No width in that team but if your wingers are not contributing anything you might as well not have them in the team.

Not sure where he’s playing McCann and guessing cooper and Todd will have to put a shift in to support Kane.

"I`m guessing 4-2-3-1 with McCann playing off the left and Cooper off the right, but can see Cooper and Todd being quite fluid and switching about. Their centre halves aren`t great so if we can get a press on and make them think then there might be some joy to be had.

5 mins to kick off and the away end is pretty full, apart from the top 2 corners. Take away SNW, the NS looks pretty sparse and the Norrie looks pretty decent. Main Stand looks pretty full.

This is garbage. No intensity to the play, no quality to the passing, Morrison getting all sorts of joy down their right, back four looks slow and all.over the place.

And there it is. Garbage. What kind of defending was that? Bene is done at this level.

A bit lucky to be back in the game, but we`ll take a penalty. Falkirk move the ball better and are finding space. We need to be a bit sharper with our passing and more direct up front.

Falkirk look sharper and quicker on the ball than us. We are only level for bow because of an error from Nesbitt.

Soft but a pen, right foot taken out, but should have been a retake.

Watching on the tele. We look very weak. Slow to balls and half hearted challenges. Passing is terrible and we lack any idea after the half way line. The penalty was soft. Have to be honest but so far we are miles away from Falkirk at the moment. If we are going to improve we need to get quicker and more decisive. The right side is not the way to go and Todd is hopeless in that position. We are playing with ten men.

We’re okay at the back but Todd, otoo and cooper are way off the pace, otoo wearing his lead boots and cooper a boy playing with men here. We generally look half fit compared to them and are no where near sharp enough.

Kane intelligent in getting us back in it. McCann as usual a headless chicken and not winning anything.

The new man needs a few in the door come Jan, if this is our best team you’re worried as I don’t think they are underperforming, they just don’t have what it takes.

Falkirk have had a poor game and given the ball away loads, long may it continue.

Falkirk are by far more purposeful going forward and finding space. We are second to most balls and once we have it we seem to be lacking a bit in ideas. Lucky to go in at half time on equal terms. We will need to be better second half.

Players 2nd to every ball. No fight whatsoever.

McPake was phoning it in all season, that`s reflected in the attitude, that`s not going to change overnight, for me they`re trying, levels aren`t going to skyrocket up at this stage.

What does this “phoning it in” mean? Genuine question Dandy.

His heart wasn`t in it, there were clearly problems this season in nearly every aspect of our club, all of it lacklustre.
Whether or not McPake was let down will always be up for debate but all season, same performances, same tired platitudes, going through the motions.
I`m sure he was a nice man etc etc but it is what it is.

I don`t wanna go down like disco.

Surprised at some of the comments on here that half. Yes, we’ve not been great but there’s been a clear improvement in our intensity and we’ve looked better than the last few weeks under McPake.

We still give the ball away far too easily and, as has been said, the midfield is missing, Todd, Cooper & McCann have been passengers but if they can come into the game we have a chance.

Falkirk are good, they have a style of play that I like, but they’ve created nothing but Morrison’s chance. More of the same please 😂

I think he just needs to commit to his run a bit sooner and anticipate. He will go in the wrong direction some of the time but others he won`t. His pace is deceptive so if he gets that half a yard on the defender he should be able to hang on to it.

McCain has looked his normal self tonight, lots of running about but that’s all. If that’s enough to get a game for us we should go down to pitreavie running track to find our new players.

A pars team with the likes of cooper in it and McCann is always going to struggle at this level. They just are not championship players, I actually don’t think Todd is a Championship level midfielder either and otoo looks like a donkey just now (hope any scouts are not watching!)

Then I look at the bench for any quality to bring on for these guys and I think geez mcpake really screwed up on the recruitment, such a poor squad.

Credit to Falkirk for the quick free kick. Caught us out. Ball not in the correct position and perhaps marginally offside, but it’s done now.

Need to change it now. Todd looks like he is running on treacle. His energy was a big part of his effectiveness, but that’s long gone.
Cooper hasn’t been in it, neither has McCann.

