A new partnership with Thomas Franks to further enhance hospitality and our fan experience.

Dunfermline Athletic is proud to announce an exciting new strategic partnership with leading hospitality specialists Thomas Franks.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the club’s ambition to transform the matchday experience for supporters, guests, and the wider community. Working closely with the experienced team at Thomas Franks, the club will deliver enhanced hospitality offerings across the Purvis Suite, matchday lounges, and kiosks at KDM Group East End Park.

Beyond matchdays, this partnership will see the launch of a comprehensive non-matchday events offering, including weddings, conferences, parties, and large-scale community events. A newly designed events calendar and bespoke hospitality brochures will be released in due course, showcasing the full range of premium options available at the stadium as we look forward to the 2025/26 Season.

Speaking about the collaboration, Glen Banks, Director of Thomas Franks Sports & Leisure, shared his enthusiasm:

“We are thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with Dunfermline Athletic FC. Our shared commitment to quality and fresh, locally sourced ingredients will undoubtedly result in an enhanced experience for match day fans, conference guests, and eventgoers alike.

These are exciting times at Dunfermline Athletic, and we are proud to be a partner of the club as part of this next chapter. With strong leadership in John Fleming and the Thomas Franks Scotland team, we’re confident in delivering something truly special.”

This partnership reflects the club’s continuing commitment off the field to deliver high-quality experiences, creating new opportunities for fans, businesses, and the local community to engage with the club and its facilities on match and non-match days.

More details, including hospitality, event brochures, and a full event schedule, will be released shortly.

Not sure if this has been done, but would have been a good idea to poll the fans to see what they would like? From there, they could perhaps address the top ten wishes ?

They did send an email to everyone at end of season for thoughts on different things. Not quite a poll but they were looking for feedback.

I read it differently and was more about the hospitality packages we offer rather than our actual in stadium catering which is covered by Stephen’s.

I’m hoping I’m wrong though.

As others have said, I don’t think so, it reads like it’s just the hospitality areas. That said, I’m sure most of us are fans of Stephen’s in general, but they really need to up their game inside the stadium. The difference in quality between EEP and their local shops is night and day.

*Their cakes and rolls are good, but meat products are substandard to certain other bakers.

If Kelty Hearts can offer up a decent meaty product, we have no excuse not to ditch Stephens when their contract expires.

The press release definitely says they are delivering enhanced hospitality in the kiosks and kiosks is the name that has always been used for the Stephen’s outlets.

On another note. With all this reorganisation I hope Margaret still has a role. She has been a loyal club servant for a long time.

They sort catering for a few of the private schools. They`re based down by Oxford so I hope it`s a case they source local suppliers rather than sending the stuff up.

It`s been said for years that Stephens meat products have gone massively downhill. One of the worst locally now so I won`t shed many tears if they`re away.

I hope we see options for all budgets and some variation too. Cold pies and sausage rolls next to some empire biscuits isn`t a great way of selling coming to the football. I know my kids would be more likely to attend if there were burgers and hotdogs. Yes, very American...

These two job adverts in Athletico`s post suggest they are going to have two members of staff present at EEP all week do they not? It looks like they`re aiming to market it as a permanent conference/hospitality/catering venue, not just on match days.

so looks like the kiosks also so hopefully improved offerings for all fans.

It`s a pity Stephens fare is so poor now, a local company and was an excellent link up at the time, but Stephens have no one to blame but themselves if they have lost the contract or maybe if they are in on the partnership they will have to offer better quality fare and including stovies, soup etc

I did fill in the end of season questionnaire and asked for improved catering, glad to see the club are listening to the fans.

as mentioned above would be good to look at innovative ways to change the matchday experiences.

