Noticed on Facebook that David has walked out of his position in the club shop? Can anyone confirm? If so it’s ridiculous for the amount he has done.

It`s a sad day that a 80year old who has gave 20+ years unpaid to the club has felt the need to leave/been asked to leave. Not the first good person within the club who has felt the need to either.

He could have happily retired.

Irrespective of what has or hasn`t happened and off the back of the NW guys withdrawing their efforts, it just seems like another example of the club going backwards.
These people are the lifeblood of the club.
It feels as though we have gone back a few steps, and these are really big shoes to fill.
We can all look forward to a board statement 😉

A very sad day for the club whatever the reason, he was an absolute asset to the club and I`m sure I would not be alone in saying it was a pleasure to visit the club shop and chat and shake hands with David.
If he has been driven out that is a complete disgrace, but I`m sure David is too much of an absolute gentleman and Pars man to disclose if he has been driven out.
I would expect a testament from David Cook thanking him for his years of devoted service and a suitable memento from the club.

Ah but Mr Cook is put in a corner whatever he/the club comes out with saying thanks to David. Its obvious something has happened but Cook/the club will just come out thanking him for his services etc and cover up anything that happened.
Look at how much David put into the club in hrs working and helping…Again something is not right with the set up and I hope the hierarchy within DAFC are proud of themselves…our club is turning into a joke now…

Essentially the above, also with reference to a potential boycott of the shop that he doesn’t want as he believes at certain times of the year it’s the clubs only source of income.
“What happened is between me and the club”
Being the Pars man that he is he also shows great respect for everyone that used the shop, but his final thoughts were “new owners are lining up to take over the club let’s get behind them”.

Whatever has happened between him and the club is clearly private, as the man himself has stated already. The bad part of this is that a volunteer for 20 years has left his position due to irreconcilable differences.
No idea why people on here want to use this as a point scoring mission about who was right and wrong about the club/board etc, its just a ridiculous state to get into when one of the involved parties has already said its not for the public domain.

It`s a genuine question. I`ve not seen a thing on Facebook so I`m unaware of what the comments are. I`m not suggesting he`s given up for no reason but, given he`s been doing it 20 years, perhaps he`s just had enough? However, it sounds like comments have been made to suggest something bad has happened, which is why I`m asking what`s happened! No malice intended whatsoever.