If we can get all our players playing to their ability we can match anyone .

our midfield needs to improve ,Nisbit ,Tate and Morrison were running the game ,but not taking away the great fighting effort tonight ,well done the pars

You have to take the point, but we are a long way off Falkirk in terms of movement going forward and passing. We got a result on the back foot, so in terms of commitment, you can`t fault it.

The Falkirk like to play a close game over 1 side of the pitch which draws the team in then quickly play the ball over to attack…..

Dug in well for that point and great full for that but we are so far behind them as a team.

We are carrying too many players who are not up to this level. Arguably none of our players would get into that Falkirk team.

We scored in the 92nd min so the added time had nothing to do with the goal 😂

Tremendous fighting spirit tonight to come back 3 times, it did look as if Falkirk were the fitter team but with a better final pass we might have snatched a win. Does look as though our keeper has lost a bit of confidence, maybe if he had stayed on his line at the 3rd goal he may have stopped it. But we`ll done pars would have taken a draw if I was offered it before kick off. That was some clearance from Hamilton by the way , saved a certain goal, whatever you may think of him as a player he always puts himself on the line for the pars.

The first penalty worked wonders, I feared Falkirk were going to dominate if we didn’t get an equaliser before the half wore on.

Some strange decisions from the referee at times - like allowing play to continue when our free kick was illegally blocked to their advantage.

Can’t see Falkirk keeping Nisbet too much longer - he could perform at a higher level.

Benedictus was outstanding.

At least 4 of those were probably added for the pyro and the pitch invasion. Get it up them. And the goal was at 90+2 anyway.

Great stuff, we rode it a bit, but for the first time in ages we put loads of pressure on another team, plenty other chances too, which is unusual.

We were more direct for a change.

Still a long way to go, this team showed character alright, but clearly we are not well drilled, the new manager will need to put more shape in, and defend set pieces etc.

For sure the players will respond, because that`s what they want from a coach.

A big well done, that`s a tough game.

Funny game football as I have a different perspective to the above.

Falkirk will be really frustrated tonight at throwing away two points as they deserved to win that.

From our perspective it was good to see some fight and spirit but we were lacking in quality pretty much all over the pitch, we definitely need a rebuild.

We had little to no attacking threat up the field, when we got the ball in midfield hardly any options to play forward. Always flat footed and second to most balls.

First goal for Falkirk, need to see it again but thought Fogarty was at fault, he just stood there, way too slow to react.

Second goal for them need to see again as well, just switched off to the quick free kick, could argue positioning of the ball and possibly offside but you need to be switched on, no point complaining to the ref, just get on with it.

Our first goal, it looked soft to me in person but watching it back at HT on iPlayer there was a clear knock and the second I’m certain was handball and both well taken penalties. Can argue Kanes should’ve been retaken but pretty confident he would’ve put it away.

It’s a good point in the end given the circumstances but with Hamilton having two games in hand, next fixture being Airdrie at home, think there is likely to be a bigger gap shortly.

Sooner we get the new gaffer in the better.

Hard fought point and great character to get back three times, but we were miles off it both technically and in terms of fitness. Only so long you`ll get away with that and perhaps tonight with the managerial change, the crowd, lights, cameras etc it was a perfect storm but play like that and we`ll continue to struggle. Fair play to the subs who changed things even though I was surprised Kane was withdrawn. Don`t think Mebude actually did well when he came on but his energy and unpredictability gave them something else to think about. Also a shout out to Hamilton who was decent in a game he can sometimes lose the plot in. Tremendous defending at that free kick, I thought it was in all the way.

Up until the first penalty we were abysmal but we then showed some spirit that’s been lacking in many a week.
No way we deserved to win the match but a draw was definitely fair in the end.
We rattled them and have to be honest thought at 2-3 it was done and dusted but Bene did what big Norrie used to do and come up with a late goal.
Fantastic game all round.

Just back from the game and I’m delighted with what I saw tonight, yes there is room for improvement and yes our midfield was seriously lacking, but we showed heart and desire and we actually nullified the league leaders to very very little.

