Taribo West continues
Author: Brian Duncan Date: Saturday, 26th Oct 2002Nigerian international Taribo West demands are being considered.
The Nigerian Internationalist who played in the World Cup finals earlier this year spent several days training with the Pars. Discussions have taken place between John Yorkston, the Dunfermline chairman, and his agent...or now his three agents as he now seems to have.
Yorkston was quoted as saying that he did not want any players who demanded £10,000 a week, and it seemed that West`s wage demand would fit into the Pars Wage structure. However, West`s agents appear to have a list of new requests, such as housing, flights and loyalty bonuses added to his original financial package.
The former Inter Milan, AC Milan, Derby County and Auxerre player appears keen to resurrect his career at East End Park, although for how long he intends to stay is a question we have to ask.
West was also a member of the Nigerian 1996 Olympic Gold medal and played in the 1998 World Cup finals in France.
You would have thought that teams such as Bolton and Manchester City would have snapped him up. Will Dunfermline be able to tame him any better than they managed Rossi ?
