Highlights from interviews given by Craig Robertson, John Hughes, Scott Thomson and Gary Mason after the game against Falkirk at EEP.

Craig Robertson
Robbo points out that the club is lucky to have a player with the finishing qualities of Mark Burchill, who again pulled off a marvellous strike to salvage a point. He goes on to give praise to the team as a whole in relation to the spirit they have shown in the face of terrible injury worries, which have again resurfaced. Craig believes Dunfermline started the game better and were hit hard with a fluke goal against the run of play but having got the equaliser it gets the club a point further away from relegation. He admits the game could have gone either way but is happy not to have lost the match.

John Hughes
John tells us that he thought his side deserved to win the match having taken the lead and striking the woodwork twice. Although he admits it was a good point for both clubs he still believes both are in a dog fight at the bottom, he has a lot of respect for Livingston and knows they aren’t dead and buried yet. When talking about the goal conceded he puts it down to the free-kicks that were given away and the inability to clear their lines. John explains that he was telling his players that he didn’t want heroes on the park, he just wanted them to do their own jobs and keep it tight at the back.

Scott Thomson
Scott is delighted with the point gained in the match having gone the behind, he too thinks it was against the run of play as Dunfermline started the brighter, however, following the goal he admits the performance wasn’t good enough. Thomo reveals his nick-name as the submarine, due to the fact he always seems to go down with teams, but is very happy with the club and considers himself a Fife having lived in the Kingdom for 8 years. Talking about the articles written about the club by a few newspapers after the Rangers game, he feels it was very disrespectful to the players who are fighting for their livelihoods at the bottom of the table, with the club in a very precarious situation.

Gary Mason
Gary talks of how Falkirk managed to dictate the play following their goal, making it very difficult for the midfield to keep their shape and combat the threat. However, he feels that at half time they changed it for the better and were able to trouble their opposition at the back for sustained spells, maybe even doing enough to nick a winner. As with all of the players he is happy to gain a point and avoid a defeat, he gives special praise to the goal that won that point and knows Burchill is a player that can produce when needed. Speaking of the rivalry between the sides, Gary is happy to play in such fiery encounters and realises it takes a bit of grit in order to get a result, which they did.
