with leagues wrapped up for most some early movement with retained lists and moves for next season being confirmed.
Raith announce signing of John Robertson from East Kilbride. Have to say he impressed me in the pre-season game we had at start of the season (albeit a very youthful pars backline).

Looks like we will be losing 3/4 players due to being out of contract and getting rid of the deadwood like Mehmet etc.
The club has a good eye for a player like Gilmour, Fraser etc so again looking at the Hearts/Rangers boys that won’t get a game and can develop more with us…We also have a good few youth players that deserve a chance and I’m sure if they have a good pre season will be given that. Big pre season for Fyfe if we can keep him then you have GK Margetts and Young McDowell..

I thought RR performances would tail off as the season progressed simply due to the age of the squad. Law of averages says that they will be more likely to suffer injuries either new or return of old ones, and take longer to recover. Proffessional sport at any level gets harder as the years go by, so a drop off in results isnt a big surprise as far as they are concerned.

Livi have made an early start to recruitment and no surprise that they are again raiding the ‘released’ lists of the lower English leagues where they presumably have a couple of scouts (our ex-loanee Miles Welch-Hayes being one example of a player sourced down south). With the EFL finishing earlier than other UK leagues, their ‘released’ lists are mostly already published, with some interesting names for Scottish observers. If any club is looking for a new goalkeeper, Tobi Oluwayemi hasn’t been offered a new deal at Orient and is a free agent, as is Shamal George (Wycombe) who was of course on loan at St Mirren. Looking at outfield players, ex-Dundee prospect Max Anderson (still only 25) is being freed by Crawley, with veterans Josh Magennis (Exeter), Funso Ojo (Port Vale) and our one-time nemesis Kane Hemmings (Barrow) also not offered new contracts.

TOBI seems to have drifted a bit with limited game time. He is from London so would want to ply his trade down there I would assume. It might be worth trying to get the Ox on a transfer if he was willing to come.

I work with Jason Talbot. He`s right decent bloke and fairly quiet lad. I find it quite funny that he`s famous for that incident beacuse it doesn`t reflect his personality at all.

Talbot only got a yellow for "the tackle" but got a retrospective 2 game ban, he was however sent off 13 times in his career, including 5 times in 35 games for Port Vale where one manager suggested his poor disciplinary record was due him being over-committed. I seem to recall him being sent off in friendly for us as well ?

Don’t think he got sent off, but the friendly v East Fife where Cardle came back, he very nearly broke my friend’s leg with a challenge.
It was an absolute shocker and should have, if not been sent off, been removed as a sub for it being a pre season game.

If players are signing for Livi this early (before the window officially opens) they must be getting offers they don`t think will be matched or exceeded elsewhere.

livi statement from today:
"The club would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Scott Arfield for stepping in to take charge of the team for the final three matches of the season.
Scott assumed responsibility ahead of our match against Dundee at extremely short notice, taking on the role with less than 24 hours’ preparation. Despite the challenging circumstances, he approached the task with professionalism, commitment and a real desire to support the club during a crucial period.
His willingness to step up when called upon reflects his character and leadership, and everyone at Livingston FC is incredibly grateful for his efforts across those final fixtures.
Discussions are currently ongoing with Scott regarding a potential combined player-coach role for the 2026/27 season. These conversations have been positive, and we hope to be in a position to provide a further update in the near future.
In addition, we can confirm that there has been a significant level of interest in the club’s vacant Head Coach position, with a high volume of applications received from both domestic and international candidates.
As the recruitment process progresses, we will now set a formal closing date for applications of Friday 22nd May, after which the club will move into the next stage of the selection process.
We thank all applicants for their interest in the role and will provide further updates in due course."
The earlier one when Bartley left suggested the football side was being run by the club/board and wouldnt be dependant on a manager being in place.

Does anyone know if he got over his injury and if there is any chance he might be back at EEP?

Without Deniz we wouldn’t even be in the final and he deserves recognition.
I’m not preempting any others just now but it’s a team effort and let’s give them their due reward as it’s our last game this season.

He’ll probably benefit from the extra time you get on the ball compared to the Championship. Joe Chalmers seems to be doing well at Inverness, probably due to the slower pace of the game.

John Rankin believes he has "a blank canvas" after being appointed Airdrieonians head coach.
Airdrie parted with Aaron Taylor-Sinclair, 35, following their relegation to Scottish League 1 via the play-offs and Rankin joins after a short spell as Ayr United interim manager.
Rankin, who made more than 100 appearances as a midfielder for each of Ross County, Hibernian and Dundee United, had a two-and-a-half year spell as Hamilton Academical head coach from 2022-25.
"It`s a blank canvas, I think there`s only a handful of players," Rankin told Airdrieonians` website. "Everything needs built and that`s probably the point where you think you can put your own stamp on it."

Wouldn’t want shinnie, he’s slower than a week in the jail and just a hatchet man now. Amade and Gilmour ran over the top of him at east end. He’d surely demand huge wages aswell.
Calvin Miller reportedly close to signing for hearts, and they’re after Fagan-Walcott for £750k. Also interested in Barney Stewart but surely Falkirk would price them out of that..

I’m hoping we get signing players earlier than last pre season. As the season went on it felt like it took an age for them to blend in together and gain confidence and consistency.
Look forward to seeing how the AI technology has developed and how Lennon and the club utilise the scouting network to work with it. Found a few gems already.
