Fans Player of the Year 2003-2004
Date: Saturday, 7th Aug 2004During the close season the fans submitted their choice for Player of the Year.
Season 2003-2004 was the most successful since the 1960`s and with so many good players it was difficult for the fans to choose their Player of the Year. However, it was a very close contest with Barry Nicholson losing out by the narrowest of margins to Craig Brewster. Craig was chosen by you and was consistent throughout the season by winning most points for the Man of The Match. However, it wasn`t just a one man team and we are looking at this team to go onto better things in the coming season.
We also asked you to pick a Young Player of the Year, which was almost as difficult, but Aaron Labonte wins it. Aaron was one of a few younger players to be brought in by Jimmy Calderwood (who??) from Newcastle in May 2003.
After coming on as a substitute against Rangers in Sept 2003 Aaron quickly established himself as a regular in the first team and in particular his great performance in the Scottish Cup Final.