Aye look to have been pushing things as a test events. £35 for match entry and 5 pints doesnt seem a bad deal

Ayr United FC can confirm alcohol will be on sale at our two upcoming home Premier Sports Cup matches after the club was granted alcohol licences by South Ayrshire Council. These

The ticket price of £35 will give admission to a maximum of 66 supporters (minimum age 18) per match to enter the stadium through turnstile 13 and includes up to 4 pints of Moretti per person pre-match and a further pint during the half-time interval. Moretti is the only alcoholic drink provided during the test events, with soft drink alternatives available. This ticket prices also includes the match ticket.

Alcohol will be available in the accessible area of the Main Stand to home supporters only. Serving times are:

Saturday 19th July - Ayr United v Arbroath (bar open 12.30pm to 2.30pm and then re-opens at half-time interval).

Tuesday 22nd July - Ayr United v Forfar (bar open 5.15pm to 7.15pm and then re-opens at half-time interval).

The area chosen for the test events is within the current disability section. Supporters who occupy this area are also invited to purchase tickets for the pilot project, but are also able to use the current area to view the match as normal and will continue to enter through Gate G.

Per current legislation, supporters will not be able to view the pitch whilst in the pop up bar area but it is hoped that these events will provide the SPFL and local stakeholders with comfort in the club’s ability to sell alcohol safely within the stadium. ID checks will be made at the turnstile and under 18s will not be permitted to attend the area. Tickets are non-refundable.

We hope this initiative will add to the enjoyment of the matchday experience for supporters. We appreciate your support and will provide any necessary updates closer to the match.

Season Ticket holders have priority access until 10am on Thursday (10th July) to purchase tickets for their season ticket seats either just the seat for the match or access to the pop-up bar too. Season Ticket holders must login to their Main Event tickets account first in order to purchase tickets. They will only have the option to purchase for their Season Ticket seat(s), they cannot choose to purchase any additional seats or change their seat during the priority window. This priority window applies to both the Arbroath match on Saturday 19th July and the Forfar match on 22nd July.

Tickets for both matches will then go on general sale on Thursday 10th July at 10am and any season ticket seats not purchased during the priority window will be released for general sale. Any tickets remaining for the pop-up bar will also go on general sale.

That`s a cracking deal at Ayr United, 35 quid for a match ticket and 5 pints. When you consider the match ticket is probably more than £20, there`s not many places you can get 5 pints of Moretti for 15 quid

It`s sad, as it`s always synonymous with the Pars for so many years. However, the quality in recent seasons has been becoming poorer and poorer and things had to change.

Yep. Bit of a shame that a local company couldn`t be getting a slice of the pie (pun intended) from the catering.

Stephens used to offer a good product at the match but the standards have slipped quite badly over the last few seasons, to the point where I wouldn`t even bother getting anything even if I was quite peckish, or had had a few pints.

It`s a shame for them, but in my opinion they have let their standards go, and really, ripped this p1ss, so they only have themselves to blame

I say this as a fan of Stephen’s and someone who very much believes in helping local businesses, but as has been said, there’s nobody else to blame for this than Stephen’s themselves.

The standard of food has been poor for years, as has the range. Go down to other grounds and you’ll find a more interesting range and better quality than we were getting at Dunfermline. Our food choices were still stuck in the 90’s, and the quality was substandard. They wouldn’t sell what they were offering in their shops, why sell it at EEP?

Stephens won`t lose much but the staff will. Hopefully they can get jobs for the new outfit.

Stephens have a great history in Dunfermline and at EEP but the famous bridies have been a shadow of their former selves for over a decade now. The offering by Stephens was also really quite poor by modern standards. I`d argue some of that was down to the space made available to them though.

Food over the years got worse and was barely edible last season, meanwhile the prices inside the stadium for it sky rocketed to ridiculous levels. No love lost for them departing and hopefully the new options are better value for money.

I know a couple of people who’ve worked behind the counters in the kiosks who will tell you the same thing. The food is NOT leftovers from any of their shops.

