Post Match Interviews

Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Monday, 20th Dec 2004

Highlights from interviews given by Davie Hay, Derek Stillie and Iain Campbell after the Hibs game.

Davie Hay
Davie is pleased with his side`s defensive performance and points out the teams injury worries, it was this that compelled him to believe that they deserved a point from the game. Hay`s well used, if not over used, phrase of “character and resolve” is chosen to describe the way the Pars got back from being a goal down. Beyond all this Davie is still sorely disappointed to lose the match with virtually the last meaningful kick of the ball.

Derek Stillie
Derek is adamant that the side can`t afford to rely on other teams misfortune and must work hard to get results off their own back. He explains that the amount of effort put in by the players was a plus point and picks out the young players who have filled in well to help cover the huge injury list. Stillie feels that with the good, young talent coming through the club will be stronger in the long run and with a little more luck the effort will pay off.

Iain Campbell
Iain admits that it was a surprise to make a first team appearance on Saturday and is happy with his first SPL performance but is disappointed with the result. He is happy to tell us that his father, the great Dick Campbell is a big influence to him although he doesn`t make it to many games due to his own commitments. Iain is looking to gain a few more starts this season and with the injury worries he is hoping his chance will come sooner rather than later.
