If he played same team as Saturday and included some key players who by cup tie would have played 6 games on heavy pitches in 17 or so days. If a couple picked up knocks that keep them out or reduce ability for Saturday NL would be getting it tight. Damned if he does , damned if he doesn’t . Lennon sees players day in day out and can assess mental tiredness as much as physical tiredness , you have to trust his judgement

💯
Lots of comments about Chiloka - Mullens performances of late. He’s 20 years old and needs a rest that’s why you have a squad. There are others in the same boat with a big cup tie coming this weekend. All those in tonight’s team will have been at NL looking for minutes on the pitch it’s up to them to step up.

We could do with better deliveries from free kicks, they`re being wasted by Matty. Morrison`s acceleration and desire to win the ball gets him A+. Hope he`s rewarded with a hat-trick. Amade harrassing, nicking the ball and passing well. The tempo was really good till the second goal, faded a bit after that. Looking OK but we`re still squandering a few good chances to attack their box.

Roberto Martinez was on the Stick to Football podcast last week and was talking about how the game has changed in the last 10 years. He talked how it used to be all about the starting 11 and players only cared about being one of the 11. Since the introduction of five substitute rule he went on to say many coaches and managers will think more about what personnel finish a game than start a game and the effect subs can have , how game can flow and importance of having right players to come on and influence game.
Thought he made some points that really were food for thought about how modern coaches have changed approach to games and how players attitudes have changed and see being part of the squad and sometimes being in the 11 that finish a game is more important than starting.

When I left the house, I thought the line up wasn`t strong, and was expecting Ross Co to have a real go, but the truth was we were on a completely different level to them, completely outplayed them
They had nothing but hammer throwers with a couple of donkeys thrown in (number 5 especially) and we completely had the measure of them .

Lennon gambled (so did a few punters, Ross Co. 3/1 into 13/8 today as news of the changes emerged.) but it looks very astute now.
No JCM in the squad let’s hope he’s good for Saturday.
No real failures maybe Kearney apart, didn’t do much at all.
Amade and Hamilton very good 1st half, Turley, showed pace and great feet. Thomas did well, Morrison took his chances and worked hard as always.
I expected more from County, it appeared from results that they were improving but they lacked any real quality, they look in bother.
Feet up now and watch Aberdeen play Celtic tomorrow where we’ll all be hoping they come through it unscathed.

Amade and Hamilton were outstanding, first half especially.
Morrison scored two good goals for a player being shoehorned into a striking role.
The mazy run from Turley in the second half where he ended up being fouled was a real highlight. As others have said he is a real find and I would be gutted for him if he were to miss out on a starting slot on Saturday.

We were class tonight.
Morrison showed exactly why he signed him, the form he was in at F***irk before they sold him to N.I. I told my old man he when we signed him that was the type of player that will do things that win games. Tonight he showed it with two half chances he stuck in the net.
Hammy was class first half, never gave them a second and kept winning us the ball.
Amade had a great night.
Turley looks a player, pity he isn’t ours.
Ox did everything asked of him. Feel much more confident with him in goals than any of the other 3 we played this season.
Nobody had a bad game.
Had the three games in the last week went badly we might be seriously worried now but with 7 points out of 9 we are sitting fourth and ten points off the bottom.
Gaffer will be delighted. A few who came in tonight must have given Lennon something to think about when he picks the team for the Aberdeen game on Saturday. I can’t wait.

Thomas and Turley were excellent.
We didn`t have the best success with the January academy/u23 signings last year but those two are getting better and better. Is there anywhere Turley can`t play?! Anyone see what happened when it looked like there was a fight?
I thought Kearney made mistakes but otherwise the whole team played well.
Being two goals up at halftime for a change was delightful!

That was a great match to watch, all the lads done great and really good to see everyone getting stuck in and battling to win the ball. RC just couldn’t handle it. Superb goals! Great feeling leaving EEP after a very entertaining game. Can’t wait till Saturday. It’s gonna be bouncing.

Morrison certainly took advantage of their errors though.

Lennon played a blinder and the team were excellent. Plenty quality but effort and fight from our guys tonight impressed me most.
Hope we can show a bit more conistency from here.
One final thing. Shouts about Pars fans being gutted we won and played well are pathetic.
Divisive horrible posts like that boils my pihs. The forum seems to spattered with that sneering attitude.
Yeah some folk were defeatest about the line up but it`s because they have an opinion and care. To say they are gutted because their team won is worse than any of those posts.