Have to say they never tasted fresh, 70% pastry 30% meat and what they were charging was a joke for a sub standard product

That’s down to the ancient warming equipment in the kiosks. The new catering company will hopefully be replacing them.

That’s definitely not true. As buffy said part of the problem was equipment. Still think it was due for a change though.

It wasn’t just the quality of the food and equipment though really.

The service was slow, really limited choice and limited stock as well, to count how many times we popped over at HT and then turned away because there was little to naff all there.

They also close immediately after HT, probably reasonable rationale for that but thought having the option to buy would through the second half would be sensible.

Then the prices, captive market so expect to be a little more expensive but they were ridiculous.

Totally agree with this, absolutely certain they were made to a different meat:pastry mix for the batch heading for EEP and they just profiteered over football supporters. If you bought in shop and compared to one in the ground they were totally different in amount of filling & poor heating equipment will do nothing to remedy that.

It`ll be interesting to see what will be on offer, genuinely what kind of thing are fans hoping for ? Are we hoping for decent fast food or healthier options ?

Ultimately it`s going to be difficult to please everyone and in all likelihood it`s going to cost more than a Pie or Bridie, but then you get what you pay for.

It was always the wee things attached to travelling to away games that stood out, whether it was the soup at Brechin or Fish Pie at Peterhead. I knew plenty of away fans that would relate a Bridie to an away day at East End Park, what will we be synonymous with now.

Stephens could have went some way to redeeming themselves by selling Lentil soup and a roll at EEP.
Cost effective and popular.
My opinion in general wasn’t that the food was bad but the lack of choice on show.
They could have had pre prepared filled rolls. More cakes and biscuits etc
End of an era indeed but they’ve had a good innings.

^^^ The larger the menu, the more wastage you have and slower service. Smaller menus for such a limited time to sell is definitely good business sense.

Perhaps the new caterers will continue with the legacy and introduce a Steak Bridie to their own menu 🤔

I can`t see the club taking any interest in what`s being sold. More like anything fresh will need disposed of if it isn`t sold as it won`t keep. I`d think Thomas Franks will be a bit more imaginative but as others have said there will be some complaining about prices.

If people aren’t happy with the prices then more fool them for paying it. There are plenty options to eat away from the ground, yes, I quite enjoying sitting in a stadium munching a pie, or whatever, but I’ve also gone to grounds and refused to buy anything because I’m not willing to pay the price for it or because I don’t enjoy the catering company enough to warrant paying the price (Pie Sports as an example).

As someone who spent many a high school lunchtime visiting Stephens, the quality is undoubtedly poorer, but also the competition is better. Baynes is better. As a Dunfermline boy I feel I`m betraying my roots in favour of the Ballingry bakers, but it`s true.

Stephens only have themselves to blame. The quality absolutely fell off a cliff while the prices kept creeping up. Fans have been moaning about it for seasons and nothing changed. They clearly weren’t listening. When folk are forking out good money at the game, the least you expect is a half decent pie. Glad it’s been binned and fair play to the club for finally making the change. Buzzing to see what the new offering`s like on Tuesday, hopefully something worth it.

Stephen’s have been on the decline for years. There food in general isn’t as good as it was. Bayne’s, Stewart’s all serving better quality pies etc. the stuff at EEP was the lowest quality that Stephen’s could have produced. I hope it’s a shot in the arm for them because they need it.

I don’t get why folk are posting a bit of hate for pie sports. No being funny but every pie sports pie I’ve had has been much better than any Stephen’s pie - especially one bought at EEP. Also, the pie sports kebab pie was actually really good. The Stephen’s one 😬 less than average. Actually the McGhee ones you can get from Asda and stick in the oven yourself are better than a Stephen’s kebab pie.

Living in the West, when you mention who you support it`s a pretty much stick on that someone will mention the steak bridie and thats from experiences and visiting EEP often 15+ years ago with Rangers, Celtic or whoever else.

