The pots still have not been decided in full yet. I think we are guaranteed to be pot 3 but depending on results tonight there could be a change to the pots.
To be decided
Italy - Pot 4 if Croatia beat Armenia or take a point and Wales fail to beat Turkey. Pot 3 if Wales overtake Croatia
Turkey - Pot 2 if they win their group, Pot 3 if they finish behind Croatia
Romania and Switzerland - Group winner goes into Pot 2, whoever finishes second goes into Pot 4

A "group of death" is obligatory, is it not, Stanza? Having said that, Italy have been struggling since they won the last Euros. They might not even get out of the group stages.
But.... they`re often at their most dangerous when they are written off. ๐

As long as Southgate is in charge we could have a chance against England.I had the misfortune of watching them against Malta and North Macedonia-they were mince in both. They had 3 shots on target against Malta and 2 against North Macedonia.

They went into their last match still needing a point to get top seeding and never left anybody out.Quite amusing that Southgate was talking about becoming the number one team in the World right before the North Macedonia draw.

England demolished us at Hampden, albeit the score line didn`t look quite so bad.
They`re also about to go 3rd in the World Rankings, so it is not a massive stretch for Southgate to say that getting to 1st is a target. They were also without their World Class midfielder in the last two games, which were largely meaningless anyway given that they had cruised through the group.
I also don`t think that Scotland took their eye off the ball at the last Euros because of the England game. The Czech game was our first in a major tournament for 23 years, so I think we were pretty focused on that - and a win against Croatia would have seen us qualify. I think it`s fair to say that we just weren`t quite good enough.
If I remember correctly, we were missing Tierney in the Czech game, Gilmour in the last game and had O`Donnell filling in at right back. The squad overall just wasn`t quite strong enough.

Everyone is allowed an opinion but just picking a name and slapping some sarcastic emojis after it is simply trying to goad a response and looking for some fuel for an arguement. Can you elaborate on your opinion and enlighten me to why you think the named player would not cause Scotland any problems at the up and coming Euros if selected to play against them, which of course was the initial debate.
With over 110 premiership goals and countless assists, 20 international goals and on current form it is in my opinion he would be a real problem for Scotlands defence. Now can you let me know your side of the debate where you think that is a laughable suggestion.

I think virtually anyone could score the majority of 2 yard tap-ins he put away for City, a team that creates dozens of chances per game. He`s fast but I`m not sure that, for a "world class" wide player, his final ball is always great. He goes down far too easy when challenged. I just don`t rate him as highly as you. Just my opinion.
In an England team full of great players I`m sure he would cause Scotland problems, but I think they`d do just as well against us without him.

thank you , so your sure he would cause Scotlands defence problems , i donโt rate him that highly compared to others either to be honest but the original statement was that he would cause Scotland problems and not really deserving of sarcastic emojis. Maybe less sarcastic and goading replies would save people getting their backs up at your responses to them, just my opinion

They went into their last match still needing a point to get top seeding and never left anybody out.Quite amusing that Southgate was talking about becoming the number one team in the World right before the North Macedonia draw.
Nope no one left out with the exception of Kane, Europeโs top goalscorer, Bellingham, along with Rashford, Stones Maddison, Sterling etc etc
Kane played in both games,Sterling was left out by choice and Maddison,Stones and Bellingham were injured-they weren`t left out.Rashford has been poor so far this season and was on the bench.

Deary me, Kane was left out of starting 11 and the others mentioned were either injured, dropped to try someone else or not selected for that particular game so they WERE left out due to one thing or another, the whole point of the original post was not to judge England on their last two games as they were not at full strength and will be a different force when the Euros KO

Kane played the full 90 against Malta. My point was that Southgate believed he was picking the strongest available team to him at the time.None of the players you mentioned were left out to try other players with Kane being the exception for less than an hour in the 2nd match.
Sterling is well down Southgate`s pecking order and has been for a while. He isn`t going to start ahead of Saka and hasn`t made the squad for their last 10 games.Did he not go about 30 games without scoring for England?

I am quite sure Southgate thought he was picking his strongest team for that game but my point was quite simply that i wouldnโt judge England on their last two qualifying games as against how they will perform in the tournament proper ๐

Could i maybe try and add that i think when we played england, as much as we had the usual 11 and formation, we did try a different style of play, more focus on build up and quick transtions from defence to midfield rather than are usual quite direct style. Scotland are a different beast these days, no longer are the days i fear losses against your teams like norway, georgia, spains etc, i think with the right attidute we can give any team a game imo

Qualifying from that group would be tremendous. Pump the Spanish again, Austrians are pihs and we have a p*** up with the Italians in prep for the knock out stages.

