Tuesday 27 Aug , 2pm at EEP; free admission but bucket collection. Manager says it will be a chance to play new signings and those who haven`t featured much in recent games.

I notice an U18 open training session is planned for Rosyth, does that mean facilities will be suitable to play match there also. Surly a good move playing reserves and U18 games locally.

I would have thought that if this was the case we wouldn`t be playing games at Spartans. I`d assume we would need to pick a home ground and that is it for the season.

c'mon the pars

A centenary club email came out inviting fans to apply watch but it was very clear that there were only 30 places available. Guessing the issue is a lack of parking or toilets. Agree it would be great to play these games there.

Actually there has already been incidents of kids almost getting hit by some cars as there isn`t a great deal of room getting in and out as has always been the case at the Civil Service club
Cars trying to cross into the entrance where another car is trying to get out again is quite a problem and not the safest situation for kids or even adults for that matter........

Will the car park at the back of the NW be open today, or what are the chances of using the lidl car park ?
Coming through with a pal who`s not long through hip surgery, so need to be parking nearby .

Is the 4G pitch at Rosyth being used by the public or is secured of an evening and for Pars use only ?

Just use the pavement to drop them off and then park in Aldi. I donā€™t think theyā€™ll be a big crowd

Nine of the players who finished the game for us came through the academy apparently.

Clay is definitely Championship standard
if the manager is looking for another central midfielder. If he only has enough left in his budget for one more signing I`d prefer a left wing back/ attacking midfielder.

Were a better team when wighton and Chalmers went off, should have had another couple of goals , thought the centre half did well as well as Clay , Coopers fitness didn,t look to great and MOH just ran with the ball until he lost it {nothing changed }

Chalmersā€¦ā€¦no doubt in my mind after watching him in a game against kids that he is defo not the answer in midfield to our first team woes. He was poor and gave the ball away a good few timesā€¦..

He constantly played the ball backwards even against a bunch of kids

I`m old enough to remember when Queens Park reserves were Queens Park Strollers, their 3rd team was the Queens Park Hampden XI and their fourth team was the Queens Park Victoria XI.

Are any of these names still use today (I don`t suppose they run 4 teams any longer), or are they all in the dust of football history?

I agree that we should have won by more ā€“ we spurned a few second half chances.

It looked like a 4-2-3-1 to begin with ā€“ a bit like the first team of late.

Tobi
McLeod, (RB) Fogarty, Young, Hoggan
Trialist, Chalmers
Cooper
MOH. Wighton, Tod (Wighton being a little isolated IMO).

We scored a couple of early goals from corners ā€“ I thought there might have been a little near-post flick for the first one which Tod headed home from about 12 yards ā€“ the second was deeper and Young did well to stoop and head the ball back in where the trialist stuck it home.

The Strollers were quite young so Iā€™m not sure how much of a test they provided. (There is a clear gulf between the u-18s and the reserves and the first team and I still maintain that a revamped Fife Cup presents an opportunity to bridge these).

There were a few changes in the second half as usual ā€“ they used to like to give most of the lads a game and John McLaughlin seems to be continuing that philosophy.

Taylor came on for Wighton at half time Then Fogarty Chalmers and Cooper went off which meant a bit of a reshuffle. McLeod went to CB, Hoggan switched to RB, Proudfoot came on at LB, Tod moved to the middle and Rowe went to the left and Jake replaced Cooper, although I think Jake was more of a deeper lying forward. Snoddy came on in the middle of the park for the trialist as we finished with a very young side ā€“ MOH must have been about 10 years older than his team mates.

We created a number of good chances later on ā€“ a Freddie spin let him link up with Jake but he rather hurried the return from about 8 yards out; Taylor was through but couldnā€™t place his shot under pressure and the keeper saved the rebound on the line from Rowe and then the keeper made another point blank save from Taylor. At least they didnā€™t prove costly.

Fogarty didnā€™t look troubled; neither did Young; the trialist looked good (but may have feet of Clay) ā€“ he looks like an experienced ball-winner with a good engine; Iā€™m sure there are loads of this type in the lower English divisions. Cooper looked a bit off ā€“ but he got booked in the first half for a trip and that reduced his competitiveness.

It was the first time Iā€™d see Proudfoot but he fitted in well; Snoddy too looks to have progressed. McLeod and Hoggan showed their versatility ā€“ I hope that wonā€™t become a handicap, being Jacks of all trades, master of none as it were. Tobi (is it not Oluyawemi, rather than the way itā€™s last spelt on COWS?) didnā€™t have a lot to do, but he can hit a long ball. If route 1 is needed, he can shell it ā€“ there was one clearance in the first half that went straight down the other end but Wighton couldnā€™t get it on target from the angle. MOH was frustrating ā€“ one good run along the byline which Wighton couldnā€™t convert, but otherwise his main contribution seemed to be to run as fast as he can before losing his balance and the ball which was disappointing.
