On the verge of winning a Serie A medal. Billy Gilmour too if he`s played enough to merit one.

Good for them.

Gilmour will be fine, he`s played plenty. SM though has scored 11 goals. That`s impressive stuff. Che Adams has done well too, scoring 9 goals in a mid table side.

Still 4 games to play after tonight but Inter losing at home to Roma today was a help!

Just read that in Serie A, if two teams finish at the top level on points, there is a one-match off play-off for the title with the team with the best goal difference getting home advantage! At the moment Napoli have a three-point advantage but Inter have a better GD by ten.

There’s still folk saying he’s not good enough for Man Utd. What a laugh! mctominay should just stay where he is now. It’s perfect for him.

If Napoli win Serie A, he`ll be a legend there - after only 1 season.

The last time this happened was in 1962. Bologna beat Inter 2-0 in the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Mctominay is fantastic, far too good for a bottom half team like Man United

You obviously passed `O` Grade Geography, eck. 😁

They must have changed the rules since then, if your source is accurate.

It would be played at a neutral venue, the home ‘advantage’ is actually just using the home dressing room/dugouts within the neutral stadium.

Was at the Napoli match yesterday and watched the Inter match on tv with a reporter for one of the bigger sport channels who covered local reactions so was regularly on the air while we were there. Aside from him entertaining my wee boy for a couple hours he told me an about this as well as I had never heard of this. He told me that the play off would be in Rome if they finish on the same points.

In that case BBC Sport have got it wrong!

`Should both teams finish the season tied on points then they would face each other in a one-off match - played at the home of the team with the better goal difference - to determine the champions.`

It seems quite odd to effectively not recognise superior goal difference. I wonder if this happens anywhere else? Even considering head-to-head results might have been fairer.

Head to head is the first tie breaker I think, but the games between the two ended up being equal. Goal difference is the second tier breaker when it`s not vital league positions I think (so not for title, European qualification, relegation and play offs etc).

I think both games were 1 all draws so that`s moot.

Man Utd played him as a defensive midfielder wheras his best position is that of an attacking midfielder. He`s already adored by the Napoli fans.