I`d say after the `Say Aye To A Killie Pie` it`s the most well known tie in or product you`d place against a Scottish team. Stephen`s really missed a trick and got complacent with this one

I get that the ovens at EEP are out of date, but hope for more variety this season.

Don`t want a vast choice though, it`s a game of football, and speed is of the essence.

I remember we did it in house for a bit, and it was unworkable as it took forever.

Little bit disappointed ad thought they would bring something slightly different to the table - burgers, hot dogs, chips etc. but willing to give it a try and see if the quality is better.

Wonder if they also provide drinks for young kids too (4 year old) as only fizzy juice isn’t an option for that age.

Yeah disappointed but see what happens.

Irn Bru was always on the menu with Stephen’s but as flat as a pancake as they poured it out in cups ready to hand out - so that’s certainly not new.

I was hoping for burgers, hot dogs etc as well. I reckon it’s probably more the facilities available that are restricting it.

Most of my reasoning for a change was because of a lack of variety.
This menu is just more of the same and probably more expensive.
I hoping it’s just due to not upgrading facilities in the kiosks but at the moment not impressed with what I’ve read.

I think it was a Stuarts creation in this area first off. Prices will most certainly be higher, with it being a catering company and not a local bakers.

Last season, i only made it away to Firhill (pie sports, good selection of pies and maybe a rollover if you`re lucky) and Cappielow (wee van with poor quality rolls just by the entrance) and neither particularly streets ahead of EEP (Morton worse)

Question for the more well-travelled Pars fans... which Championship ground does it best and what were they offering that we (currently) aren`t?

Nobody is “whining” about the taste, try reading instead of sheet stirring, the disappointment comes from a very similar choice I.e pies and bridies.
Browsing the media platforms the majority of folk were looking for a move away from baked goods which hopefully will come through time.

This is just the start of a new partnership, if the quality is improved that`s a good start. The more selection you start offering, the greater the difficulty is to keep the quality high.

As for the cashless point, I understand the frustration especially from older fans. However, the number of times I`ve been stuck behind someone fiddling around with change and holding up the queue as opposed to tapping a card or phone is also pretty annoying. It makes the staff`s job easier as well.

I`m looking forward to the new supplier, I always used to love having a Bridie at the football but in recent years I`ve just eaten before or after due to the declining standards.

Being cashless means it`s much more hygienic and a lot easier and faster for the staff to get people served. The only people that seem to make an issue of wanting to use cash are Superstar Tradesmen that are coining it in, and don`t want to have to pay their taxes like everyone else has to

I don’t get the logic here.

You’re basically saying you’d rather lick the back of some sweaty ball sack, p15h, sh1t or if it’s just been cleaned bleach, than handle cash?

You know if it worries you that much you can wear gloves or wash your hands after you’ve handled cash. There really is no reason for licking toilet seats

Went at 20:05, eventually got served at 20:20. Got some of the very last few items of hot food left. 500ml bottles being poured for every punter taking ages. Very expensive. Pie and bridie were at least very good. Was in the Main Stand. Big fail from Thomas Franks on the first outing

Bit predictable they would run out of food as people were queuing an hour before kick off.
That’s normal as folk want to try the new fare on offer.
Don’t know what the pies were like but enjoyed the bridie I must say. Coffee was fine as well.
Price wise not so tasty.

Im bresking that down iny napper guessing,:
Irn bru £2
Bovril £1.50
That makes the pies £4 each.

The board showed the soft drinks as being £2.50 but I was only charged £1.90 so I assumed it was an opening night discount.
To be fair, the boy didn`t even pour the entire drink into my cup, to which the lady in charge kindly reminded him that he needed to pour all the drink into the cup.

Yeah, it is and it’s the reason I’ll not be using it. It’s £4 at Hampden, which I find crazy. If people want to spend that, then fill your boots but it’s not for me. I would be over £16 for a pie, drink and a biscuit for me and my son, that’s ridiculous IMHO.

