Arbroath came to defend in depth and hit on the break, and it took a fantastic volley from Stephen Husband to separate the sides at the interval. Forbes took advantage of slack defending to add a second on the hour mark, before Falkingham slid home a third at the back post with twenty minutes left as the Pars ultimately cruised to victory.

Dunfermline Athletic 3 Ayr United 0The recent new signings were again to the fore as the Pars ran out comfortable winners in a game that saw a perfectly observed minute’s silence in memory of Joe Nelson. Both sides spurned very early chances to open the scoring but after Ross Forbes found the back of the net with a superb strike in 8 minutes the Pars never looked back. Lawrence Shankland tapped home from close range right on half-time before sealing the win late on crashing home a shot after running onto Forbes’ pass.

For the first home match in weeks, the Pars welcome visitors Ayr United to East End Park for today`s SPFL1 match.

After Jim Jeffries convinced former captain Josh Falkingham to re-sign until 2016 let`s hope "oor wee yin" gets back to top form.

Note to fans : there will be a 1 min silence before kick off in respect of Joe Nelson who sadly passed away this week.

The Pars got back on track with what eventually proved to be a comfortable win at New Bayview, in a match played in windy and wet conditions. Ross Forbes missed an early penalty before touching home just before the interval to give the Pars a deserved lead. After long periods struggling into the wind, they scored a quick fire double through Wallace and Grainger, and although Paul Willis soon netted a consolation, the Pars held on to the three points.
