If we are paying money to get him from livi and they have only bought him in June themselves, if I was Zake I would be pumped big time.
That’s a big statement of confidence.
I hope it happens

Fits the profile we’ve been crying out for in terms of physical, scores a decent amount, experienced at this level. Can also be a bit of a pr*ck on the pitch. Not my first choice but has the potential to be a good signing.

From COWS -
Dunfermline Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of striker Zak Rudden from Livingston on a 2 year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old Edinburgh-born forward brings a wealth of experience across Scottish football, having previously played for clubs including Rangers, Dundee, Partick Thistle and Queen’s Park. The striker’s footballing journey has seen him make a total of 238 professional appearances, scoring 66 goals.
Zak began his professional career in the Rangers youth system before breaking through to train with the first team in 2018. His development continued with successful loan spells, including a memorable season at Falkirk in 2018-19 where he netted 12 goals, and an 18 game stint south of the border with Plymouth Argyle in English League Two.
His time at Partick Thistle saw him find the net 18 times in nearly 50 appearances. At Dundee, he continued to prove his worth with 56 appearances and important goals, including match-winners and equalisers that demonstrated his ability to deliver when it matters most.in 2022-23 season he played 12 games at St Johnstone where he was a teammate of Chris Kane.
Internationally, Zak has represented Scotland at four different youth levels through to the under-21s.
Welcome to the Pars Zak!

Undisclosed fee? Surely we haven’t paid very much for him given livi got him for free?
At least it’s another experienced option who has scored goals previously at this level and had a bit about him in terms of workrate and physicality so we have options maybe they still have another striker to come in who’s a bit more higher profile?

Men’s first-team manager David Martindale said: “In all honesty, it came as a bit of a surprise and neither myself or Zak had any knowledge of Dunfermline’s interest until I had a phone call from them.
“I spoke with Zak and we had a very good conversation face-to-face and I explained this wasn’t part of our plans, but that I would understand if he wanted to be a regular number 9 week-in week-out as his playing time has been limited so far this season.
“To be fair to Zak, he wasn’t looking to leave but when we both talked it over, it was obvious that this would be a very good move for him from a footballing point of view, and we would receive a nominal transfer fee which always helps in any move. It felt like a good deal for all parties.
“Zak leaves with nothing but our best wishes and in the short period I’ve worked with him, I can honestly say I enjoyed my time coaching him and having him here.
“Like I say, it really came out of the blue but I feel we are well covered at the top end of the park and I was happy to shake Zak’s hand and wish him all the best.”
Good luck, Zak!

Rudden scored 9 goals in the championship last season on a team which was just as bad as us, he was their Kane, that’s 3 times as many as the striker he’s replacing in our team.
Rudden has 48 league goals in 188 games, compared to who was playing last season he will be far more effective and we should score more goals as a result, he’ll to used to working with very little as queens were hardly pleasing on the eye.
It’s a decent move, also having him suggests we are no longer desperate for a striker which might bring some players who have previously been asking for too much back to the table.

Decent signing for Championship. Big lad well over 6ft so should win far more headers than the new Fleetwood striker ever did and will win more than Kane who tends to look for fouls more often than not.
Ruddens success at Pars will come down to the quality of service that we can provide…..or not. Get good crosses in and he will score goals. Think Graham Bain, not the most gifted footballer but probably the last “ old fashioned” CF we had.
You also have to factor in that if he and Kane are playing together under the lights then the combined glare off their heads will surely be an advantage…….
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Im guessing what’s happened is we have chased certain players and not got the deals done, meaning we’ve had to look to more options closer to home (geographically and experience wise).
Its not a bad signing, its not a terrific signing, but I think he will add goals. If him and Kane can both hit double figures this season, its a win.
The other good thing is he has had a pre season and some game time already this year, so wont be too far off the pace.
Welcome Zak.

I`ve seen enough that Kearney and Fraser will put in really decent crosses from the wide areas, just need a striker to attack the ball (and Lennon to start Kearney), which we haven`t had without Kane.
He`s experienced and has a good goal return for the level, I`m pleased we`re still looking for another striker but bringing in a more reliable option at this level than Young was a priority.

