The quality of players we still look to bring in may not be ready to sign.
They have a month to wait for their best option.
Could be money, coaching oportunities, length of contract or even location.
If they are experienced they will be looking to get the best they can before they are beyond their prime.
We probably have a few in the basket, and we just need to trust NL to get the best he can.
We could offer good wagez to less quality and get the signatures, but Im sure we are looking at better.

Yup, I`m not sure who`s on the list, but it`s pretty reasonable to suggest that some on the list will be holding off to get the best deal possible for themselves. Hopefully it`s all sorted in the next week or two instead of waiting until the last minute. An experienced keeper and striker is all I`m after, anything else is a bonus.

More should have been done to secure Dylan Easton . If we can’t offer better terms than the rovers , a think we are in trouble this season IMO . Call me a bed wetter or what ever you like . A hope am wrong but I see us bottom half of the table with this squad .

He was never signing for us, he bumped up what they had to pay him too, ffs he`s not young, how far do we push it?

Who’s to say we didn’t offer better wages? His heart appears to be with the Rovers so fair play to him he stuck with his Heart! Preseason is always about teams trying their younger players and if they aren’t ready putting them out on loan - players like Tobi and Johnny Kenny all got into the preseason teams but may not be ready for the step up so now’s the time they may get offered out on loan!
Stop being a bedwetter - we are in a far far better position team wise than we have been in the last 4 years at this juncture

Ridiculous post. Should we have handed Rovers a blank cheque? It`s not Football Manager.

Dylan`s a good player and a nice guy BUT the numbers being bandied about were madness IMO. If it was 4 years ago maybe but not at 31. If there`s money for fees like what was being suggested for him then there must be other options out there.
Fair play to him though, he played the Rovers like a fiddle. Hope they`ve got that oven on as they`ll need to sell a few more pies.

You do realise he is/was under contract so what we offered to him means hee haw as the wee team would have to accept a fee first 🤔

I may be wrong here but…
Do we think a manager of NL’s experience would have come to us without guarantees. He knows the market. Knows what’s required. I assume he has connections that he can tap into, he’s not going to broadcast his business.
We just have to wait. I don’t think we’ll be disappointed. May not win the league, but definitely be in a strong position at the end.
I’m actually looking forward to this season for the first time in many years!

Here`s hoping, par-ticular. I dont think I`ve seen or heard anyone talking about us putting in a title challenge. However, I think many fans, including myself, are yet to be convinced that we will be competing in the top half of the table. I`m sure we would all be delighted to be proved wrong. Let`s see how the first round of fixtures play out 🤞🤞

I`ll say it again, speak to any Hibs fan and they`ll tell you NL takes his time getting his signings and doesn`t go in willy nilly.

It`s probably just because we have a big support so more of our fans are putting money on.

Easton has the type of quality that could have really helped in the short term, but would have taken minutes from Tod and Cooper who have both been standout performers in the cup group stage, and would eventually decline across the length of the contract he`d have wanted. He`s also not really a great fit for the current formation we are playing so would either be shoehorned in or amend the full shape to accommodate.
A bigger issue is the experienced striker slot. It`s now at a stage of pre-season where most clubs are 90% there with their squads and selling strikers in prime age probably isn`t in their plans. Oli Shaw makes a lot of sense given his goal record last season, his relationship with Lennon and Hamilton`s financial situation. Outside of that, Cosgrove (28) seems the best free agent but outside of Aberdeen he`s struggled to score at any club. It`s slim pickings and may be another scenario where we wait and see what business Premiership clubs do before picking up someone on loan. Watkins (34) managed just one start for Killie in the league cup and might be someone they look to offload. Bavidge (19) at Aberdeen doesn`t fit the experienced mould but looks ready to make the step up after a good loan at ICT. Or they may look to loan out Ambrose (23) but think Thelin rates him higher which makes sense. With a lot of clubs agreeing arrangements such as Ayr and Celtic, Raith and Rangers etc, it makes loans that little bit harder...

I stated around a month ago of my concerns with the size and makeup of the first team squad. A number of posters replied that there was plenty of time.
The league starts on Saturday and our squad still has the same weaknesses.
The fixtures in August look quite tough. A poor start would raise my anxiety levels even more.

Have Raith set up an arrangement with Rangers?
We have acquired a goalkeeper from them, something that Rovers fans are screaming out for as their current keeper is apparently gash!

After the last 4-5 years it is completely understandable for us all to have anxiety about the state of the squad. Talk of a promotion push is premature IMO.
I fully expect us to get another 3-4 players onboard before the window closes. No way Lennon would be manager without assurances on transfers. I agree we are very light in the final third and will need to get players in soon. Definitely need an experienced CB as well, Bene gives me the fear.

It`s an odd agreement. They signed it a month ago I think but it`s us who signed a player on loan and had a pre-season friendly.

Don’t the players have to be Scottish to be part of the co-op agreement?

I see us being no where near a play off with this squad, we still haven’t addressed the issues we had last year. Striker, cam, cb, and overall experience.
I do trust Lennon to improve some of other players however but pretty disappointed with what we have.

Let`s be honest it`s not the exciting summer that was mentioned at the end of the season.
Can`t say the club haven`t spent money when you look at the pitch and even the new TV in legends these things aren`t free.
But for most folk it`s about the first team and like others have said key areas that needed to be strengthened at the end of last season have not been addressed.
Lots of early chat about us signing fantasy league players like Martin Boyle and James Forrest nobody really thought that was going to happen.
But how are we not in the market for Kevin Holt , Sam Stanton boys like this for example the club have shown a willingness to spend transfer fees and wages so we can compete.
We have 4 games in the league during August the last thing we want to be doing is playing catch like we have for a few seasons in the championship.
When was the last time in the championship we made a strong start and built some kind of momentum.
