Scott Walker has put pen to paper.

Jimmy Calderwood has eventually completed the final piece of his long awaited jigsaw. As expected, a centre half has arrived at East End Park, and as reported last month by DAFC.NET, Scott Walker has put pen to paper to sign a deal with the Pars.

However, the deal may not yet be complete as St Mirren appear to have a problem with the proposed deal. We await further developments.

The move for the 27 year old has taken several dramatic twists during the last four weeks. Firstly, St Mirren wanted £50,000 for the ex Stirling Albion stopper. The Pars were unwilling to pay a transfer fee, and so turned their attention to Alan McDermott of Manchester Utd.

However, Saints then lowered their asking price to £25,000, but the Pars remained adamant that no transfer fee would be paid for the player. Amazingly, an increasingly frustrated Walker, who was desperate to play on a bigger stage then decided to pay the asking fee himself.

It is likely that Walker`s debut in the black and white - this time of Dunfermline, will be an easy one, as he squares up against either Sutton or Hartson in what is sure to be yet another day in paradise for the Pars
