Post Match Interviews
Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Sunday, 19th Sep 2004Highlights from interviews given by Davie Hay, Craig Levein, Barry Nicholson and Gary Dempsey after the Hearts game.
Davie Hay
Davie praises Barry Nicholsons effort to win the game and he is greatly relieved to have won his first game in the SPL. He looks ahead to the CIS cup match against Partick Thistle in mid-week and hopes the resilience shown today will carry through into that game.
Craig Levien
Craig explains that he knew he was taking a risk playing an under strength side at East End Park. He acknowledges that Hearts were out played in the second half and the players that came in did not do anything to oust the first team regulars. He goes onto give praise to his young goal-keeper in making some outstanding saves and getting to Gary Dempseys penalty.
Barry Nic
Delighted to have gained all three points but the fact he scored the winner wasn’t important. Explains that everyone at the club just wanted to ease the pressure on themselves and the management team. Barry acknowledges that the Pars should have killed off Hearts with the chances they had and is looking forward to continuing the winning run.
Gary Dempsey
Gary also shows his enthusiasm at winning the first game and tells us that he got a boost from seeing the lack of Hearts regulars in the first team. He laughs off the penalty miss due to the fact the win came in the end and admits he is confused about the teams start with the quality of players the Pars possess. He is confident about the mid week cup game and looks onto the Celtic match at Parkhead with some relish.
