Post Match Interviews

Author: Stuart Meldrum Date: Saturday, 4th Nov 2006

Highlights from interviews given by John Hughes, Craig Robertson and Darren Young after the game against Falkirk at EEP.

John Hughes
John was pleased at the size of the away support and with the local rivalry it made the win all the better. He described it as delightful to get three goals and three points but admitted they carried a little bit of luck after their 35 second opener. Hughes was obviously very happy with Stokes performance and answered questions on whether he would be able to hold on to the 18 year old striker, on loan from Arsenal.

Craig Robertson
Craig was very disappointed with the performance and felt the early goal was simply bad defending. He thought the second half performance was better with early chances but losing the second goal was a real blow. He spoke of the chances at 0-2 with Ross’s shot rebounding off the bar and inadvertently setting up the Falkirk counter to make it three. On the new manager, Robertson said that the new man would give the lads a boost but he has no information on the timescale for the announcement. He realises that the new manager will have to try and get consistency of team selection, which we haven’t had for a while. The players, he believes, are good enough to climb the league with the correct guidance.
