Davie Hay
Davie feels that, although United began the game well, his side deserved to win from the lead at half time. He explains that missed chances may well have cost the Pars three points but maintains that the team played exceptionally for most of the game. He describes the United goal as soft and that they only had a few spells of pressure which troubled the defence but overall Dunfermline dominated. Davie is relieved that his injury worries are slowly diminishing and the prospect of new players coming in very likely.
Ian McCall
Ian is very happy at getting a draw and acknowledges that the Pars controlled the game for over an hour of the match. McCall tells us that one of his tactical changes was to nullify Lee Makel who he regards very highly as a talented player. He is angry about his teams overall performance but states that he would have taken a draw on the artificial surface before the match. He knows how important matches like these are and believes that another few clubs could be dragged into the dogfight at the bottom of the table.
Lee Makel
Lee is disappointed at the result but is already looking forward to the next match against Inverness. He feel’s that they created enough opportunities to win the game but that at 1-0 there was always a chance they could lose a goal. Lee explains that he hasn’t been playing for about 6 weeks and that its going to take a bit of time to get to his best but he has settled in well with the players being very welcoming. He is flattered that United had to cover him specifically but he is just trying to concentrate on his own game. When asked about the pitch he is happy to say he likes it and that it suits his style of play, which must be one of the first endorsements this season.
Jesper Christiansen
Very pleased to get his first goal for the club but is disappointed that it wasn’t the winning goal. Jesper feels he is getting fitter and sharper while getting to know the players well and praises Hunt’s ability to take on defenders. He explains that he doesn’t score to impress and is happy enough to be setting up goals as well as scoring them. Unfortunately he is unsure of his future although he would like to stay at Dunfermline just as we would like him stay.
