DAFC Shirt Sponsor required

RAC Auto Windscreens have announced they are going to concentrate on motoring, so there is an opportunity to sponsor the Pars.

Dunfermline Athletic Football Club (DAFC) has announced that their shirt sponsorship will be available from next season. The announcement follows the decision by current sponsors, RAC Auto Windscreens, to end their long association with the Scottish Premier League (SPL) outfit on 30th June 2005.

David Currier, RAC Auto Windscreens` Sales & Marketing Director, commented, "We have enjoyed a long and successful relationship with DAFC, culminating in the Scottish Cup Final last year. The sponsorship agreement was put in place five years ago prior to our acquisition by RAC plc in 2001. A number of changes have since taken place in the business and corporate policy is such that sponsorship should now be motoring based."

John Yorkston, DAFC`s Chairman, commented, "I am very sorry that RAC Auto Windscreens has strategically moved away from football. Everyone at the Club has enjoyed working, on a professional and personal basis, with such a strong national brand. We must move on, however. This is a fantastic opportunity for a new partner to share in DAFC`s and Scottish football`s continued success."

DAFC has in recent years established itself as one of the more consistent performers in the SPL, regularly featuring in the top six, reaching the Scottish Cup Final and playing European football for the first time in 34 years. Indeed, DAFC is one of few clubs that has seen an increase in season ticket sales over the last few years.

DAFC has also been in the forefront of the UEFA artificial pitch pilot scheme as the only UK representative. The all-weather surface enables seven day a week use of the Stadium ensuring that DAFC is a true "Community Club".