It is, Dave.

After having some thoughts about it all ~ in the cold light of day and some sleep ~ there was too much juice in the big plastic cup. It was flimsy too and I didn’t put it up on the ledge in the Pb because I thought some poor souls on the steps would get a right soaking if it tipped over. I didn’t finish the juice because there was too much (no’ like me) and I do like Pepsi Max.

The only drinks options for kids (I think) were the capri sun; or perhaps there’s a chance of asking for a smaller cup? Lids would be handy, I agree.

A couple of pals had the Killie pies. They said they were great.

I had my eye on the Sammy double biscuit though.
Next time, Sammy. 🤪

Prices will be higher but also quality better.

It seems daft they`re emptying bottles into cups. I`m pretty sure Falkirk have the kiosks set up to do draught drinks. Surely this works out cheaper and allows the option for small/medium/large?

Although I really rate the Brownings bridies and pies, it would be good to see some options from local firms like Baynes and Stuart`s.

If it’s the latter, then do those people buy popcorn and hot dogs etc, when they go to the cinema?

Wonder what the deal between the caterer and the club looks like?

I know Pie Sports (who i think do it all really professionally) pay PTFC a premium per head based on the official attendance. Around a quid from what I heard. So 3,000 attendance, £3k to the club.

I suspect the caterer is largely responsible for the infrastructure improvement/setup costs too. Bigger ovens and contactless payments = larger range, more pies and quicker sales!

My daughter has sold pies at Firhill the past few seasons and this season they`ve only just got Juice guns in rather than pouring from bottles. It can take time for stuff like this to get put in place. We can`t expect vast improvements overnight.

If I go to the Odeon I pay £7.99 for nachos, if I go to Morrisons a bag of Doritos can be £1.25 & a jar of nacho cheese for £1.50 - food always has an increase in price to consume on premises compared to buying in a supermarket 🤷🏻‍♂️

Morrisons don`t need to throw away bin bags of unsold pies at the end of each day, also, their business is more than one hour a week, as the kiosks basically are (I`m guessing the staff get paid for more than a single hour)

I don`t think they threw away any pies on Tuesday, considering they were sold out before half time!

The kiosks are also open from 1pm until around 4:15pm so hardly one hour.

I`m sure in the past someone mentioned there was an issue getting mains water into the kiosks? They seem to bring hot water in urns from elsewhere for the hot drinks and don`t seem to have the capacity for soda guns. Hopefully the investment in the stadium will include things like that and better food warmers etc.

^^^ Perhaps they should just sell the drink in the bottle without dispensing into a cup and simply removing the lid for safety concerns.

This happens at many venues and speeds the process up and keeps the juice nice and fizzy

Baynes could easily provide decent, fresh grub at a lesser price. But the club most likely has never reached out to them. They also don’t overly worry about waste age, so any left overs would be gone to charities etc if need be.

Stirling fan on TikTok gave the scotch pie and 8.5/10.

Instant coffee is a bit daft but I suppose it`s quick. Surely it wouldn`t be that hard to get plumbing into the kiosks?

Honestly both me and my mate felt iffy after having it. A lot of content, but very very salty.

He DID say it was a bit salty.

Agreed coffee is the same as before, but more expensive. Will not be buying it again.

Legends was selling a good selection of hot food today - scotch pies, donar pies, steak pies, steak bridies, chips and cheese/curry sauce, chicken strips etc. Our table certainly enjoyed it 🥧🥙🍟🍗

I got a steak bridie at 2.15. On the down side, it was barely warm and stone cold by the time I’d finished and the filling was more thick gravy than steak, although there were some nice pieces of steak in it. On the plus side, it was tasty, the pastry was light and flaky and £3.70 seemed a fair price.

A few comments about coffee here, the club could probably make a bit of cash out of the sort of mugs that happily pay 4 or 5 quid for a coffee if they got the sort of stuff they like in

Was the alcohol trial in operation today or was that just Tuesday?