Welcome to the Pars, Zak. I hope you prove any doubters wrong by getting into double figures. You may not have been a goalscoring machine before now, but we don`t know the %age of good chances you have converted.
I`m convinced that if the rest of the team create the chances, you and Kane will put a decent number of them away.

….And how well did our forwards do at starks park? Bullied, because we lack experience. I dont think Stevenson would have ‘done’ him. He is an experienced striker even if all he does is “ throw his weight around “ and create space for our young players.
You can’t knock the guy, until you have seen him perform for us.

Meaningless stat even if it is true. Most headers Mcann won went to nobody.
How many headers did Mcann have on target and how many did he score ? One at Kelty I think. Tbf the service he got was poor but so was his timing of the jump mostly.

Just to clarify, I was the first person to post about the Bulgarian guy on here, the one supposedly costing a “six-figure fee.” I’ve no idea what’s happened with that rumour, but the info came from a journalist who appeared on the BBC Scottish Football podcast a day or two after Wanyama signed. If anyone really wants to check, you can listen back to it.
As for the rest of the rumours you mentioned, I’ve got no clue.
Anyway, welcome to the club, Zack Rudden. If I’m being honest, I’m neither buzzing nor gutted about the signing, but I trust the job Lennon’s doing. Hopefully, he’s another piece of the puzzle that helps us kick on.

When did Borg become involved in Sheffield United? They signed a couple of players from the Bulgarian league, including a young striker, is it possible he was initially earmarked for here? It all seems to be going a bit pear shaped for them currently though, sitting at the bottom on nil points. They are probably wishing they had stuck with Wilder.

I actually think this might be a good move for us. Rudden might do a decent job for us in a position we have sorely needed to improve for a while. If he can get a double figure goal tally this season I’ll be happy with that.
At 25 perhaps Ruddens best years are still ahead of him. I hope so.

After taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture, it’s clear we were crying out for a proven Championship striker, someone with experience and a track record of finding the net. Rudden fits that bill perfectly. He’s shown he can deliver at this level, so naturally most fans will back him and give him the chance to make an impact.
Honestly, I think he’s a clear upgrade on Brad Holmes and Yeboah. The more I’ve thought about it today, the more I believe a partnership with Kane could be a real handful for defenders. There’s real potential there. I just hope Lennon throws him straight in on Saturday against Ross County.

I think Rudden is a decent enough player, but I think he is the sort of player who needs intelligent and creative players around him. Hopefully, players like Caceres and KRH (if he can find some form) will help him thrive.

Some players just play their game, plug away, and are consistent without creating a fuss. At 25 years old. he has his best football to come. He has dropped down a division because he wants to play regularly. That tells me he has the right attitude. Sometimes, you have to take a step back to take a step forward.
Sometimes its not about the best players but players who can play well with each other to become more than the sum of their parts.

The thing is that "influencers" pump out hot take clickbait sensationalist tripe to get views and clicks for their "content", which pays. Not a very wholesome way to earn a living, but I can see the motive. On here it just comes across as juvenile, copycat garbage. Please stop.
“Influencers” are the exact problem with the world these days. People like Bonnie Blue and Ibiza Final Boss getting famous for ridiculous reasons and the teens lap it up these days. The people are the reason that pubs and nightlife are struggling to succeed. They are also the reason that the nations next generation are going to grow up entitled to anything and everything without lifting a finger to earn it.
Its also a reason that football clubs will struggle - either with dwindling numbers or more idiots disobeying the rules (pyro, racism etc) to get a “like” on Facebook

We had Campbell at the same time as Georgi Hristov did we not? That was some front line...
And had Bartosz Tarachulski and Jesper Christiansen around that time too

I think Rudden will be alright. I’m sure a few years ago fans were disappointed when we missed out on him under McPake (think he went to Raith).
I think he’ll offer something different that we’ve not had since Todorov. An out-and-out 6ft+ striker to get on the end of crosses into the box.
With Kearney, Caceres, Fraser, KRH we’ll hopefully get him some service.
