Hamish French leg break
Author: Niall Shaw Date: Monday, 30th Sep 2002Ex-Par Hamish French has broken his leg in game against Berwick.
Hamish is the second-team coach at Dunfermline and player at Cowdenbeath. This will be a serious blow to him and the question will be can he recover to continue his playing career.
Cowden manager Keith Wright said yesterday after speaking to French, who is in the Borders Hospital: "At first it was thought that not only was the leg broken but that his ankle was dislocated. But after further X-rays this morning the ankle is bruised, not dislocated, though Hamish has a broken tibia and fibula. Both breaks are clean and the surgeons have decided not to operate but to put a plaster on."