He missed a couple of games but has been back in the squad for a month now which seems a long time to be eased back.It could be a coincidence but the new manager came in and he hasn`t started since then.
The games come thick and fast down there though so hopefully he gets back in and finds a bit of form.

Relax Ormiston, take it easy. The computer simulation, in the absence of the real draw, gives a possible (computer thinks probable) scenario in the absence of the real thing, which enables the punters to surmise a possible outcome. Which produces a useful (some may say futile) exercise and debating point. Either way not something to get flustered about. Enjoy the debate or ignore, it`s up to each to choose.

All the Pot 2s are beatable.
The big question mark for me is Pot 4. Whichever group draws Italy or, to a lesser extent, Switzerland, will be tough groups.

I see a number of posters agree with your view, wee eck, and while a sanguine outlook is always better than the Private Frazer "We`re doomed" one, it would be folly to think we`ve practically qualified already.
Even Germany, as top seeds, cannot be complacent. There are no pushovers in this group, and I include Scotland. The Swiss are notoriously difficult to beat as they are well organised and are bolstered with talent by players from ethnic minority backgrounds. And didn`t Hungary beat England home and away in the last Nations League group games?
รt Brazil 2014, I suggested that England and Italy might both fail to qualify from a group which also contained Uruguay and Costa Rica. You might need to google that to find out how that prediction fared. ๐ค

The 36 hours free travel is for the host city and its region. Ticket holders can get discounted travel between regions. 29.90 euros return or 39.90 euros for first class. I am not going over for the Germany game . Hopefully I will get tickets for the other two.

managed to get booked up fairly reasonably. In and out for Matchday 1. Costs in munich are ridiculous so looking at basing nearby and travel in first thing and enjoy all day in munich before game. Fly home from Zurich Sat lunchtime. Fly back out Tuesday to Eindhoven and train to Cologne, Match wed then spend couple of days working down to Stuttgart (Avoiding Frankfurt as england play there the following day) for game 3 on the Sunday. Home Monday Morning from Baden Baden and back out if we qualify out the group.

If you are successful in getting tickets for scotlands games or any game on the same day then you cannot apply for SSC tickets. Its a bit of a bummer really. It is in an email from the SSC. I got mine on Nov 29th.

I didn`t apply for the 1st ballot, so no tix so far. I was asking more about having applied in the 2nd ballot, which hasn`t been drawn yet, does that exclude me from trying to get tix on Thursday. Yes, if you get allocated tickets from ballot 2, you cannot get tickets through ssc if games on same day - 1 ticket allowed per match day.
Because the buying period lasts till end of Jan, the ticket will be assigned to you until then as resale period isnt until Spring.

slightly incorrect. You will get SSC tickets but you will not get any games on the same matchday from the Ballot application you have made.
reason its that way around is the SSC sale will happen before the announcement of the 2nd ballot (Runs to Jan i believe)
Ballot application is just that and a place in a ballot where SSC is a confirmed ticket. Being in the ballot will not prevent you buying tickets.

slightly incorrect.
Well spotted PuP, forgot that SSC ballot was this early! ๐

I`d never buy anything from a tout site mate. If I don`t get any tix, more than happy to go to a fan zone. They look fantastic.
Yeah I agree that is my plan as don`t expect to get my hands on tickets. On that site tickets for the Germany opening game are priced at around ยฃ650.

Tartan Army โeliteโ in meltdown on Facebook is quite amusing to watch to be fairโฆit was only going to be expected that the SFA would muck it up, but the sense of entitlement from some is amusing to watch ๐ hopefully its sorted before the 12th though so that some of the loyal 11 pointers get tickets and dont miss out on Uefa ballotโฆ

if the "meltdown" is asking for a supporters association to follow other nations precedence then absolutley. I mean i get its totally fair that someone who has never left glasgow has same entitlement to a ticket as someone who`s travelled around the continent following them.

If there enough tickets for them, why not? ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ

The problem is the SFA are not releasing the tickets in bands of points holders, it will be a mad scramble for the cheapest tickets.
