Sad loss to the Pars...
Author: Neil Farrell Date: Thursday, 30th Dec 2004Tragically, it has been announced that Pars hero and current Rangers defender Paolo Vanoli has been negotiating an amicable release from his current contract, and will be allowed to move in the January transfer window.
Like the death of JFK/Lady Di, Pars fans will always remember what they were doing the moment Vanoil stroked the ball past the flailing arms of Stephan Klos and inside the post to seal the historic 2-0 win against Alex McLeish`s Orcs on Sunday 14th December 2003. I personally blame the pitch myself. If it had been grass, then Klos may have had a chance.
32 year old Vanoli, who joined Rangers from Fiorentina as a free agent in 2003 has not played since September, much to the disdain of Pars fans around the globe. We salute you Sir, and thank you for your wonderful memory.