I understand there was a bar set up in the Norrie undercroft. There were also folk drinking in the front rows of the main stand.

I didn’t think you were allowed to sell alcohol in view of the pitch?

Not sure I’m a “mug”, however they would definitely make more money out of the coffee if they used beans rather than instant. I have up on the coffee at EEP years ago!

Not sure I understand Kdy. Folk told me there was a bar in the NMC. I saw folk drinking in the main stand but I’ve no idea where the bar was for them.

Alcohol has to be consumed in the concourse, you’re not allowed to drink it at your seat. I don’t think any was sold in the main stand only in the Norrie.

Aye that’s right, KDY Park. You can’t consume alcohol in view of the pitch. That means no bevvy in the stands only in the concorse. As far as I was aware the area for the trial was in the concorse at the Norrie.

Ah I understand now.
Maybe I’ve been mistaken - the folk drinking in the main stand - were holding the large plastic cups. Probably juice.

I need new glesses.

Say what you want about the prices, I had a Bridie and it was really good. Son had a sausage roll and said that was better as well.

It certainly wasn’t the cheapest but I’d much rather pay a bit more and enjoy it, than still pay twice as much as anywhere else and think it’s not as good as it should be.

As far as I can make out they are still Stephen`s bridies so don`t expect to see any difference in quality

The soft drinks are served in what looks like plastic pint glasses, so may have looked like a pint of alcohol.
Out of interest anyone try out the bar in the Norrie.

I had all but given up on the Stephens coffee it was that bad. Thought I’d give the new crowd a chance with their coffee yesterday, and it’s just as undrinkable and a bit more expensive. How difficult can it be to get the coffee to water ratio better? Or use marginally more expensive instant coffee powder? I’d happily take a smaller amount of liquid if I didn’t have to have the weekly musing as to whether they’ve actually given me tea instead. Anyhoo, it’s moot, as I’m done with it.

No, it’s Brownings and honestly it’s much better than a Stephen’s Bridie. Not even close.

Brownies bridies are far, far better than a Stephens one. My only concern would be the preservatives in them. They sell the same ones in Aldi so they have a decent shelf life whereas Stephens don`t as they`re made fresh.

Even for mid-afternoon games spectators may have travelled some distance and it may be some time since they have eaten or before they will eat again so having a food outlet caters for a need. This will be particularly true for evening games when you may have had to leave straight from work to get there.

It is also part of the game’s tradition. And, apparently, popular demand insists that catering is part of the match-day experience which must be enhanced.

However, I have to say that my initial impression is that it the new offering is not significantly better.

For the Hamilton game I think there was only one kiosk open in the main stand – this meant long queues and the hassle of having to squeeze past lines of supporters in an effort to get back to your seat, whilst trying not to drop or spill anything. \Inside the room, the table with milk and condiments was next to the queue, rather than on the other side where there was plenty of unused space which seemed less than ideal.

Cashless may be the way forward, but the service still seemed slow – perhaps familiarity with the machines will help here, but there did seem to be a lot of tapping of screens - and then I didn’t get my bridie, so I had to ask again. It was actually quite tasty, and the coffee was nice and hot.

For the Stirling game, the other cafeteria was open and there was no queue. However, this time I had to chase up my coffee (it may have been the same server) and the cup could have been fuller. The bridie was luke-warm.

The German biscuits are smaller and there seems to be more packaging which seems to be bucking current trends. Decanting soft drinks from 500ml bottles into cups does seem an odd way of doing it.

The operators claim to be seeking free consultancy advice (feedback). How do I provide this?

I sampled the drink trial. Carling or fruity cider on offer. Little place to stand. Barriers to make sure we didn’t wander. Frankly boring and nothing to do and little area to put your plastic glass. Had come from legends so instead of watching sky and sitting was eating a pie ( pretty decent) and standing.
Lots to learn.