Can’t add much to what has already been said……..
For me……..They looked like they were really enjoying themselves tonight to a man. Everyone wanted the ball.
Great team performance.
Mention in dispatches:
Thomas - Led the line well & fights for everything. He’s getting better every game just needs a goal………..Saturday would be an ideal place to start Olly.
Turley - Well played sir & that piss_taking run at the end where he shimmied past 3 players before he was bought down. Superb…….
A good night out.
You’ve seen the Pars now please go home!

Lennon got tactics and selection spot on. Amade and Hammy absolutely bossing the midfield through work rate and determination. Amade also showing some quality with his passing. He’s liable for a mistake but also just as liable to do something really well. The assist for the second was a great pass. He put pace on the ball accurately and Morrison done really well to take it.
Been done well. Full 90 minutes. Defensively played well.
Fair play to Turley as well. They tried to knock him about and he gave just as good as he got back but also made some really smart decisions. He passed pretty well and showed some good footwork.
I’d probably give Hammy Motm but special mention for Amade. The two of them 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

We played well tonight. A fairly comprehensive win, which when looking at the original line up pre game didn’t look likely. Thomas led the line very well tonight I thought as a special mention.
Two things though…..
How bad are Ross County? A team full of lumberjacks who just chuck their weight about and create the best part of heehaw for 90 minutes.
How bad are Scottish officials? They are getting worse!

How do I add to the thread when everything I wanted to say has already been said?
I thought we were excellent tonight and Ross Co looked as poor a side as I’ve seen at EEP in a long time. They are definitely deep in the mire and I just can’t see them getting out of this with that group of players……and to think, I was desperate for us to sign Gallagher & Doherty last summer 🙈
Play like that more games than not, and we really do have a chance, but we have been here before.
Delighted tonight and proud of the team.

Callum Morrison deserved man of the match. Two great goals and the first was a peach.
Overall I thought a great team performance. Good to see Bene back and defensively we were solid against a bug team. Good to see us getting balls through the defence and being more direct. Olly Thomas had his best game for us and he looks to have come on in the last few games. Turley looked good and I thought he looks better in that position. Shea Kerarney us getting back to his old self. Chris Hamilton and Alfons Amade in midfield looked a good pairing. Matty Tood was solud and I thought he played better tonight. Should have been selfish when he overturned tge ball and ran on snd had a shot at goal. Subs came on at the right time and got us back on the front foot. Great movement in the box to create the opportunity for Chris Kane to score. I dont recall our jeeper having to make a save but did everything he needed to do. Kieran is growing into that central defence role and has great pace. Enjoyed the performance tonight. Fortune favours the bold and we were bold tonight.

First things first.
That was an outstanding performance from the team tonight.
I can’t even name a player that played badly and that is a first this season.
We were also up against easily the worst opposition I’ve seen in the flesh this season too so it balances itself out.
I have to admit to having major reservations about the starting lineup and wondering the thinking behind it as Ross County are no mugs and had a bit of a good run going themselves but we blew them away from start to finish.
Morrison had his best game tonight.
He just wanted to be involved in every scrap and scored two good goals.
Amade was outstanding in midfield and showed he’s really up for a scrap.
Bene was great for his return and played it safe and sound as you’d expect.

Excellent performance. Amade was brilliant and thought was a good foil for Hamilton who had a great game also. Bene done well although lack of game time showed at times. I think we have an excellent squad for the run in.
It`s a pity Morrison is suspended for Saturday as he is really coming onto a game.

Like Saturday, I found much of the game quite dull. We were OK in the first half with play quite even, but two good goals won the game for us while we weren`t really threatened at the back. Hamilton won a good tackle in the lead up to the first and Amade did really well for the second. A lot of credit due to Morrison for the first in particular as he looked so wide that only a perfect shot right into the far corner would do.
As on Saturday, most of the second half saw us try to defend with the ball. We gave it away a few times while trying that but Ross County were pretty hopeless and didn`t look likely to score. We were slowing it down and going nowhere, then having to hit long to nobody. That changed after the subs, and I finally got properly into the game in the last 15 mins. Chris Kane in particular made a big difference and we started to look a threat again. Looked a pretty good finish for his goal to finish it.
Turley, Hamilton, Amade and Morrison were all pretty good. Not Kearney`s best game, and he was lucky to stay on after a foul in the second half. I`m pretty sure the ref was going to give a yellow before he realised who it was. It looked like he let County players waway with a series of cloggers tackles after that.
A good win in the end and 6 points from teams below us gives us a gap to the bottom that feels a bit more comfortable. It wasn`t great having to play 3 midweeks in a row but the last 3 have worked out pretty well.

