Dunfermline are dreaming of reliving the glory days of the 1960’s on Saturday in the final of the Tennent’s Scottish Cup.
In 1961 the Pars were massive underdogs against the mighty Celtic and under the watchful eye of Jock Stein they overcame the odds and lifted the Scottish Cup.
The legends of 1961 still live in the hearts of the Dunfermline fans and none more so than the captain of the 1961 cup winning squad, Ron Mailer, who led the team to that famous victory against Celtic.
Ron describes the moment in 1961, todays team and his favourites of today and the chances of today’s Dunfermline team to pull of another cup shock. He also compares the use of the plastic pitch to the rather dodgy state of the pitch in mid-winter in the 60`s
