If he’s not played since July then we should be realistic.
We need to give him a few weeks to get up to speed, with the caveat that if he is half fit, he will stroll it.
Perhaps we can get him ready for the last 5 games?

If he`s kept in shape and ticking over then all good as he`s a naturally big laddie.
Cannot imagine we`d have signed him otherwise as we don`t really have time for him to take a few weeks or whatever it is to get match fit.
Won`t be a Garry O`Connor at Morton scenario anyway.....i hope ;-)

33 years old and not kicked a ball competitively for 9 months, just have to hope he’s kept himself in good condition or he’ll struggle for fitness in the remaining games this season.
The best thing about this is if we can stay up it looks like we’ll have some team next year if this is the level of signing we’re looking at.

Have a day off min 😂 he may not have played for 9 months but he is still levels and levels above any other midfielder in the league. The only one that comes close is Arfield and thats not exactly been a flop…….
On the admin side - did the owners buy out the debt from the Germans? So are we effectively debt free for now? If they don’t put the investment debt on the club then why panic just yet?

Amazing to see all the football agents on this thread. Great insight into the wages we`re offering and also interesting that we are going into administration despite being sold 12 weeks ago debt free. Good to see the club`s accountant also posts regularly.
Hopefully as a "natural athlete" we can see him maybe off the bench at the weekend and then we`ll see if he can start playing games from the start. Great technical ability and even if he can stand in the centre circle and spray passes about like Trevor Brooking did in that friendly all those years ago, he`d be a decent option to keep us ticking over.

Honestly, if you`ve not paid attention to me at the start of the season when I totally predicted that we`d stink the place up, the Germans would take the hump and leave, we`d have a weirdly protracted process of signing an unproven manager from the third tier, get taken over by Americans, sign a whole heap of players, still stink the place up, then bring in Neil Lennon and Victor Wanyama, then more fool you.
Just wait till we get big Virgil on a Bosman in the summer.

Lennon”he needs a new house locally as part of the deal”
Cook”The owner has bought 5 in the same street so tell him to pick up the keys from EEP tomm”
From what I have heard there will be a lot of spending on the stadium and Rosyth getting ditched for training as our American man described it as a Sh**hole and pro players shouldn’t be training there.
Is the NFL coach still here?…. I saw him and he’s like 7 foot and built like a machine..

We have Lennon housed up in a hotel across the water at the moment.
Why? He lives in Glasgow. 😂
Or apparently Edinburgh. He definitely lives local though.
You’re guess is as good as mine.

Think everyone has to take a chill pill. He hasn’t kicked a ball for months and Lennon hasn’t fielded a team yet. The signs are positive but let’s just see how the next few games pan out.

I think we all still need to keep our feet well and truly on the ground.
It is great that we finally have a decent cash flow which is brilliant for the long term but we have to deal with the short term first and foremost and have two huge games firstly against the title challengers to F*lkirk and then Hamilton.
I’m confident we can stay up even if we end up 2nd bottom which is still a real possibility.
Wanyama was a cracking player in his prime but can’t possibly be match fit so I’d advise fans not to expect too many minutes on the park.
Not wishing to spoil the broth but we are in a mire already and no magic wand with a team devoid of confidence but has ability.

If you look at the buzz on here, imagine the buzz in the dressing room right now. The players will be walking on cloud 9 with all the happenings over the last week. A lot of young players have been signed and regardless of when he last played, the positive impact Victor will have off the pitch and in training will be huge!
Its a hard life...

One additional bit of good news (that I may be imagining...) is that in the background of the signing photos the pitch looks much better?
I`d imagine the ground staff were delighted having that Livi game postponed, it`s given the pitch a full month to recover, some of which with temperatures high enough for the grass to grow.

Yeah as excited as I am about signing a player with his pedigree I’ll be judging him once I see him on the pitch. One thing he’ll definitely bring though, is a presence.

Like everyone else, I`m shocked, thrilled and wary. And here`s a thought about Saturday. Never mind our team, but Scott Brown is sure to have Ayr pumped up to put the big spenders back in their box. I`m definitely `glass half empty`, just saying.