An excellent, all round performance by the Pars, with no failures. Three well taken goals ( didn`t fancy Morrison to score the opener on his left foot) and the team stood up well to some nasty "tacklies" from County.
I can`t agree with posters who suggested that we won because RC were rubbish. They`ve had some very good results since Kettlewell replaced Tony Docherty. A very pleasant selection headache for Neil Lennon for the Aberdeen game, but everyone will be buzzing after that result.

Brilliant team performance last night.
That said, they’re comfortably the poorest side I’ve seen at EEP this season. Never really laid a glove on us.
Thought Thomas and Morrison linked up really well. Thomas did all the dirty work, won his battles and occupied defenders, which gave Morrison the freedom to drift into pockets and make things happen. That balance worked a treat.
Amade was outstanding again, so composed and influential. He’s quickly becoming one of the first names on the teamsheet for me. I never once felt like we were in danger of conceding. We looked solid, organised, and in control from start to finish.
Great to see Morrison back on the scoresheet too. Shows the quality he’s got when things click for him and he can be a big player for us if he keeps that up.
Referee was absolutely atrocious. Completely lost control at times. There was a genuine worry someone was going to get seriously hurt with the amount of persistent fouling County were getting away with. Poor standard.
All in all though, a very good performance and three points well earned. More of that please.
This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

A good few comments I agree with, stating Ross County were pretty poor, but that Pars team played superbly in patches. The opening 20 mins was terrific, and a great goal was reward for their efforts.
Great move and finish for the 2nd, then it all got a bit scrappy, with a ref who started off punishing everything - and disrupting the flow - then deciding to let anything go! Hence the rammy just before half-time.
Well done to the players who came in! With so many games in a short space, Lennon deployed his squad well, brought in freshness and the guys who came in all took their chance, standing up well to some fairly cynical challenges and playing some really good football.
Suspect the team will be on more normal lines for Saturday, but the effort and skill last night shows the potential and competition for places.

It`s encouraging to know that kind of performance is possible after so many changes from Saturday and without players like Terreĺl, JCM, J Tod, Otoo, TOB, Rudden and MacLeod being involved at all. NL has built quite a squad in a year.
I was impressed by the number of 50-50 challenges we won with wee guys like Amade, Bray and Hammy in midfield but also our use of the ball. Distribution was quick and accurate and Ross County just couldn`t cope. At last Morrison got some reward for his constant run̈ning and harrying and Thomas led the line weĺl. Turley was outstanding too.
I was expecting more from Ross County but we were just too good for them. NL hinted the team for Saturday is more or less picked already but it`s good to know we have more options than we thought we had.

There are plenty references to RC being poor throughout this thread, and it is a common theme when we win.
It isn`t surprising some people would get annoyed at that. Nothing sensitive about it.
It does take away from our performance.
RC have shown signs of improvement under new management with some decent results. It fitted the agenda before the match to suggest they were going to climb the table. Quite a few thought we could lose the match.
To then say they are poor again just frustrates me.
They looked poor didn`t create much because we were very good on the day and didn`t let them. They weren`t poor because the are crap. They were poor because we were immense.

The suggestion from some is that posters are trying to discredit the Dunfermline performance when I don`t see that anywhere.
We got what we deserved in the game, primarily through Amade and Hamilton battling away in the middle of the park and winning the ball in good areas.

They beat the wee team etc. we made them look poor because we targeted the weak players, harassed the donkeys etc to make errors.
Unless you want every post to go on at some length these reasons, I think most people can assume the above.

Not in those exact words, Westie, but that was the impression I got reading some posts on this thread. I prefer to say we played so well that we made RC look poor, and they were, but it`s a matter of emphasis. According to the P&J, RC had 6 clean sheets in their previous 8 games. Before that, there was a sizeable points gap at the foot of the table, but along with Airdrie, they`ve reduced that considerably.

