Pars eye up Antti Sumiala
Author: Neil Farrell Date: Thursday, 13th Jan 2005The much travelled 30-year-old Sumiala arrives at East End this Sunday for Davie Hay to cast his eye on him in the latest developments to possibly replenish the goalscoring positions following the departures of Crawford and Brewster.
Sumiala started his football career with Anderlecht`s youth academy, he was there for just under a year before going to Danish side Ikast. Sumiala then went to German side SSV Reutlingen.
Following that he returned to Belgium with Lokeren. He then went to ply his trade in the Dutch Leagues where he played for Emmen, NEC Nijmegen and Twente Enschede.
Antti Sumiala did have a good spell in Turkey with Yozgatspor, but despite his goalscoring exploits Yozgatspor were relegated.
The 30 year old then moved on to Sweden, this time with IFK Norrkoping before returning to Turkey to sign a deal for Sebatspor Trabzon. His previous club was Liechtenstein side FC Vaduz.
Antti Sumiala has won 38 caps, scoring on 9 occasions for Finland.