I don`t think Neil Lennon would have signed him if he didn`t think he could do a job for us in the last few weeks of the season. There has been almost unanimous approval of NL`s appointment but already some are questioning his judgment.

Tend to agree with Wee Eck ,NL doesnt have the luxury to bring in old friends ,N.L. As he mentioned needs to show hes a good manager and can secure the pars in the league .He needs any player he brings in able to produce from the miniute they arrive to the final whistle of the last game .More than happy with this signing

Absolutely, wee eck. Lennon is highly motivated to keep us in the Championship, partly because he`s a winner, but also because he`s openly stated that he intends to stay on at EEP and that`s unlikely to be the case if the worst case scenario was to happen.

I’ve just explained this to a lovely fellow Pars fan :
“To be honest I thought I’d heard it as Wagamama. I said oh another new sponsor! After I was sat doon, had the (usual) slap across the chops, I was telt about the player we’d signed.”
“It was a bit like when that new cafe opened up town a few years ago. I’m telling everyone it’s called Bert & Ernie’s instead o Bob & Bert’s…..”

I am hopeful but will reserve judgment until I see some evidence on the park. He signed a lot of ex-Celtic players like Gary Hooper whilst in Cyprus presumably thinking they would do a job and he didn`t last long there or in his next job.

The hype and buzz is great, I mean, I`m on board, however I don`t really see anyone questioning anyone`s judgement, just discussion on Wanyama`s fitness, which under the circumstances is reasonable, no?
Lennon has inherited a squad that have largely performed poorly, he has to find a core he can trust to get us to safety, if that means bringing guys in and our owners backing him to that end, it`s surely worth a whirl?
I don`t wanna go down like disco.

“Hi Vic, Lenny here. How’s it goin? How’s your fitness? I know you’ve not played in a while”
“Good to hear from you, gaffer. I’ve been keeping myself as fit as can be without playing. Been in the gym a lot and going for runs. The usual stuff. I feel pretty good”
“That’s great to hear. Listen, how do you fancy coming up to Dunfermline and helping me out for the last seven games? I’m going in as manager and the owners are really keen to stay up. We could do with a few older heads to see us through to the end”
“ I think that would be ideal. I’ve had an offer or two. One from QPR but think I would struggle in that league, what with not having played in a while, but I’m confident I could do a job for you, as long as you’re not expecting me to cover the whole pitch?”
“Big man, if you are 75%, that’ll do for me. Win the ball, keep it simple and protect the centre halves. I’ll talk to the owners and get them to phone you to discuss terms. What’s the best time to get you?”
It`s bloody tough being a legend

Some are questioning Wanyama`s fitness. I`m suggesting NL`s judgement includes an assessment of Wanyama`s fitness, knowing there are only 7 games of the regular League season to go. He knows he has to hit the ground running.

Si ferry was talking about his potential return to playing and said he still runs 5 and 10ks. Now you can`t be telling me if someone at EK is doing that then wanyama who probably feels he still has a few years left in him and who has a very good CV isn`t keeping himself ticking over.
There are a lot of ex players who go into clubs either that they played for in the past or for a manager they know to keep their fitness. For all we know he could have been in somewhere doing just that. We will know when we see him on Saturday where his fitness levels are.

That`s good news about the pitch looking better. March 1st was the last time we played on it and April 2nd will the next time we play on it. That`s a month for it to heal.
Depending on how wet all the muddy patches were, maybe a week to dry out and aeration, 3 weeks of grass seeds isn`t ideal (another month would be ideal but they`ll be a decent length. Good news indeed. Ideal for Tidserball 😆.

He`s Kenyan mate. He probably learnt English when he was two, like other native English speakers. I doubt either the F word or "no brainer" would have been among his first words.
Anyway, even if his legs have gone, as some of the Montreal fans seem to suggest, his leadership and nouse in the middle of the park, and his presence across the park (maybe even the odd header or shot in the opposition box), will be very welcome. I`m sure otoo and others around him will learn a ton. Exciting signing.

The standard in the Eastern Conference of the USA is actually very high. When I watched Charlotte play they had a Spanish and Polish forward that would have done really well against many of the English Premiership teams. Superb movement and interlinking play. So I expect their standards may be higher than Championship or Scottish Premiership.