Agree wee eck. Its a bit of a reductionist approach to say because they are bottom they are poor. You can hit tge rocks thinking that way. Any team can beat any other in this league if you let them. The point is in my view, we didnt let them. Last night was an example of the depth of squad we have and competition for places.

Really enjoyed last night`s game. When up against a team of giants the tendency is to treat the ball like a hot potato so you don`t get caught with it but our boys were really brave with the ball knowing that any minute they could get clattered -with special mention to the young guys Turley, Bray and Morris. Amade was class but showed he could stand his ground too. Chris Hamilton may have his limitations but in games like these he is indispensable. Finally we could have had a problem with our height disadvantage in defending our box but the Ox did his job well in dealing with a lot of the high stuff.

Surely anyone stressing that the opposition is poor is belittling the achievement of his own team? They may not have meant to imply that, but that`s what I and some others inferred from that. PARrot hit the nail on the head when he said it`s not about sensitivity. It`s annoying.

The reason County looked so bad was our work rate without the ball, closing down the space for them to play into. With the ball we played with real tempo and we were much more mobile. One thing I did notice was we won a lot of second balls through our tenacious getting after it attitude, something that has been missing over the last few games. Yes County were bad but that was purely down to our players working their asses off. Well played boys

It’s difficult to know whether County were poor or whether we made them look poor. It doesn’t really matter – we are into the business stage of the season where it is more about short term results than long term thinking.
Maybe the cup-tie on Saturday helped NL make some brave decisions - making 6 changes seemed extraordinary, but it worked. We’ve all been saying that some players needed a rest but it seemed that it was always expedient to give them one more game as we really needed a result.
Amade seems to have come into form again – his ball winning of late has been very beneficial. I wondered if not having Gilmour alongside him last night meant he was forced to think more positively, but it’s possible that County gave him options that he doesn’t normally have.
Our January window signings are usually mince on the whole but Turley looks a find, and Thomas has some qualities - strength, speed, not bad in the air and can hold the ball up. He needs to get a goal though.
That penalty on Saturday might have been worth 3 goals – even looking at it on the highlights I couldn’t see what it was given for but the players accepted it without fuss so I assume it was clear cut. The point is that Morrison opening his account took the pressure off a little which meant he had the confidence to shoot from a very unpromising angle for his first, and to hit it quickly for the second. A good finish from Kane as well capped a fine night. It was almost like the old days.
We’ve still lost more than we’ve won though, yet we are fourth. There have been a lot of draws this season – no-one is playing well, no-one particularly badly. A wee run of good or bad form will make a big difference. The depth in our squad is coming to the fore and the pitches will start to improve again soon.
Aberdeen will be a different kettle of fish but we can go into that with confidence.

That`s you being cynical I`m afraid.
You obviously feel that certain posters are unable to post without criticising the team that you infer any negative comments regarding the opposition are intended to belittle our teams efforts.
Let`s just agree to disagree then. You couldn`t be any wider of the mark with that assessment. In football parlance your shot at goal went out for a shy. 🙂
Some of us prefer to highlight the positive display from the Pars rather than the failings of Ross County last night. I realise the two are intertwined rather than mutually exclusive but I don`t see the need to highlight both, but that`s just my personal preference.
Btw, the word "cynical" comes from the Greek word for dog. The ancient Greeks believed that dogs had no emotions. I`m definitely not lacking in that department. 😁
Not your average Sunday League player.

Lovely instinctive finish for Morrison`s 2nd goal after an absolutely honking first touch !

Morrisons movement for the 2nd goal is sensational. Goes tight so the defence think they have him then spins into space.
Reacts well after his control as well and a tidy finish, absolutely questioning the goalkeeper though.
Really good from a player who looks to be key the last few weeks!

I thought for tge 2nd he just got the shot off quickly and caught the keeper out. Kane did a similar thing but the keeper saved it. Sometimes we take too many touches I think.

I think Armade is more forward looking that Gilmour who likes to pass backwards or sideways, it made a difference last night. It is good to have options depending on opponents.

I think it’s fair to say Ross County were poor. Two goals came from their inability to play out from the back, although we matched that with a good press. It reminded me of us under Tidser.
Before the pile on starts, we played really well and limited Ross County to persistent fouling without causing any real threat.
This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.
