Post Match Interviews
Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Wednesday, 10th Nov 2004Highlights from interviews given by Davie Hay, Robbo and Richie Byrne after the CIS Cup game against Hearts.
Davie Hay
Davie considers the game to have been a close fought contest and mentions the fact that the Pars were missing a few good players. He acknowledges that Hugh Dallas made some bad decisions at important times that could have hindered Dunfermline’s chances in the game. Although defeated Hay does not blame the sides commitment in anyway and has only good things to say about that aspect of the performance.
Robbo
John knew that the game at East End Park would be a difficult and gave credit to Dunfermline’s second half performance having changed their system. He feels his side deserved the win and is happy at his start having taken over recently. Robertson underlines the point that the bigger teams outside of the Old Firm should be challenging for trophies on a more regular basis and he is happy to be one of only four that can win it.
Richie Byrne
Richie feels that the penalty decision was the turning point in the game and turned it against the Pars. He explains the situation for the first goal and tells us that it was bad luck on their part. Byrne is adamant that he did not foul the man in the box and that Dallas made a terrible decision in booking him also. He tries to explain the reason that he was eventually played in midfield and expresses his enthusiasm for this position. Looking forward to Saturdays match in Aberdeen, Richie is looking forward to beating his old manager and stresses that he wants to win every game regardless.
