Post Match Interviews
Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Sunday, 1st May 2005Highlights(?) from interviews given by Davie Hay, Richard Gough and Scott Thomson after the game against Livingston.
Davie Hay
Davie notices that his side lost the game and goes on to make further bold statements about how next weeks game is a ‘must win’ and that a loss would have dire consequences. He explains his decision to push Scott Thompson forward and decides that the gamble made no difference to the performance of the front line. In response to the fans chanting he plays down the significance and blames it on frustration at watching a side that was high flying but is now struggling to avoid relegation. Davie acknowledges that he has some responsibility over the poor performance this season but also calls on the players to take some of the blame and up their game.
Richard Gough
Richard underlines the game as a must win and his side managed to do that. He is pleased for the players and believes they did themselves proud, battling hard and showing good football. He feels that if his side can pull off a win next week at Inverness that they would be comfortably away from the drop zone.
Scott Thompson
Scott in thoroughly disappointed with the result and points out that the goal scoring trouble has been the story of the whole season. He explains that he wasn’t surprised to be push up front and that it was discussed in the dressing room before the game, reasoning that he had played up front under Calderwood and performed fairly well. Scott’s response to the fans is much the same as Hay’s explains that they pay their money and as a result are allowed to shout what they want. He also tells us how the Pars seemed to pick their game up and kept a lot of possession but that they never looked likely to score, this being the same through the entire match.
