Makes ANOTHER sad ending to a WC campaign even sadder
I will take a while to get over our painful drawn out exit
Let’s hope the Pars cheer me up with a great start to our Premier League push this coming season
I feel stranded in Miami & cannae wait to get home 😢🙁
Where on earth will Scotland look to now to lift the team (& hopefully make a raft of positive player changes?) a proper team reset of both players & mindset is needed………pffft

Thanks and good luck to Steve Clarke. Two Euro campaigns and two world cup campaigns is quite enough for any national manager regardless is success. Ange would be a great appointment but will never happen. Don`t think he`d want it not could we afford the multi millions he`d command.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

He`s taken the fall, but I don`t think his tactics or team selections are why we have failed again, this is all on the players who just did not perform.

He`s an honest guy and he knows what went wrong. He had a new contract and he could have stuck with it, but he chose to go (probably).
It`s time for a new manager to build a new squad. SC got us to the championships, but he couldn`t get us any further. Can anyone else do any better?

Certain players did not perform at all, others struggled because of no support. Scottish football suffers because of the OF THE SFA AND SPFL.
Sorry Steve you tried hard with Limited resources, but it was right to go

And what of the clowns at the SFA who gave him the contract before the finals, who are happy with Gemmil at u21 despite 10 years of failure, and bend the domestic game to suit 1 club in particular. No doubt nothing..

Could you really see Ange Ball being a success with our squad?
Not really that good with teams who arent top level

He always wins a trophy in his second year though so we`d be winning the euros.

Ooft never saw that coming on the back of his new contract.
Wasn`t in the Clarke out brigade as I said on the other thread but can`t say I`m disappointed.
Be interesting to see who comes in now to lift everyone again.

Thanks for getting us to 2 major tournaments in a row, it`s been a blast (until the actual main event). Got to give the guy credit for quitting as I think that means that he won`t get a pay off??? I don`t think the SFA would have sacked him, not because they`d have to fork out a small fortune but because their is no obvious replacement that will automatically make us better.
The Scotland job is a bit of a poisoned chalice so I can`t see us getting anybody that will excite the fans. In all honesty, I doubt even Guardiola or Klopp would make us any better. We simply don`t have much in the way of quality players.
I`d see if Harry Redknapp wants to come out of retirement. If Pochettino was available I`d fancy shovelling cash his way but I couldn`t see him wanting the gig. It`ll be a recently out of work SPL manager.
No way Moyes will quit the EPL for the national team.
Graham Potter if he gets the sack, no thank you.

I don’t think the criticism of Steve Clarke (from elsewhere, not in the posts here so far) are merited. Alex Ferguson couldn’t get us past the first round with Sounness, Strachan, Archibald, Narey, Miller, Cooper etc. what chance did Clarke have with our current crop ? But our players let themselves and our country down. They certainly didn’t give the best account of themselves - even without being world class.
