Highlights from interviews given by Craig Robertson, Stephen Simmons, Andy Campbell and Scott Muirhead after the game against Motherwell at EEP.

Craig Robertson

Craig feels that The Pars had the better start and believes that they could well have scored three or four goals in that time. However, he admits that Motherwell came right back into the game and caused a few problems although he was always comfortable with the performance. He is delighted with the new signings and thinks they will be real assets to the squad, he talks about how the SFA didn’t allow Dacquin to play, otherwise he would have been in the team. In relation to the administration cock-up by the SFA over Ian Campbell’s suspension for the CIS cup semi-final at Easter Road in mid-week, Robbo explains that they were told he was suspended and couldn’t go against it, although it wasn’t a problem due to the fact the tie was won.

Stephen Simmons

Stephen explains how he was not surprised at the move to Dunfermline and is simply delighted that he earned a place at another SPL side. He has no qualms with his nine years at Hearts and is pleased with how the deal was done and has no hard feelings and didn’t see the new foreign rule as a problem. From the other side of the river Stephen was impressed with Dunfermline as both teams challenged for third place, he sees no reason why the team we have cant be challenging for that again. On the game he feels that the team played very well in spells of the match but realises that Motherwell did come back into the game and that a draw was a fair result.

Andy Campbell

Andy explains how he jumped at the chance to play to play for Dunfermline following his redundancy at Cardiff. He talks of how he was looking at a few clubs but that The Pars were definitely the best side that came in for him. Andy admits that it has been difficult to watch much Scottish football as its rarely on the television down south but has caught a few of the bigger games, usually involving the Old Firm and feels it is a good standard. He has vowed to work very hard to try and impress Leishman and believes that Jim is a great man manager following the interaction he has had with the big man.

Scott Muirhead

Scott was relatively pleased with his performance and believes that a draw was a fair result in the end. He gives some insight into the circumstances of his signing explaining that his former boss at Aberdeen talked to him about the move to Dunfermline and that by Friday afternoon the deal was done, with the hope of getting a more regular game. Scott is cup tied for the final and although it’s a blow for him, he knows how important it is for the club and everyone involved.
