After a shaky first 5 minutes where Queens Park put some cracking balls in from wide, it`s been pretty much all one way traffic in our favour. Need to be taking some of these chances though. Otoo, Kane and McCann have all had chances they`d have been looking to do better with although Kane at least came close by hitting the woodwork.
Referee had been appalling as usual. Didn`t book a QP player for a jersey pull on Fogarty that "stopped a promising attack" as the IFAB laws say and they`ve been given a few soft free kicks including one just there where I thought they`d scored from.
Despite the big pitch and the wing backs, we have no width and Hane is having to do the work or two or three players. With results going against us we really need to win here.

That Hamilton result was a big shock and really is terrible for us. I think it`ll still go the last game of the season and it would be a statistical anomaly for Partick to lose 2 games in a row to teams struggling at the bottom, so I can`t see us getting back to back wins.

Fantastic result and we actually produced when it mattered for a change!
Kane to stay in bed until 3pm next sat, he’s the difference between us being a league 1 team to a lower championship outfit.
Win next week and it might just about be enough given queens run in, never that simple though.

If we can get 3 points against Partick then we are in a good position as Hamilton play QP. So we could go 7th, or stay 8th and be 4 points ahead of QP, with 2 to play if we win.

We`ve probably got the easiest final three games of the bottom four teams. It`s now in our hands and we`ve got Airdrie at home.
I`m not relaxing, but I`m a bit more confident.
Obviously, QP weren`t great, but there was so much more determination in that performance than anything under McPake or Tidser. The goal today was all about desire on the part of multiple players in the move. That goal simply wouldn`t have been possible under the other two managers.
Finally, Wanyama actually looked good when he came on. He`s not fully fit, but he had a couple of great touches. He might have more than a bit part in the rest of the season.

Gee, I always thought that a striker was
supposed to score goals. Now Kane is a striker
he scores almost everytime he plays. McCann
has played almost every game and he`s scored
one goal. He`s a league one player at best.

At the other end of the table, Livi beating Morton could be a good result for us. Livi play again on Friday before Falkirk next do. That means by next Saturday Falkirk could kick off their game against Raith with Livi only three points behind them. Raith need points to get into the top six too.
It would be great for us to be safe before the final game, but if that doesn`t happen, then some combination of results that sees most teams having something to play for in the final match would be good for us.

Not c composed performance from the whole team today, we have been well drilled , something we`ve been needing, we dominated the game.
Been so used to watching Hamilton results, but now I think it`s Q Park we want to lose all games!
2 wins out of 3 , the players deserve some credit here.

Just in from the game. Delighted tonight, deserved that today by far the better team. We all know in front of goals is our problem but I’m just thankful we got the 1. Never looked overly troubled but as long as it just one there’s a chance.

That wasn`t pretty on the eye but got the job done.
Can see why QP ship so many goals. They were the poorest team i`ve seen us play this season - doesn`t say a lot for us mind you and the big #15 at centre back looked like a junior player today so if we couldn`t score there we`d be as well giving up.
Clay has been like a new signing coming in. One wee blip just on halftime but besides that hardly put a foot wrong. Breaks up play nicely, always shows for the ball, rarely wastes it and keeps it simple.
Sideshow Bob cruised it again, Rudden was their only threat and even at that he hardly gave him a kick.
Two poor teams low on confidence but win is all that matters.

So you all seem to think that McCann is a proper striker.
He he was he would be scoring on a regular basis.
If he did set up the chance for Kane to score
today then why not play him in midfield. Please I more

That goal celebration amongst the fans today felt massive, a mixture of relief and excitement.
I’ll give Yeboah his dues today, he came in at right time and done a lot of running. Also won a couple of good tackles which were given as free kicks against him.
Wasn’t the prettiest win but I really couldn’t care tonight.
Don’t say this very often but let’s enjoy our night Pars fans.
My mates a Raith fan and he says he doesn’t know how they how they never won, absolutely dominated Airdrie second half but just couldn’t score.

McCann, Todd, Kane and Mullen stick outs today.
Defence coped well with anything they tried and speed of McCann out wide created a few chances as did the guile of Todd.
I`ll take anything positive just now and that was positive but it seems some fans aren`t pleased that we are clawing our way out of trouble. Strange!

Jock Par36, you obviously weren`t even at the game or you would have known McCann `assisted` the goal but you feel the need to come on here and tell us he`s not a striker. Why? Do you get a kick from making random criticisms of Pars` players?
We are where we are and these players are the only ones who can get us out of this mess. We should be supporting them all regardless of how we feel about them individually.

There`s no doubt that some parts of McCann`s game leaves quite a lot to be desired, particularly his ball control. But he was certainly worth his salt today. At his best he can be a handful for defenders, and when he gets into the action, he is a good target man. He gets his head to balls that others don`t. He is better when Kane plays because Kane has the know how to get to his cross balls. Today, McCann was productive and worth his place.

