Dunfermline Athletic 0 Cowdenbeath 3 (1-4 on aggregate)
Mon, 19th May 2014
In the end it all came down to one game, and the Pars found themselves outplayed by the team in the higher division as once more the season ended in calamity. All the excitement created by a large crowd dissipated within 30 seconds of kick-off as the visitors scored when Kane Hemmings was first to react to a knock-down. The Pars failed to create many threats and when O’Brien pounced to double the lead, that was that. A third goal soon after only served to rub salt in the wounds.

Dunfermline Athletic 3 Stranraer 0 (aet 4-2 On aggregate)
Sun, 11th May 2014
The Pars came through a stiff challenge comfortably enough in the end with a double from Geggan and a third goal from El Bakhtaoui. After a goal-less first half, during which Geggan had missed a great chance, hit the bar and then seen another header hit the keeper and spin over the top, the Pars eventually equalised the tie just before the hour mark when Geggan scored from close range. There was no further scoring in normal time, but the Pars scored twice in the first half of extra-time to secure their passage.

Stranraer 2 Dunfermline Athletic 1
Fri, 9th May 2014
Once again individual errors proved costly as the Pars lost 2-1 at Stranraer in the first leg of the Championship play-off semi-final. A defensive lapse allowed Grehan to score into an empty net after 12 minutes, although the luck seemed to have turned when El Bakhtaoui latched on to a lovely Falkingham pass to equalise before half-time. The Pars missed some good chances to take the lead, but after Page got himself sent off late on for 2 yellow cards in quick succession, Stranraer took full advantage as Bell turned home a free-kick late on to give the home team a slender lead.

Dunfermline Athletic 1 Rangers 1
Sun, 4th May 2014
A Lewis Martin header, which cancelled out an early goal from Dean Shiels, saw a second-string Pars side draw with the runaway division winners Rangers. In an effort to rest his mainstays for the forthcoming play-offs, Jim Jefferies had changed his entire starting eleven, but has now given himself some selection headaches as his understudies performed superbly.
