Banned from running a charity for ten year. That will sort her out. Meanwhile the £1.5m will be burning a hole in her pocket.
Get her in the jail and we will have our money back, please.

His family should have had no direct control of the funds - there are plenty of trustworthy retired military personnel who could have formed an oversight committee.

Tbh it doesn’t matter now! Another 1000 illegals into Britain yesterday to take residence in our 4 star hotels getting fed and personal care on our NHS..
I’m sure captain Tom wouldn’t be a happy guy after what he fought for..
250 million a month it’s costing us taxpayers to house these fighting Muslims and we don’t check their backgrounds…..Captain Tom will be turning in his grave what Britain has turned into now….it’s embarrassing

He definitely wouldn`t be happy after what he fought for.
He fought to defeat fascists and yet here you are our very own home grown version.
Nobody fought in WW2 for what you believe in they fought against that.

Did Brexit not stop the immigration and save us £350m a week? Two birds with one stone I thought?
Also, since when were Holiday Inns and Travelodges classed as 4 star hotels?

I suspect the thousands of our own indigenous homeless would be content with an upgrade to these types of accommodation.

`I suspect the thousands of our own indigenous homeless would be content with an upgrade to these types of accommodation`
Maybe they would, but the only way homelessness and asylum seekers are linked is the horrific actions of the government towards both.
Maybe if we let asylum seekers work whilst claims are being processed they would contribute to the economy? Or we could invest in national infrastructure to house them within local communities, or maybe spend a bit more on processing claims so that`s done more efficiently? We could also set up centres in mainland Europe to avoid them having to take such high risks before making a claim?
Just a few suggestions to avoid having to use hotels as last ditch(which are not nice places to stay long term btw). Not that anyone is interested in solutions. Let`s just get angry at the foreigners

While I can understand the frustration of people coming to the UK via questionable means, I don`t see the need to mention their religion. Is the suggestion that it would be fine if they were Christian, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist? Just the Muslims we have an issue with.
Let`s be frank, the biggest issue in the UK is useless politicians and corrupt media. The lying gits told people Brexit would fix everything and the media supported them. Guess what? It`s not any better and we`re financially worse off. We`ll now likely see more power given to the likes of Reform who couldn`t run a bath.

Anyone who is stupid enough to believe immigrants / asylum seekers are getting fed and receiving four star treatment in the hotels (or any kind of preferential treatment/benefits) the government have paid to house them in deserves a kick up the erse. Don’t be so bloody gullible.

1. Captain Tom is a hero because he enthusiastically killed fascists on sight. He wouldn`t be pandering to them now.
2. British people without homes would rather sleep on the streets than put up with the conditions faced by people seeking asylum here.

The hotel in BPs article is 4 star but far from luxury. The star rating relates to facilities, not the luxury. The hotel in the article is over 50 years old.
There is a valid point though. We shouldn`t be using privately owned hotels to essentially imprison people while we sort out processing. Suggestions like daft boats won`t work but surely there are spare government buildings that could be utilised for a lower cost?

I think everyone is agreed on that, same with homelessness. The reason hotels are used at all is due to our failures to deal with national infrastructure investment. Indeed it`s been cut back with land/property being sold off.
It`s politicians being unable to look beyond the next election. I sell my house and start renting my bank balance looks healthier at first glance. But it`s a poor long term decision, and when you keep making short term decisions there`s severe long term consequences.

It`s all part of a big swizz isn`t it? The hotel companies are coining it in from these government contracts, to the tune of about 145 quid per night, per person. They are being paid well over the odds for what it`s costing them. These are shabby, old rooms that would need renovating before they could get them on booking com. The people that stay in these places aren`t living in the lap of luxury, I know someone that volunteers to help some of the people in settling in. They get food, but it`s rubbish quality and insufficient to feed a human properly, we are in no way getting value for money. It`s all a big money making exercise, taking our tax and putting it into private hands

It is perhaps germane to this discussion that it has been the policy of successive uniparty governments for at least the past 25 years that all small boat arrivals must be housed in at least 3-star hotels.
It is hardly surprising many will be housed in 4-star and above.

More concerned about my taxes and welfare with the junkies walking down Cowdenbeath High Street causing scenes in the middle of the day than a few people fleeing war torn countries on a treacherous boat crossing from France tbh.
But you do you I suppose.

There could be many reasons why they would prefer England to France... For example, Do they speak French or English? Do they have a community from their home country in England? Do they have family or friends in England? Do they believe they have a better chance of getting a job in england?

Again I’m not against migrants but we are paying for illegal immigrants living in hotels and getting free meals/medical facilities etc….
Give it 2-3 years and this country will be full of illegals. Ireland is at a point where there will be bother now.

There`s a clear issue with illegal immigration in the UK. There`s no simple solution but one that is already being implemented unintentionally is to make the UK undesirable as a place to live.