Poor defending and quick thinking saw them score, then a poor Goalkeeping error for their 3rd, but switching off aside, they didn’t create anything and I think the team need to take huge credit from that.

I’m starting to have huge doubts about Tobi, we’re starting to see error after error and his kicking not hitting the target all too often. Maybe he’s not the Goalkeeper we initially thought he was. I hope he can prove to be, but another individual error on his part, could have cost us.

We huffed and puffed, and from where I was, both penalties given were the right decision and Bene’s header was the icing on the cake.

Delighted with the point and hopefully that’s the foundation we build on.

Well done Pars

Thought it was a good battling point and would`ve taken it before the match.

For me, I think we don`t look fit. Thought we looked really leggy, just off it in terms of our press and just general energy levels. Falkirk looked a lot sharper overall.

Behind 3 times though and fighting back is a real positive!

The goals we lost were poor if you look at each of them in isolation, but I think you have to take into account what was going on at the time. At all 3 of those points in the game, we were struggling to get into it and they were getting into good areas and right on top of us. It was relentless and, even thoguh they didn`t have great chances aside form the goals, we were constantly being forced to defend. In that situation, you often break eventually and I think that was what happened there.

Falkirk are obviously a better side than us just now, but I thought we did well to stay in the game when we were struggling a bit. And that includes the first half hour when we weren`t in the game at all. I was hoping that after getting through that and 1-1 at half-time they might have to ease off a bit, but I`ll give Falkirk credit for being fit enough to lift it again in the second half.

The one thing I was really hoping was that we wouldn`t lose to a late goal. A routine narrow loss and just not being good enough I think we could have shrugged off but losing to a late winner would have felt really bad. So it`s great that after it looked like we`d done that, we scored a later goal ourselves to get a point. Haven`t had a proper `jump about radge` moment for a while so it was nice to remember that football does sometimes give moments of positive emotional release.

Obviously we need to win some games soon, but it`s a start and something for the new manager to get going with. Well done to them all for getting a good point from a tough game.

And some comment on stuff off the park tonight.

We`ve had more than our share of wee fannies chucking stuff on the park, but the amount of stuff chucked towards our keeper from the away end in the second half tonight was absolutely disgraceful. Pretty much all of it from the same section to one side of the goal. Police standing at the corner flag betwen away end and main stand, more of them in front of the NW corner but apparently no thought to go near the area that had caused most of the problems all night.

It`s not on when our fans do it and it`s not on when opposing fans do it either. Especially when it happens as often as that.

Honestly we couldn’t have asked for much more.

We weren’t playing with any confidence or any fight last week. Tonight we looked like we had a very simple game plan, we didn’t try and be tactical. We stayed narrow and fought hard 🤷🏻‍♂️ in fairness to John McLaughlin I think he done the right thing. We weren’t playing with any plan under McPake so he was never going to have the time to implement anything other than, keep it tight and fight for the second ball. I think he got his team selection right and his subs were good.

Simple game plan. Lots of fight and determination from the players. Definitely not the world’s best football to watch but a well deserved point against the team top of the league. I’ll take it

Watched on TV which can give a different perspective and feeling. I would have loved to have been there. Our keeper got caught up in (probably) the biggest game he has played in. Learning curve for him. Bene wasn’t marshalling his defence as well as he has. Fogarty could be a big player in a better league ( you work with what you’ve got). Some of our play in a diamond ( some) was better than previous formations. M’bude will ( hopefully ) be a wonderful player … his skills are sublime. Cooper isn’t at this level. Kane is a forward playing midfielder and not a striker. With Bene, Hamilton and McCann we can build a team around them. Ngwenya will sell for money. Comrie is a good servant who won’t. Otoo if he doesn’t leave soon will go down the leagues and yet with great coaching might go up. KRH if we get a manager who believes in him might be pretty decent.

Well then ,would have taken the draw before kick off but thought we were pretty lucky. We were outplayed for 75% of the match and had no control of the centre midfield area at any time. , we lacked width most of the time and Otto , dear oh dear that was hid worst performance I have ever seen , not helped atall by Cooper or Todd. Midfield needs s complete re-set.