It`s a big win, though I guess any win at this point of the season is.
We really had to win that because they were utterly dire - if we`d only got a point from it after them showing absolutely nothing and everyone else taking a load of goals off them recently, it would be pretty worrying. That in itself adds some pressure so it`s great that we got through it and got the win we deserved.
I`m not quite sure I`m up to watching 3 further games (and maybe more) of intense relegation nerves. When you`re not in top form away from football, I find that watching that sort of game is very demanding emotionally. I`d planned to just watch it quietly on my own but, of course, that goes out when it`s tense in the second half and moreso when we get a lead to hold on to. We weren`t under any heavy pressure late in the game as they kept making mistakes but there were still a couple of nervy moments.
I don`t think the refs have been too bad this season in the main, but in the last few games I`ve not been too impressed. Quite honestly, that guy today was an utter clown. He ignored the most obvious booking you could ever see in the first half for the wee tug back to stop an attack then another not long after. Also had no objection to them slowing it down when it was 0-0 but then went utterly mad when we did similar after scoring. He just didn`t seem to understand it - I think it was the free kick for the wee tug back that was intended to stop the attack and slow it down - he then spent 20 seconds talking to the player to slow it down even more. Today wasn`t one where there were big decisions that went against us, but what seemed like a long series of small things.
Wee mention for Yeboah today. He`s had many games when he`s looked hopeless but today he really contributed to the team when he came on. Helped us get up the park and used his body a bit better.

Yeboah has not impressed me to date, but like Socks I also thought he did really well when he came on today. Wanyama is clearly not the fastest but he demonstrated how strong and skilled he was and did well in his short cameo appearance. His ability to hold off at least two of their defenders when shielding the ball at the corner flag near the end reminded me of I think it was Nat Wedderburn holding off ( three?) Dumbarton defenders a few years back. Great result for us today against a poor team who have a difficult run in. Chilokoa-Mullen again was great. Matty Todd in these last games has also done well. Clay was also very good today. 1-0 probably flattered QP. Once again I thought the referee was terrible. He kept allowing them to disrupt and slow down our play with continual pushes in the back and other fouls. He could have dished out a few more yellow cards. In rugby and hockey after persistent fouling the ref will get the captains to speak to their players and let them know next one’s a card. Well done Pars. Still lots to do, but today’s result was a huge step towards survival, although would have been even nicer if we could have got another couple of goals to increase the GD difference. Also nice for the players to play on a large decent surface today compared to the last three matches.

We are staying up, the players are fighting, winning battles and yesterday’s must win game was actually on this time.
1-0 seems a close game but we dominated that game yesterday, I can’t remember Tobi making a save or Queens having any clear opportunities.
Kane hit post, Keeper pulled off a great save from Hammy onto the post, Otoo had a couple chances he shouldn’t done better with. 2/3 nil would of been a more accurate reflection on the game but at this stage I don’t really care as long as we’re picking up the points I’ll take it.

That win was monumental for us. For the players to secure the win demonstrates their physical and mental capability to perform effectively in critical matches, particularly following the significant setback against Hamilton. My view on this is like a cup run; yesterday`s match represented the quarter-finals, the game against Partick serves as the semi-finals, and the final is set against Airdrie. If we can get six points, we will be assured safety without the need for a playoff. Beyond that, accruing four points should suffice for our survival.

Glad to get the win, but I was hoping that we would have scored early and been in easy street against a team whose form is appalling, but we seem to have lost that particular road-map.
One thing about Hampden is the ease of parking, which is good (although it does reduce the enforced step count). The other is the unfeasibly expensive catering – I tried a kebab pie for the first (and possibly last) time ever. It tasted like a pie with a doner kebab inside, so I guess it did exactly what it said on the tin.
An encouraging line-up with Kane in the starting eleven. The now usual 3-5-2. We dominated the game without being particularly threatening, but there were maybe a couple more occasions than normal when you were hoping to see the net bulge. Plus one at the wrong end from a free-kick, I think. Dead ball delivery was better, but beating the first man doesn’t necessarily equate with creating a chance – lobbing one in surely gives the defenders an immediate advantage? Perhaps it’s about the second ball. One contributory factor to our lack of goals is our central defenders aren’t chipping any with many – you might have hoped for a handful from the likes of JCM or Fogarty.
The goal wasn’t particularly good. just the sort of run-of-the-mill type that we have been lacking. A touch of class with the Spoony chop in his own penalty area, good battling by Clay and a decent ball into the danger area from McCann prompting an error. I noticed Kane acknowledged McCann’s contribution, Spoony Clay’s.
The substitutions made a difference – not a huge amount ,but enough. Otoo replacing Raymond who again looked better going forward ,but had been booked, allowing Spoony to do his thing. Yeboah looked like he belonged more – I think it’s different when you aren’t chasing the game. He could use his pace to keep the Spiders honest and give an out ball. Wanyama showed one glimpse of his ability when he ghosted past two defenders ,then headed for the corner flag to let players bounce off him as he ran down the clock. Hammy is also good in those put your body on the line situations and was unlucky not to score.
Improvement hasn’t been dramatic, but incremental. I think the players are getting used to their fourth manager and his back to basics philosophy. We’re beginning to run out of games and there may yet be more twists and turns than a twisty-turny thing, but I’m feeling a little more optimistic. Time for the experienced players to step up and show their worth.
