club ?