Had to record the game and watch it nearly three hours behind.

Not by any means a perfect display, loads to work on and had a couple of lucky moment....but the spirit and the energy were there. Even without Bene`s late equaliser, I`d have been ok with that - but when it went in, well, fitba can lift you out the seat.....

There`s loads more we`d all like to see but seeing the team giving it a right go, not lying down, working for it, showing heart and fight....that was great to see

I genuinely haven`t celebrated that much at a goal. Just home(via a few public houses). It`s a reminder of the rivalry. They really are a shitfest of a club. Set the tone with the chants at the clap for Alex Edwards. I knew they wouldn`t win today. Even more so after that. So chuffed for Bene.

Not really sure where to start with that. Ngwenya will sell for cash but Otoo will go down the leagues? Granted not Otoos greatest game last night, looked a bit clumsy but he’s a far superior player to Ngwenya. Chris Kane is not a midfielder, he’s an out and out striker whose biggest asset is holding the ball up, he’s not really creative by any means.

Falkirk the better side and for a moment in the first half I thought they were going to steamroller the Pars. But great grit & graft earned the Pars a valuable point.

When McCann cut back to KRH, for a brief moment, I was expecting to see a Kane rocket into the top corner. I need to cut back on the cool aid...

Kane clearly wasn`t fit but he put in one heck of a shift for the time he was on, winning fouls and getting the team up the park. Bit of a mention for Lewis McCann last night, basically had to chase lost causes for most of the night due to our lack of creativity but never stopped running.

On Otoo, he was playing on the left side of the diamond and looked uncomfortable there, but he was also helping out Ngwenya against Morrison which looked like his main role.

I`m not sure how you can read anything from that one way or the other longer term, these players are 2nd bottom (that gap could also open up given the games in hand).

What you can say is we haven`t seen resilience like that from this group of players for some time, going behind 3 times and managing to come back every time is commendable, under McPake that game would`ve been over at 1-0.

We could replay that game 20 times and would not score 3 goals again. We were not great but we worked hard and got the breaks. Let’s face it, falkirk had a bit of an off day with some individual errors but still miles ahead of us. Point a great result.

Next manager has some task on his hands to turn around some of these players and get them back into form, otoo in particular had dropped off completely, Todd looks out of his depth in the middle of the park at this level and cooper putting to bed any chat that he should be anywhere near a starting line up.

Our defence is pretty solid so it’s a good basis though, the keeper appears to be the latest player whose form has gone and is making mistakes.

Absolute priority has to be getting a midfielder in. We have an abundance of them in the squad but not one single one of them looks effective.

Again you feel Kane needs to play for us to have a chance, always in the right position and puts pressure on and likely to take chances. Would score a lot more with a decent partner up there.

Didn`t look offside from the replay, bigger issue was being allowed to take a quick free kick outside the box well away from the spot of the foul. Hamilton should`ve blocked it off mind you

I have it on good authority that McPake expected the bullet a few games in, in my opinion he never turned up this season, yes he was hamstrung by the owners but it got right up my beak, we`ve never been ready for this season, the whole thong from top to bottom has been a half hearted shambles.

No requirement for the referee to whistle where it disadvantages the offended team who choose to take the free kick quickly.

As long as all the other standard rules for a legal free kick are observed.

Same here. After our first Falkirk really went off the boil and looked desperate for half-time. They created less openings than us, in fact the stand out difference for the Pars was after our 3rd we went looking for the winner, not the usual blocking crapping our pants hoping not to concede.

Considering we normally fold up like an accordian after losing a goal that was a great fightback and result.

Alarming we are so poor at setpieces especially given the pedigree of JM and DM as centre backs in their playing days but obviously not on them last night.

Still, regardless of the rivalry it`s a point against the best team in the league and a brilliant fightback.

I thought they went out to win the game early doors given our reputation with not coming back once the opposition scored. What sealed it for me was their three substitutions, 60 minutes in, where those who went off were clearly running out of steam. The players who came on were ineffective. At that point, I thought we had an opportunity in the game. Hats off to Bene for his goal as we never looked like scoring from open play.

Personally, I thought Falkirk were the better side. We were second to most balls. Even our own throw ins were being picked up by the Falkirk players. From where I was sitting, I couldn`t get a clear view of the penalties, but unless you pressure teams, those decisions won`t come your way

Delighted with the point but there were a few wee things that annoyed me about last night.

We`re not street wise. We stand back and allow throws, free kicks etc to be taken quickly. Even the ball boys were helping Falkirk restart play quickly. The exact opposite from at Starks Park a few weeks ago when their ball boys slowed down when it was our throws etc. Their players blocked everything from being taken, even the keeper from kicking from hand. All small things but that`s what winners do. They do all the nasty stuff well.

Far too nice as a club.

A draw was a bit fortunate, Falkirk had most of the play and moved the ball around better. With their wide forwards hugging the touchline and the fullback pushing forward, it meant they were out numbering us to good effect when they switched the play. Our narrow formation worked to some extent, but none of Todd, Otoo or Cooper had much effect on the game. We might have been better as Raymie suggested pushing McCann and Cooper up on their full backs to stop this.

That said, although are attacks were more infrequent, their were more dangerous than normal and at least quite direct. I thought both Kane and McCann did well with what little service they got. Centre backs did well and so did Ngwenya who I`ve been critical of previously. We definitely need more from the midfield though, Hamilton is fine at breaking up the play but very limited on the ball, but at least he was actively involved.

In the end with the effort and the spirit, a point was about right. Hopefully coming back 3 times will boost confidence and with some new voices and tactical ideas we can string some points together.

There was a lot more determination and hard work last night which is promising but we were poor with the goals we conceded and need to be far more decisive up front. Yet again, we were poor creating chances from open play. The penalties were well taken and Benes header was fantastic. I would never have imagined us coming from a goal down three times with McPake in charge.

For me Bene, Ngenwya and Hamilton were our best players last night. Tobi needs to do better for the third and the defence fell asleep for the first. The second should never have counted. I think last night showed why Cooper is more of an impact player than a starter. I would rather see Todd in that position, as he looked lost playing right midfield.

I thought Falkirk were there for the taking last night and if we were a bit more organised we would have beaten them comfortably. With how well they’re doing, the players should take this as a positive and hopefully gain confidence for next week. We need to start getting three points fast and we need to make sure we recruit well in January and bring the right manager in. Hopefully the new investor has a say as our board’s decision making gives me the fear on who the new manager could be!

I have always thought in Mcpakes tenure that we don,t look as fit as other teams in our league , most of the time last night we looked slow and ponderous, yes we battled hard and got our reward , but most of the time Falkirk were faster , slicker and moved the ball about quicker , hopefully under new management our fitness level will improve

It`s funny what folk see and others don`t. I thought Falkirk were guff last night and they were on the ropes most of the second half.

I agree I thought the Pars showed real determination last night especially in the 2nd half. That said Falkirk played with more cohesion when they had the ball and overall looked like a team that are well coached. I don’t necessarily believe they have better players than the Pars but they do have more of an Identity in their style of play.

Thought we were much better than a lot of folks on this thread are suggesting. Was at the game and watching it back on tv just now has reinforced that. Pundits and commentary team also gave us much more credit.

Michael Stewart said it was the most disjointed he`s seen Falkirk. I think this was largely down to our performance.

We definitely lacked quality and composure in the final third, but we were playing the team clear at the top of the league!

On the quick free kick, thought it was dodgy at the time, but on TV it looked like it was maybe only a foot from the contact. The player on the ground made it look worse.

Apparently Dundee have recalled Graham from Falkirk today so that will weaken them a bit.

Why does Benedictus not go up for every corner? He is one of our biggest threats in the air and only went up once for a corner on Friday, and also in other matches. For a team that finds it hard to score goals, we should be using the best weapons at our disposal.

I think it’s game management by him.

He said post match he has a cracked rib from the Raith game which is possibly why he didn`t want to risk going up for a corner and injuring himself until it was desperate at the end.
